The Third Party - Chapter 100
3rd Person’s POV (12 yrs., 9 months)
The contraption before them consisted of a pit with stone pillars and quick sands from below, as the first obstacle. Simple enough at least.
The second one offered a variety of moving blocks of rock, sand and earth, as if gravity was a concept it did not know, moving in mid-air, caressing one another or just simply floating above other blocks.
The third obstacle course composed of poles of rocks barricading so many parts and sections within the area, leaving parallel lines for people to see through, but was built as a maze to confuse anyone who’d enter the course.
The fourth one offered three long lines over a pool of water, just that.
And the last consists of five pillars, one being at the center and the tallest out of the five while the other four surrounded the one at the center having equal heights but almost one fourth of the tall one.
The eighteen kids watched at the obstacle course, others curious, anxious, excited and of course a little bit bored. People had slowly gathered at the side due to the sudden rumbling of the ground piquing their interest..
“You will all start here, the mission is to get to the top as fast as possible, you may use any means to get to the top, but strictly no flying, or any form of flight spells, or we won’t hesitate to shoot you down.” the initial part made them smile because this might just be a simple task to do, but hearing that last part made them pause.
Clearly stated on their faces the disbelief, how could their masters/soon to be masters ever think of such when they are just kids, barely entering teen years, and isn’t that a form of abuse?
“We understand Master.” spoke Ken, catching the attention of his fellow students, particularly the other seven. Lyn nodded joyfully.
“Great! Now off you go, I’ll give you all thirty minutes to finish the obstacle course, have fun!!!” she said, issuing a spell, teleporting the eighteen students on top of stone pillars of the first obstacle course.
“Welp, let’s do this.” said Glen stretching his hands forward, good thing that they were teleported on each of the pillars at the start, leaving room and space for them to further prepare or initially prepare themselves.
Such is the case for the seven good looking people with clothes fit for those of wealthy people, except their facial expressions did not exert the feeling other people thought, they were in a bit of a turmoil, varying for each individual.
“See you guys on the other side!” shouted Glen jumping to a stone pillar.
“Wait up!” shouted Icarus, a smile caressing his face.
“Me too!” seconded Celine, Wilbert following after her, the twin panther siblings silently passed overhead the two executing a flawless move of two people jumping synchronously.
“Show off.” commented Allen, crouching and pushing ahead passing by five pillars before landing on the sixth.
‘Bit of a show off yourself.’ commented Riyah in her thoughts and jumped passing by two pillars at the same time.
“Would you like to go your highness?” asked Ken beside the princess, Princess Lang only gave him a turn and nodded before jumping off on her own, and every after landing she’d quickly push her legs for a boost up.
“What about me? Aren’t you gonna ask me?” said Flin beside him, Ken chuckled at the childish response of his friend before patting Flin’s head.
“Sure, go on ahead.” said Ken smiling, turning that pout upside down, as Flin also cheerfully smiled back.
“Okay!” he said once and jumping off to another pillar, he just so happens to jump on the same pillar Ken and Princess Lang landed on.
Ken watched with a soft smile as Flin enjoyed himself jumping from one pillar to another. He turned to the other seven, jumped to a pillar close to them but at the center.
“Come, or you guys will be left behind.” somehow that remark brought an irritation on Ace’s head, that angry look surfaced on his face.
“Let’s go.” He said imposingly, jumping to a pillar near Ken, the others complied anyways, can’t disobey their leader now, can they?
Ken just looked at that angry male contemplatingly, giggling to himself, on how he could humiliate- I mean, reform that kid, but yes, humiliation will be part of the process.
This time, maybe a little bit on the sadistic side. Ken smiled that smile where his eyes disappeared, but if one would look closely it looked like the other person was a psychopathic killer, but no one would recognize that.
‘Okay, bad Ken, bad, let’s not lean on to that side of our self, or there’d be stupid consequences, possibly evolving to dire ones, so no, control your urge to push that guy off of the pillars.’ yeah…. He really doesn’t like it when there is blatant disrespect shown to the people he holds dear.
But situation proves to be unbeneficial, so he’ll just stop and start jumping or he’ll be the last one. He smirked. Gaze zoning in on ten pillars, before pushing his energy to his legs to propel him forward.
Each landing on a pillar pushing his body to react faster, arriving at the front just as the twins arrived, followed by Allen, then Riyah and so on, but he didn’t dawdle any longer and just blatantly left the others behind, rushing to the next obstacle course.
As if his back was on fire. The three people that saw this could only look at one another before chuckling lightly.
‘What is that guy up to again.’ they thought blankly, but decided to rid themselves of such thought, and followed after the guy.
That thirty minute time frame almost felt like an hour or two for them, jumping over the blocks trying to get to the other side as it kept moving backwards once they were on the platform, getting lost on the barricaded maze.
At some point almost losing their mind from the illusion of the barricades, along with the light of the sun blinding them, what almost made it a worst experience was on the fourth obstacle course where they had to walk on wobbly legs as the bridge shook at the mere touch.
But surprisingly sturdy. Coupled with jets of water splashing them on their faces, made the experience even more unappealing.
The last was a tricky one to solve, all of them each had jumped on the four pillars, but no matter how high they’d jump they couldn’t get to the highest one.
“Oooh! How about we stack on each other? Just use reinforcement enchant magic so we wouldn’t feel the weight of each other, or we could enchant ourselves to feel lighter but wouldn’t float. What do you think?” said Wilbert out loud.
Ken gave him a thumbs up and a big smile.
“We could try.” said Saber, the tall looking platform dealing a heavy blow on his jumping capabilities, urging him up to the task that was presented for him.
The ten people had slowly stacked up on each other with Glen as the base so as not to make the stacking shaky.
“Yo! You guys have to help us.” said Ken running to the seven people with red uniforms huddled up on their group.
“No we can do this on our own.” replied Ace.
“Oh, don’t be stubborn, we’re a team now, and we help each other.” Ken held out his hand.
“How can I trust you?” said the other, slowly retracting from his group.
“You don’t need to trust me, I won’t force you too, but we’re lacking on numbers so why don’t we try?” gesturing to the ten people on the pillar slowly climbing over one another, good thing the girls did not wear skirts, all had to wear long or shorts for their exercises.
Seeing that their tower stacking was slowly working, he reluctantly held Ken’s hand, abruptly getting himself pulled, while the other just smiled, not knowing that his friends had grabbed on to him forming a line of seven people being dragged in the air like a ribbon.
Ken winding all of the up and throwing them all into the air towards the settled tower of ten people, Ken’s friends knew what they needed to do, by lightening the gravity of these seven people the males and females at the top, casually held on to their bodies and slowly but surely stacked them at the top.
With Ace being the last one, almost the last one at the top, just a little bit more.
Everyone at the side watching this can’t help but awe at the sight of such a sturdy looking tower, and can’t help but chuckle a bit at the initial treatment these eleven people gave to the other seven.
“Here I go!” Ken readied his feet, bending down and jumping up, casting the spell he casted on the other seven on himself, he clutched onto Allen’s extended hand and leisurely let the guy throw him above, cart-wheeling on the air once.
Before extending his hands behind Ace, and clutching his shoulders, happily getting on the guy’s shoulders.
“There, done, now, give me a sec.” Ken clutched at the edge of the pillar’s platform before hoisting himself up, flipping once in the air and landing gracefully hands opened at the side as if he just did a performance, releasing a content exhale of breath.
Then without a word, crouched down, planting his whole body on the plat for, and extended his hand.
“Grab on.” Ace did as was told and grabbed hold of Ken’s outstretched hand, before he could hoist himself up, power coursed through his veins, catching him by surprise.
“Enchant Magic: Light Feather.” The spell covered all seventeen people in a white hue. “Hiya!” before getting themselves pulled into the air, their bodies flying into the air.
‘I knew he would do this.’ thought Allen, Saber, Lila, and Princess Lang, all of them free falling into the air.
“Hang on!” Ken issued a nature spell, growing a vine on the platform that he circled around his waist, he jumped into the air, catching his friends, automatically the vine pulled him back to the platform to let him put down his friends.
Repeating the process over and over, leaving Ace as the last one he pulled to the platform. The guy almost had the scare of his life, flying into the air like that, his center of balance going haywire.
But that dude was only laughing so carelessly without a care in the world as if what he had done was pleasant, it was not, he almost crushed his body on the ground if that guy did not catch him.
HMPH!
Ace moped at the side, but mostly of the embarrassing situation he got himself into, that screaming… ugh, he almost could not forget about it. His face burning red from the blush he so desperately tried to hide.
His group of friends circling him, asking if he was alright, while the culprit of his current state was getting chased around by their eldest member with a serious look plastered on his face, eyes zoning in on Ken the troublemaker.
Ken had just happily indulged on the chase, sometimes going off of the platform, bouncing himself using the vine, and giving silly faces to his assailant.
Annoyed, Allen cut off the vine Ken mad and watched in satisfaction as the guy fell. Almost.
Ken came back hanging so lazily, waving at his group of friends, as the extension of the vine spun as fast as the blades of a helicopter. That smile once again irritating the hell out of Allen.
He casually held out his hand and said…
“Water Magic: Water Rush.” Ken stared at the jet of water coming his way, gracefully embracing the ‘gift’ his friend gave him, his figure submerged in water, flying on the other direction.
The others can’t help but laugh awkwardly at the situation, this should be normal for them, but sadly, no matter how many times they see these two going on with each other, they can’t help but feel the slight helplessness of the situation.
The people around the area can’t help but feel awkward at the sight, especially when Ken landed on the ground, nothing bothered the guy, and just made the some water blankets and pillows, contentedly laying himself.
But not before pushing his body up, turned towards Master Lana and said…
“Master Lana we’re finished!!!” then returned back to his blanket, snuggling himself comfortably.
The question, ‘How is he not wet?’ circled around the people’s head, certainly they got themselves a bizarre human for a resident. Better than his imposing self, brr, they do not want to witness that once again.
Lana returned the landscape back to its plain field and approached the seventeen young teens for their next activity to do for the rest of the afternoon. Leaving the sleeping teen child back at the side, not bothering to tell another master to attend to the guy,
How could she when sooner or later the kid will join them afterwards. She could only hope that things would be go smoothly for this afternoon, and sigh at the situation that unfolded before her.
The Guardian Avians soldiers must be shocked out of their wits watching as their young masters received that kind of treatment.
