The Third Party - Chapter 57
3rd Person’s POV (12 yrs. and 8 months old)
Magical beasts with features of Bear, Lion, Tiger, Mermaid/Merman, Turtle, Wolf, Octopus, Ant, and Bee, all came out from the light circles all in their human forms. Klein looked below and saw Felsin, who spoke earlier gaining their attention.
“Light Magic: Domain of the North.” A magic circle appeared abruptly above everyone’s head, including those magical beasts that appeared through the yellow circles, they were smirking as they are familiar of this spell and are wondering whom are the unfortunate people to concur the wrath of its conjurer.
Without delay, the magic circle glowed brightly once in a split second, before revealing everything to be illuminated, as if angels had descended on the battlefield and are gracing them with their holiness.
Instead of marveling, the demons felt that a portion of their power had been sapped and as they stare in front of them, the surroundings seemed to appear even brighter than before, in a split second, light rays ascended from a focal point, and that focal point was Felsin.
The light rays suddenly bended high up the sky and bombarded the location where the demons where at, and just like that, the surroundings, returned to normal, The ten magical beasts landed on the ground near Felsin, and engaged in a warm talk with one another.
Klein and the others approached the beasts talking to each other, carrying along with them the question of how those people can talk in such a manner if they’re in a serious situation, as for Raze and company, they’re just confused, but went along with Klein anyway.
“Felsin, you’re back, along with…” Klein paused, to take in the faces of these familiar people, the ones he thought he wouldn’t get to see once again. “Ros, Kilean, Nazir, Rena, Abel, Oldin, Harth, Kara, Mira, Dawn…”
He felt his voice stuck in his throat as he could not believe that his friends are here and well, after what happened 12 years ago. Wait, huh? Aren’t they supposed to be sealed within the houses? What happened to the barrier? Klein thought.
Lana, Ulysses, Alfred, Erick, and Vin had same thoughts as they also knew what happened 12 years ago. A plethora of emotions washed over them as familiarity and a sense of longing welled within their chests, and the wonder at the possibility of this moment coming true.
It is true, as true as the day they found out that someone was capable of turning everything upside down with magic.
“Wait, what happened to the barrier?” asked Lana, but before any of them could answer her question, or at the very least try too, ominous energy spread around them suddenly, not allowing them the time of day to settle themselves as what seems to be dark mist assaulting their nostrils.
Immediately all of them jumped away from one another, for the feeling of energy fluctuation bombarded their previous location, most of them floated in mid-air while Raze and his two warriors evaded to the side.
True to their instincts, the place they were seconds ago, exploded in dark mist, covering a dome shape of about ten meter circumference, the mist dissipated revealing dead grass and cracked ground.
All of them looked at the source of the power and saw a demon malevolently looking at them, furiously huffing and puffing, the once flawless structure, and noble posture of the demon lord was washed away, replaced with a creature twisted by the dark red energies of the Demon World.
But the scenery only occurred for a brief moment, as the power that once plunged the surroundings into darkness has ceased, leaving behind a bloody atmosphere, carrying with it the promise of death.
The demon lord Rize, composed himself for a brief moment before he loses all sense of control and start lunging at any given opportunity to make the lives of these people before him miserable, but he cannot go and be cocky, or he’ll lose more than what he bargained for.
Currently he has about 39 demon vanguards, one had foolishly died to the light beams, and about 50 demon slaves, ten of which were used as meat shields by his vanguards to protect him per his orders.
“So, we meet that scoundrel again.” said Ros, the one with the bear features, wearing brown clothing, his upper garments looked to be torn apart as it revealed his arms and chest covered in hair, but not the type were you’d be grossed out by his features as his physique resembles that of a buffed man in his early twenties.
Even his face could still be called handsome despite what looks to be a scar lining his right eye. Brown bear ears were the only ones that were prominent of his beastly features, but if one looked closer, his build resembles that of a grizzly bear.
His companions, nodded at his comment of the matter subtly as they too remembered what that guy did to them just for protecting their territory.
“Shall we return the favor?” said the magical beast with two turtle shells… floating above his sides, his eyes glowed green. He looks to be wearing green leather that gradually darkens on his lower body, but he isn’t wearing any shoes or sandals for that matter, while wearing a large straw hat, something you could resemble farmers use.
“With pleasure.” said the magical beast with a mane of a lion as a cloak, yellow features on his almost looking trench coat clothing as he grabbed something behind his back, and that, was a bow, the color of brown embroidered by yellow lightning streaks.
He did not even care that his face was exposed, looking downright excited for the battle to come. The turtle magical beast, named Oldin, caressed one turtle shell with his right hand softly, the lion magical beast, named Kilean, struck his string once to get a feel on it.
“Distract them for us please.” said the magical beast with ant features, clad in silver-red battle armor, her antennae twitching once, surprisingly she doesn’t have big doe eyes, instead hers seem to resemble asian ones, close to the features of Chinese people.
The three magical beasts nodded and landed on the ground. Kilean quickly drawing his bow, a light arrow forming on the receiving ends.
“Lightning Magic: Arrow of Desolation.” The words were softly spoken, but once the arrow was released, explosive power erupted catching the demon off guard, forcing him and his remaining army to back off.
But their reaction was late as the arrow arrived in front of them in mach speed, and had seemingly grown in size, sending all of the demons flying backwards. Their voices stuck in their throat as they seamlessly floated in mid-air, before crashing back down leaving the demon gate behind.
Rize, who immediately recovered from the assault, pulled their demon gate away from the trio slowly approaching it, and threw it far back with his powers. This gate must be extra powerful since they could just move it freely, thought Klein.
“Darkness Magic: Ritual Offering!” casted Rize, this time, catching Klein’s group off guard, a dark red magic circle appeared below the demon gate, and bellow all the demon slaves, in an instant their bodies exploded in a multitude of blood, leaving behind a floating dark red energy.
Just like that, the lives of the 50 demon slaves were turned into energy to further fuel the powers of the demon vanguards and the demon gate as it further grew in size, twice as it was before, now its center red energy, slowly swirling about.
Klein’s group for the second time, felt that another ominous phenomenon draped on their shoulder, as they felt that their strength is slowly being sucked away.
“HAHAHA, you think you’re the only ones who can be intimidating, have a taste of this! Darkness Magic: Oblivion Orb.” dozens of dark red orbs appeared in mid-air around Rize, and started firing off dark beams, bombarding Klein’s group.
They in turn resorted to dodging, by using any means, be it flight, or running, while evading in the process. Contrary to Rize’s belief, the group of magical beasts did not back off from his attack but approached forward while skillfully maneuvering themselves from the assault of dark beams.
The dozen numbers of the people looked like swirling tornadoes as they shifted from flying to running, and to flying again letting the beams bypass them either by sidestepping or taking sharp turns in mid-air.
“Lightning Magic: Tempest Blades.” casted Abel the magical beast Merman as a magic circle appeared below him summoning dark clouds below his figure and above the sky turning the blood-borne battlefield even more deathly.
The clouds in quick succession summoned bolts of lightning as he returned the favor of having rained down multiple spells from earlier, the demons evaded in a hurry at the spell’s advance, coupled with the conjurer and companions approaching paused them for a moment having not thought of the situation,
Leading them to almost getting wiped out or squashed on the ground if they were a second late as the lightning created craters on the ground it had struck. Abel and Rena’s feature only revealed their scaly part of a merman or mermaid,
Having a set of robes with colors intertwining from sky blue as its base, blue as its distinctive feature of lines and embroideries and white inner robes, making them look identical to one another.
The siblings switched position in a hasty manner but looked to be planned out as the demons looked as if a blur had passed on the person’s figure before the electric charges from around the person disappeared replaced by water droplets
“Water Magic: Lunar Wave!” Rena casted as a magic circle appeared below her as she landed on the ground immediately summoning a wave that dreadfully grew in size aiming to drown the demons that escaped her brother’s spell.
The demons jolted in panic at the sudden rise of a spell, but two of them smirked, held hands and charged forward.
“Darkness Magic: Severing Bound.” The two demons separated their hands out came a small ball of dark energy, both pushed the ball forward colliding and instantly the wave seemed to have crashed as it exploded halting it’s advance.
The two demons smirked at their work and looked at the fish people before them mockingly, the sibling beasts only looked at them coldly forgetting the fact that their spells were stopped twice in a row.
But before both pairs could engage in combat, Ras came crashing down, pounding his as big as bear hands on the ground causing cracks to surge on the demon twins, as they both looked the same despite their armor bodies and masked faces, both seem to be women as their physique were lean and had curves on the right places.
Ras did not waste the time of confusion as he lunged forward propelling himself using both hands and feet forward, but quickly as he had moved forward, another demon with what looks to be as equally as buffed as he is, intercepted his pursuit.
The two clashed together with both hands trying to topple the other, the two backed up once then returned fighting, both engaging in a fist fight, trading blow after blow after blow. Ras’s eyes suddenly turned red at what seems to be his 50th punch.
His punches turned even more savage as power welled within him, increasing not only his strength but his speed as well, the demon had trouble keeping up with the punches but with the increase of their power from earlier he more or less was able to keep up, severely paying with bruises here and there.
But not without exchanging blows to his perpetrator as well.
“Darkness Magic: Alighted Blend.” A surge of dark energy welled below the two giants intercepting their attacks and pushing them away from one another, the former covered in his own dark blood, while the latter pissed at the person who decided to intervene in his fight, both dark and red blood coated in his hands.
A demon of what looked to have had his scaly armor resemble that of a robe, held out its thin arms forward, face exposed as his dark red eyes stared at the bloody bear, he conjured what seemed to be a symbol in the air stroking his hand once downward in an ark, and upward vertically.
Out came a dark red magic circle that send out ghouls towards the bear beast.
“Darkness Magic: Haunting Guile.” said the demon, voice of a low monotone, cold and dreadful. The ghouls he summoned shrieked in what seems to be a combination of both ecstasy and sorrow as they dashed forward to try and claw at the skin of their prey.
“Moon Magic: Blessed Moon’s Light.” Silver light was summoned forth from the sky incinerating the ghouls that seek to devour everything in front of them, but the ray did not stop there as it also struck the demon who summoned the ghouls sending it flying backwards, steam rising from its body.
Harth, the magical beast with wolf features appeared in mid-air in silver light and came crashing down in the ground right after he had used his spell, his landing created an energy pulse forward in a cone, and the unsuspecting demon vanguards had themselves blown away a good twenty meters from their initial position.
“Shadow Magic: Vengeance Track.” In quick succession, the demon vanguards that were disoriented from the blast all felt that there were wounds forming on their chests, and when one last beast wound was inflicted on a demon vanguard,
A figure walked out from the shadows and with a tug on his hands the demon vanguards all screamed in pain at the wound that had formed on their chests. Nazir who has the features of a tiger immediately engulfed himself in shadows before reappearing beside Ulysses, his tail waving once in a coy manner.
Having the demons subdued for now, Klein and his group regrouped and stood in front of the demon lord a few meters in front.
“You underestimate us Demon Lord Rize, and you shall pay the price.” said Klein as he and his group took a stance, ready to lunge forward and continue the fight.
“Not so fast.” said the demon lord, smirking. “Darkness Magic: Umbral Grave.” He casted, in an instant, dark blades formed everywhere and around Klein’s group, the spell was casted so abruptly that it didn’t give them time to react as the blades rained down on them.
“You are the ones who should have not underestimated me. See? You’re all-“ -Rize-
“Oh shut up and look closely!” shouted a voice from out of nowhere, Rize frantically looked everywhere, and when he turned left, a scythe was already on to his face, with great reaction, he dodged the blade of the scythe barely, but it still had grazed his cheeks drawing blood.
It did not stop there, as the blade suddenly switched aiming its sharpness at him again, Rize jumped backwards but did not expect to be pushed backwards with so much force that his face contorted in visible pain for right after he had landed, the butt of the scythe, directly thrust itself on the abdomen of Rize.
“Light Moon Magic: Cut of the Crescent Moon!” the scythe conjured a silver light arc forward and hit the demon lord head on without sparing him a chance. At the distance, the magical beasts that got themselves injured by dark blades stared as a scythe before them floated seamlessly.
In an instant, the owner of the scythe manifested itself beside it and landed softly on the ground, he abruptly turned around and quickly approached Klein’s group with a single dash, scythe in hand facing downwards as if carrying a bag.
“Are you okay master?” Ken asked.
“Ken, what are you doing here? I thought your father told you not to fight.” reprimanded Klein. Alfred beside him nodding, Erick slowly patching himself up with healing magic as well as Vin.
“Well, we’ve finished healing the rest of the troops back at the healers station, so I decided to help you and the rest of the adults out instead.” replied Ken nonchalantly, the ten beasts that did not understand why a kid would think of such, stared incredulously at this child.
“And besides, you all looked like you were in a tight situation, why not I help out.” He added, tilting his head lightly to the side, acting all innocent.
“As if that will suffice to your direct disobedience of our order, return back no-“ -Klein-
“With all due respect master, I’m going to help you all out, whether you like it or not, Grand Healing Magic: Restoration.” A magic circle appeared below all of them and in an instant had healed all the wounds the people had sustained from the earlier assault of blades.
“*Sigh* Fine, where are the others?” asked Klein.
“They’re right over… There.” Pointed Ken at the back catching their attention as the adults turned around to look at the kids approaching, running towards their location. Klein glared at Ken.
“Did you convince them to fight too?” he asked, a chill evident on his tone of voice.
“No master, they insisted upon themselves to help out.” replied Ken. Sometimes I really can’t help how much of an influence Ken has over his peers, thought Klein to himself. Ken’s group of friends arrived at their location and Ken happily strutted towards them.
“Okay everyone, Cover me.” He said suddenly, his friends stared at him dumbfounded and confused as to what he meant.
“Here a blanket.” said Saber, as he took out a quilt from his storage space and offered it to Ken. Ken just chuckled at him.
“Not that silly, don’t tell me you guys already forgotten?” he asked, and his friends reluctantly nodded at him. “I meant assist me while I fight with the demons.” Oh, is what his friends thought, while on the other side, they begged to differ, Saber returned the quilt to his storage space.
As they thought. ‘is this supposed to be a thought process of a child?!’
