The Third Party - Chapter 102
3rd Person’s POV (12 yrs., 9 months)
Explosions upon explosions of both elemental based and pure mana based spells exploded on the vicinity, even with the set up barrier, the shockwaves of the spells being thrown by the two people scared them.
It was like watching two Masters on par with each other’s strength, neither rising or falling behind the other.
Initially the scene inspired awe in the hearts on the field, slowly but surely, their belief turned uncertain of the situation, why do they still keep on going with such spells? And with such large quantities and large effects, surely their mana would have been depleted by now.
Five minutes passed and the onslaught of explosions continued. The seven red uniformed teens unconsciously gulped or wiped their sweat.
The situation before them making them realize, that the person they had ‘offended’ was this monstrously strong
“Don’t get all salty now. Earth Magic: Earth Spikes.” A line of spikes relative to Ken’s height burst from the ground heading straight for Saber.
“I think you’re the one going salty.” commented Saber, easily dodging the spikes in the form of his body fading in smoke.
“Am I?” with a shout and a gesture of his two hands grasping nothing, the line of spike exploded, followed by a wide spread sharp rocks onslaught, covering everything inside the barrier.
Both Master Ras and Saber jumped high, the spikes almost reaching the height of the trees.
“Gotcha.” Ken said in a playful tone, raised both hands and chanted. “Lightning Magic: Plasma Gun.” another magic circle the circumference of 30 meters appeared before him, releasing a devastating blast of compressed lightning.
The loud boom snapping out the people from their own thoughts, but instead of crying or running away from the area, the kids cheered, while the males shouted in glee, the females did not know how to feel.
For them, this was an ordinary thing to happen in their daily lives, for who wouldn’t get used to such a spectacle of spells, they could even remember how scared they were when a similar situation happened before them.
But it wasn’t the same for the other seven. Celine turned to Heath and turned worried, the guy is extremely pale and unwilling, sweat furiously trickling down his face.
“Heath, are you okay?” she asked, Heath turning to her in a stuttering fashion. He wanted to speak that he was okay, but every time his mouth opened, no sound would come out.
The emotions he was exuding was quite alarming for Celine, for learning of shadow magic made her sensitive of the negative energies around, enabling her to use such energies or choose to disperse them.
It was both a bad and good experience for her. Nevermind that, she needs to help out Heath. Walking hastily to his side, Celine placed her hand on the guy’s forehead and released a wave of soothing energy.
One she was taught by both her parents -and later enhanced by Ken and the Masters-.
Nature magic had always been with her ever since, focusing more on healing and growth, but knowing that it was not something she could only rely on to protect her family, acquiring different powers were necessary.
She smiled to herself. Grateful that in the many times she’s concluded to herself that nature magic was useless, Ken opened her eyes for her, that not everything we have about ourselves both good and bad are designed to stay the way they are.
He made her grateful for the gifts she has now, and using it for the good of the people or a person is something of greater satisfaction.
“Please listen to my voice.” the dazed look on Heath’s face seized, as he looked into Celine’s eyes. “Take deep long breaths to calm yourself down.” Heath following unconsciously as the girl before him looked at him warmly, guiding him.
“How are you feeling?” she asked.
“I-I’m okay now, thank you.” he replied, Celine giving him an even warmer smile.
“You’re welcome.” retracting her hand from his head. “Now shall we start training?” a scream echoed nearby. Riyah holding onto Erick, the boy shivering profusely as if he fell under a sickness.
Celine recognizing this situation can’t help but sigh worriedly.
“Right before I help out with them.” entering into thought of what she might do, before stopping abruptly, and turning around. “Why don’t you come help me, I recall our mana’s are compatible with each other.”
That made Heath blush, but quickly hid his face downcast, nodding to Celine’s offer.
“Great!” she cheerfully walked towards Riyah followed by Heath, who’s expression turned back to normal.
‘Seriously, the onslaught of spells are still ongoing? How frustrated is he that we wouldn’t stop tormenting our guests with his mastery in magic?’ thought Allen to himself, looking at the other six new students of their group.
Him silently giving magic support to Neo whom he had approached first as he was the nearest, a hand on the guy’s forehead, similar to Celine’s technique, the other almost drowsing off to sleep.
“Hey wake up.” Neo snapped out of his trance and embarrassingly looked the other direction, his brain incapable of forming a single sentence.
‘Good thing he always likes to remind us to keep tabs with our overall health, even the health of other people.’ he once again sighed to himself.
The same method of healing were applied to all the new students, albeit with a little reluctance on Ace’s side, but luckily, they were all able to help as much as they can, but there’s no knowing the extent of how their thoughts progressed.
Leading them to different directions in their own conclusions, but there was something they had in common.
‘I MUST GROW STRONGER.’
The culprit of the situation getting an earful from Allen, and a little bit of a chop on his head. The one receiving the punishment pleading so pitifully at their leader.
Thankfully, the group was able to return to their class without the excessive amount of mana being used, and as a punishment, Ken was left to fight off three Masters by himself.
A proposition he himself suggested. Seriously what kind of absurd ideas are these?!
When the seven people watched as Ken held off on his own against the three Masters, they concluded that yep, there is no chance for them of ever going to be disrespectful to this person now is there.
JUST LOOK AT ALL THE DAMAGE BEFORE THEM! Even going far as turning invisible with the sheer speed they were portraying.
‘That’s it, I’m done, I’ll just focus on myself.’ thought Hendrix to himself, showcasing his swordsmanship against Wilbert. The guy putting up a good fight against him even though the other’s style looked sloppy to him.
Accommodation was not a problem for the new guests and their soldiers, halfway into the afternoon, Ken excused himself when the thought of building a house entered his mind.
Without hesitation, he asked for permission and went on his merry ways, skipping like he just got a golden ticket to skip class.
“Where’s he off to?” asked Neo to Glen, the two taking a bit of rest under the shade of a tree, their sparring session exhausting Neo tremendously, as if his partner was not affected of their tiresome engage.
“I don’t know, but it looks fun.” replied Glen.
“What?” confused, Neo looked at the guy, a brow perked up.
“Just look at him skipping, isn’t that fun.” explained Glen.
“O…kay.” Glen gave the guy a pout, Neo can’t help feeling conflicted seeing this guy doing that. The two entering a back and forth of awkwardness when they have different views in and of itself, being thrusted into a conversation of both parties not understanding each other.
After the session, Ken returned with a passion, insisting on the Avian people to follow him, to the place where he built something. Yes, to what he built, with help from the townspeople he had gathered.
“I hope you enjoy your home away from home, you may be able to transfer your stuff to the cottages anytime.” said Ken before excusing himself and going to the rest of the cottages he built, a total of seven.
He just thought of building seven because… why not. Four of which are slightly larger but he knows that it can accommodate all the soldiers since he has taken a head count before he left.
The left three are for the young masters, they can decide for themselves where they want to room. Of course since they are young masters, giving them a little bit of extra accommodation wouldn’t hurt.
“Hey Ken, where are you going.” called Flin and walking besides the guy.
“To check on the other houses.” Ken replied.
“Why?” the other inquired.
“I don’t know, to see if the water is running? Make sure the utensils are prepared? Basically anyone could need inside a house.” Flin nodded as the two continued walking to the other houses. The sight of two people with long hair and exceptional beauty was…
A sight to behold, for most of them.
The group entered the first of the three small cottages and looked in awe at the interior before them, it was… They don’t know how to describe it, for it’s very different from the type of house they have.
Even more so for Ken’s friends who decided to stay and take a look. They haven’t seen this mo… me… Okay, they also do not know the word, they’re just gonna conclude that it’s fancy, with all the lighting and good looking design.
Ken took the inspiration of a modern house from his previous life, and made a tad bit of a noble man’s house design. The result, a cool ambiance but with that tinge of familiarity, engaging people to think that the room feels somewhat familiar to theirs.
The soldiers got themselves what could only be called a modern dormitory, which they had like to call a boot camp, since they haven’t seen something so fancy before, and was supposed to be their home for as long as they’d stay here.
As indicated by a letter left at the front desk.
Soon, the people had settled down, Ken and Flin rejoined their friends after Ken had checked that the houses he built were in good condition, stocked with the things they would be needing.
“Right, there’s something I forgot to tell you Captain.” he said, addressing Captain Erwin. Ken told the guy of the procedure on how to acquire their food, either by hunting or asking for some of the harvest from the townspeople.
“Why would we need to plant our own?” Erwin asked, thinking of it as a hassle since they can just request some supplies from their respective houses.
“A little bit of precautionary Captain, but it’s up to you whether you’ll take the advice or not.” Ken clasped his hands. “Anyway, that would be all the things I want to say, thank you for your time, and do remind the young masters to be at the training field at 7 A.M. sharp, classes starts at that hour.”
Erwin nodded in gratitude, both people standing up from the living room, Ken bowing once again to the person before him, and went on his merry ways.
The next day came, but it was not what the seven young masters expected, they could not get out of bed, their bodies aching all over as if they have undergone a seven day pure training regime.
It was up to the Masters and Soldiers to see how the new students are doing, only ending up at this particular sight
‘Oh boy, I think we have gone overboard yesterday.’ thought Lana to herself, a hand above Gill’s body with a green magic circle, using recovery magic on the poor boy. The ever so curious students were also present at the side watching their masters do their work.
Master Dawn was also present, asking her of her expertise in the field of recovery and healing, she alongside Rena and Lana both tending to the seven students.
‘Who knew this was what it’s going to go.’ the captains could only thought for themselves, lost in what to do.
The days ran by with the seven newcomers slowly integrating themselves with the way these people go on with their day to day life, slowly but surely, and painfully, they were getting used to the morning training regime presented before them.
Or at least that was what they were thinking.
Thankfully, they have the other soldiers to share in on their pain as well. Erwin getting curious at the exercises executed by the teens and brought it upon themselves to join in on the ‘fun’.
Only to end up finding for themselves the exact situation their young masters were in the day after. Surprisingly, they bounced back on the third day, all eager to train their bodies and grow stronger besides the students.
A strange development Klein wasn’t prepared about, but the kind he welcomed with open arms. Two more weeks passed with the slow normal life in the valley, Friday came, the students and soldiers ever more so excited for this particular day.
For they have made an appointment to go to the beach and have fun, but with Ken in the bunch, he still insisted to train in the water. One they didn’t think much about, wonder what he’s up to this time, considering him, they were just gonna battle using water magic at least.
Right?
All of the eighteen students along with the three platoons of the captains were present in the morning, ready to start the morning exercise.
“Hey, I wanted to ask, how did you get all the seven newcomers to participate in our drills?” asked Saber beside Ken, the other happily basking underneath the morning sun.
“Hm? Oh, I threatened them.” replied Ken, a cheeky smile on his face. Saber did not know how to react to what his friend said, so he continued on staring at Ken, but no matter how much he tried to find another meaning behind the words the other said, he could not find a trace of a lie.
He sighed softly, but one that looked like he was just exhaling with the monotonous look on his face, no eyes blinking, or head tilting forward, just plain old switching of his gaze towards the seven.
Poor people, guess he’ll just accept it as it is.
A flap of wind suddenly descended upon them, the force behind the push was something they did not expect, but something they withstood seconds later. All but looked above them to see a giant red dragon.
Surprise was evident on everyone’s faces, even the Masters, but not for the Princess, sighing to herself.
“Hm? Is there something wrong your highness?” asked Riyah beside her.
“Nothing, it’s just that.” she took a look at the descending dragon on the open field. “This is…” a person jumped down from behind the back of the dragon revealing a man of great proportions.
In height, looks, build, and hair, a golden red color, one that was unusual to look at but looked perfect for the person. Clad in glittering clothing, fit for that of… a King?
“My father.” ever so softly she spoke, but Riyah still heard her, the girl’s eyes widened in recognition, looking at the man- she means, at Princess Lang’s Father, sprouting a charming smile at them.
Lang took a glance at that smile and can’t help but groan to herself, the person beside her in conflict as to what her friend is feeling, she kind of felt awkward for it felt like her highness didn’t want to see her father.
‘Ahehe…’ Riyah scratching her nose.
