The Third Party - Chapter 59
3rd Person’s POV (12 yrs. and 8 months old)
All of a sudden, darkness shrouded the area, Allen, Wilbert, and Celine finished healing one another thankfully, and stood up in an instant at the fluctuation of energy before it thoroughly engulfed the surroundings.
Ten center points of energy emerged from certain points around after 19 vanguard demons were killed engulfed in dense dark energies and in a burst of energy ten demon vanguards went out of the densely packed energy.
Clad in more armor, hadn’t risen in size, but the power swelled in a form of aura draping their form, all ten had each a black sword form in front of them, they took the swords and engaged.
Clashing of swords rang out on the field encasing everyone in a deafening noise, but to the ones that received the brunt of the charge, not so much, as they were in far worse condition, all ten, decided to target different beasts, and humans.
Alfred, Vin, Ras, Nazir, Kilian, Lorna, Lana, Trunk, Coralia, and Ulysses, were pushed backwards due to the force, their figures flying across the field, hitting a bunch of trees before stopping, the sudden change in intensity stunned the ten in place, making them unable to react, and had themselves handed over.
The three children that were together stared in wide eyes as they watched their parental figures defeated in one move, they weren’t able to utter any word, as they stood frozen in their spots, fear creeping into their system as they hadn’t felt this type of oppressing power before.
“Kids, retreat now!” shouted Lyn looking at the three’s direction, her voice snapped the three out of their stupor and hurriedly backed away, unfortunately one demon caught wind of the situation and appeared in front of the three in an instant, face cold with killing intent.
Lyn jumped in front of the three and held out her hand in an attempt to protect the three.
“You will not get to them without going through me!” she said, voice laced in anger and confidence, but in the back of her mind, she was anxiously coming up of any type of solution to this situation, just anything she could do to take the kids away from here.
“That one shall be killed.” said the demon, eyes glaring at Wilbert, sending chills down his spine. Without batting an eye, he took away the helmet from his head and smashed it on the ground before dashing forward, missing Lyn.
As if time had slowed down, Lyn followed the demon’s movements too late, turning around only to see the demon, inches away from reaching Wilbert, as the three attempted to run away.
…
Alfred had woken moments later after colliding from three trees and finally formed a crater on the ground. He looked at his surroundings for a brief second and everything came crashing down on him, several of the magical beasts were desperately trying to fight off the demons.
While Raze and his two warriors lay on the ground in their pool of blood relatively beside him. Alfred quickly ran towards the three and kneeled down on their forms.
“You’re highness! Are you okay?” asked Alfred, but he could not trust that they were, after all, blood was soaking in on his clothing. Raze stirred awake albeit slow and weakened, he gazed at his two warriors up front and said…
“Please… Save them…”
“No your highness, you must be treated first!” exclaimed Alfred, voice desperate, as he attempted to heal the King with his magic.
“Don’t worry about me… Go…” said Raze and laid his head on the ground. Alfred stared at the King in shock, all sorts of emotions running to him, but then he remembered the two. He hurriedly went towards them and conjured two green magic circles below them and one below the King.
He kneeled down in front of Riven and Trun, permitting his magic to swell within the three individuals, expertly weaving his magic to repair and rejuvenate the parts that were needed to be healed first.
Slowly, life welled within the mountain lions, as the three stirred awake again but still weak, Alfred felt relief as he was able to stabilize their conditions and offered the three comforting smiles as to say that he got them.
Suddenly as if life and death were arguing, a dark energy emerged from behind him, and the three lions saw as a demon appeared behind Alfred. Alfred turned to look only to see the demon raising his sword, about to cut him down.
…
“Water Magic: LEVIATHAN ORDEAL!” shouted Klein as a huge magic circle the color of blue appeared below him, the radius of 50 meters. And out came 15 water serpents the same size as the magic circle simultaneously passing through him and hovered above in the air.
The serpents permitted one roar before turning down to the size proportional to Klein’s and circled around him.
“Pathetic.” said the demon he was facing and rushed towards him, intent on finishing this fight as soon as possible, not paying mind to the 15 serpents around Klein.
Klein gestured his serpents to attack, and the 15 intercepted the demon. The demon sliced off one serpent, then two, then three, then four, and now, confidently dashed forward to intercept the remaining five.
Klein smirked at the demon, and in a clenching gesture of his right hand, the five remaining serpents that were almost in contact to the demon bursts apart resulting in five huge water explosions.
The demon who was caught off guard flew backwards as the impact of the explosion was not something he thought off, he landed on the ground and tried to stand up, but he fell back down, and when he looked down, he saw several large wounds on his body.
He thought to himself how that was possible when he was supposed to be literally invincible at this point, he looked at his opponent again and had his eyes wide when the Continental Snake was now in front of him, crouching to his eye level.
“I thank my student for teaching me a neat trick.” Klein said, and tapped the forehead of the demon making a blue glow form. “And you shall be the first to experience it, be honored.” He added.
The demon felt nothing but the abrupt shrinking of the figure as if he just blinked away in seconds. Suddenly, energy welled within him, the energy rose in intensity and he wasn’t able to keep it in, resulting in a blue light shining from him.
In an instant the demon’s body burst open living nothing within, even the limbs and organs weren’t left as they all but scattered as blood all over the place. Klein created a shield in front of him to stop the blood from coating his cloths.
“This should be enough for them to slowly regenerate, and in that state, I’m sure it’d be a lot slower.” Concluded Klein to himself, and disappeared elsewhere.
At another location just beside the cylinder of wind, Felsin was leisurely fighting one of the demon vanguards that suddenly turned into two, as another one joined in to fight him, coupled with the fact that he’s fighting bare handed and his light magic, this ganging up is unfair.
But he just smiled it off as he continued to evade and parry at the same time using light swords, he jumped backward, flung the swords in mid-air towards the demon to which they quickly blocked away, and dashed forward to intercept Felsin’s landing.
Already knowing what those two demons he infuriated moments ago, he held out his hands in front while barely landing and calmly chanted…
“Light Magic: Daybreak.” A huge ball of light appeared in front of him at the speed of light catching the two demons off guard, and when they inevitably collided the ball of light, it exploded causing a flash of light to cover almost everywhere.
When the flash subsided, Felsin was left standing with six light blades, three on each side of him, and no more demons in sight. Since the demons were noticeably weaker to the light element, one could think the fate they endured after colliding with that huge ball of light head first.
Felsin already knew the answer, and that the two demons were disintegrated into nothing, except for a pair of feet on the ground, which he quickly disposed of with two beams of light from his six swords.
He took a glance at his surroundings and sure enough he could see other magical beasts in combat with the other five demons. Although having more difficulty in fighting them.
He witnessed as Klein took out one demon from earlier and had joined the others on fighting the other five, although having a hard time, Felsin quickly teleported to the place where Klein had killed that demon and soon enough the blood on the ground was slowly worming it’s way to the center.
“Demons, why don’t they just die.” He muttered to himself and used a light beam to take care of the rest, effectively killing the demon that was trying to regenerate. Thankfully it hadn’t fully regenerated its organs, else it would have still been a gross clean up.
‘Where are the other two demons?’ he thought to himself, reaching his gaze on the cylinder of wind, and sounds of clashing coming from within.
“Wind Magic: Swarm of Blades.” Chanted Dawn, the magical beast with a bee feature having wings that flapped in milliseconds, but lacking the stinger and the big eyes, actually, just like Mira, she doesn’t have big doe eyes, just regular ones you could see on a normal human.
She was wearing what looked to be a cloak of green and a yellow plain dress while holding a staff that looks like a branch. Her form may look burly to anyone but still permits beauty from within and outside.
Her spell conjured several tornados around her and blocked the darkness beam that the demon had released, but her tornados didn’t stop there as they rushed forwards to assault and encase the demon in a cage made out of tornados.
“Mira, Now!” she said.
“Right! Sword Art: Rendering Guile!” Mira appeared in front of the demon in lightning speed and performed a series of twelve jabs in total at one spot of the demon and slashed twice in a cross before jumping backwards.
The slashes created cracks to form on the demon’s armor, and in no time, the demon was split in half vertically, then another half horizontally. The demon growled at his oppressors and broke free from the tornado cage.
But before he could retaliate a light beam from above came crashing down on his form, slowly disintegrating him to nothing, he screamed in agony and crawled forward to try and free himself from the beam but it was too late as the hand he reached out also got burned off.
The two beasts looked behind them only to find Lana, clutching at her side, with her right hand held out, blood pouring out from her wound that she so desperately tried to stop with her left hand.
Immediately the two went beside her and helped her stop the bleeding, Mira instantly performed healing magic, slowly but surely stopping the blood from flowing and closing the wound. Kara appeared beside the three abruptly as she conjured a purple barrier around them.
The barrier blocked a dark beam that was clearly directed at them. Kara nonchalantly shrugged the beam off as it bounced back to the demon, hitting it hard on the chest.
“You guys should really know how to pay attention to your surroundings.” She said, chuckling, her what looked to be a torn purple dress adorned with different shining materials and upon close inspection where shards of tiny broken glass, flowed on her.
She turned around and snuck out a tentacle below her dress to Lana’s shoulder trailing towards her chest, feeling if there’s anything wrong with her, and fortunately the healing magic from earlier did the trick.
One thing to note about her is that she’s a very great healer and a protector as she mostly focuses on defensive and supportive spells despite being an octopus magical beast.
“Take her somewhere safe, we’ll handle this.” She said, and made the barrier disappear, she took one step forward and held her right hand as a magic circle the color of purple appeared.
“Enchant Magic: Curse of the Sea Witch.” Purple translucent tentacles oozed out of the magic circle before striking out towards the disoriented demon, wrapping itself on the demon and causing ten purple chains to strike the ground before disappearing.
Suddenly the demon felt some kind of heaviness as he tried to take a step forward, even his limbs seem to be very heavy as he tried to lift it with much difficulty. Mira and Down immediately fled from the scene to tend to Lana.
“Moon Magic: Moonstruck.” Chanted Harth, and out of nowhere moonlight dawned on the demon before Harth appeared behind and struck with what looks to be light claws, but if one would look closer, the claws were filled with moon energy giving it a silver light.
The demon roared in anger and swung his blade in an arc behind him, Harth jumped backwards to avoid the blade but he didn’t give the demon the time to recover as he was unto the demon with a push on the ground.
He performed three strikes each, bypassing the demon’s form, as the demon slowly kneeled down defeated unable to move. The surroundings returning to its former lighting.
“Moon Magic: Blessed Moon’s Light.” Without looking back Harth rained down a single beam of moonlight on the demon, effectively killing and destroying the said demon. He approached Kara and the two hurried to where Mira and Down took Lana.
‘Two down, five more to go, now where are-.’ Felsin felt the stench of death looming from the distance, this particular one struck him hard as he knows that he had left a light spell on all of his friends and their disciples or children,
This one in particular was something he was quite familiar, he looked at his right and smelled a familiar scent of blood, Allen’s. His eyes widened and rushed forward, confusing Klein as the two were fighting the three demons left, or at least the ones they could see.
In two strides behind a thick bush he emerged to see… Allen raised from the ground by another demon, Lyn at the distance shackled, Wilbert and Celine, lying on the ground, bruised and wounded, looking lifeless.
“NO!” he shouted, at the same time a shout could be heard from a distance. Felsin looked at his left and in an instant silver light passed by him, and when he looked at the demon, someone was holding it on the air.
“I don’t understand why so many of you decided to forget about me just because I was fighting with your leader, but don’t think for a second that you could think of forgetting about me! I’m still here IDIOTS!” said Ken, almost as if two person’s had said this as Felsin heard another voice from a distance.
Ken, or what supposed to be Ken as he was clad in white robes, looked at Felsin and smiled, then abruptly turned to the demon he was holding in his hands, he threw the demon to the side, and while the demon was in mid-air he charged forward brandishing his scythe.
“Light Moon Magic: Fluttering Light Scythe.” He did not give the demon the time of day and immediately performed 16 strikes in mid-air leaving the demon to its demise as it fell down to the ground in pieces.
Ken landed a relative distance ahead of the demon, but his shoulders shook and turned towards the demon, eyes blazing with silver essence, he walked to the demon almost in a tantrum and wanted to stab the demon more times as his anger flared at what this demon had done to his friends.
Felsin was about to stop him sensing anger within Ken and to make him listen to reason, but he wasn’t able to when Ken stopped himself, slowly withdraw his blade, and placed it on his back. Suddenly Ken opened wide his arms, stared into the sky and shouted…
“Light Moon Magic: MOON’S RAY!” tremendous magic power crashed down on the demon’s form as the moon beam disintegrated the demon’s form into nothing, the scenery happened in seconds, but to Felsin, it felt like a lifetime as he could not fathom the power behind that spell.
From a distance he saw a similar one just as this beam finished destroying the demon, the other beam finished just as fast as it arrived leaving a somewhat solemn surroundings as droplets of silver light seemed to form around Ken.
“Ke-“ Felsin wasn’t able to finish his sentence when Ken’s form suddenly broke into pieces, Felsin immediately rushed forward and upon close inspection this Ken was actually made of ice, as he felt the cold energies still seeping out of the blocks and pieces of the broken puppet.
*Cough!*
Felsin turned around just to see as Lyn coughed up blood and let herself lay down on the ground, ahead of her was Allen trying to crawl towards Wilbert and Celine. Felsin immediately knew what he has to do this time, and that is to save these four people’s lives.
Immediately four magic circles appeared below the four people before him and slowly but surely, Felsin healed their wounds, letting their minds at ease, Allen stopped crawling just as he felt his body being soothed, he looked at Felsin once with gratitude in his eyes and fell asleep.
On a similar note, Alfred watched the fight of his son as Ken trampled over the demon despite being extremely hard for them with wide eyes, only did he returned to his stupor as Ken hugged him and told him to continue healing the three mountain lions before breaking down as ice.
Just like Felsin, Alfred stared in disbelief as he saw his son crumble down, he thought that Ken must’ve used too much magic that’s why he died, Alfred wanted to scream and or cry, because before Ken had given him his last message, Ken looked so distant as if he was going to move to a different place.
But upon close inspection, Alfred found out that it was just a pile of broken ice that he was seeing, and not his son, he felt stupid for his predicament and wanted to just run away and hide, or let the ground open wide and bury him alive for his way of thinking.
He still continued healing the three mountain lions despite the embarrassing thought, the three, wondering why this person seems to be shy right now, acting all flustered and stupid at the same time.
Meanwhile the fight between Ken and Rize still raged on.
“This is your end brat!” shouted Rize, blade raised high ready to strike Ken down, looking at him from the ground. Ken just smirked making Rize’s face contort in anger.
“I don’t think so.” said Ken and effortlessly dodged Rize’s strike to which he had claimed to have been a move faster than the speed of light. Now imagine what that had made him look like.
