The Third Party - Chapter 61
3rd Person’s POV (12 yrs. and 8 months old)
Before anyone could pick up the sleeping form of the boy on the ground a magic pulse with a visible color of white originated from Ken outwards, the group looked away and saw as the magic pulse stopped in mid-air and with one shine, solidified.
That’s when they realized a barrier was formed, and when Ken’s friends looked back at him, they saw the process of a vines creeping to his form and a pillow of leaves slowly forming from the ground beneath his head.
“This is bad.” said Allen to no one in particular, but his friends heard him, they all had immediately taken a step back, and when they saw each other’s mirroring movements, they each knew what to do.
All of them all but jumped back a good ten meter distance away from their initial position that was relatively near Ken, the adults looked at them in confusion, but Coralia and Trunk remembered and immediately dashed on opposite directions as they were together,
Now the adults are even more confused, thinking what were their companions and kids doing. They all watched as Coralia and Trunk also dashed suddenly away from each other, they looked at one another looking for answers but just shrugged at each other.
“Father! Step away from Ken!” shouted Allen a relative distance away.
“Why?!” Klein shouted back.
“Or you’ll get caught in-.” Allen wasn’t able to finish what he was about to say when a fluctuation of energy amassed atop Ken and burst outwards in flames, the action happened so suddenly that the adults weren’t able to prepare themselves as they braced for impact.
The flame burst came with a flash that wanted to blind anyone directly looking at it, thus everyone shielded their eyes from the said flash of light. The kids opened their eyes to see the adults flying in the air as they got pushed backwards from the force the flames produced.
Three such adults collided with three of the students, namely Alfred landing on top of Allen, Rena rolling along with Princess Lang, and Ulysses head-butting Glen’s stomach, all six of them were heard groaning but one could only imagine the impact on Glen’s stomach was, a much more unbearable pain, perhaps.
“Oh dear.” commented Coralia, looking at the state her friends are in, some were dangling on trees, while most were lying on the ground .
“We have to help them.” said Allen appearing beside her, just as Trunk did.
“Agreed.” Trunk said, they didn’t have to worry about those kids anymore as they are aware of how obnoxious the kids dynamics are, their main concern of the moment, are how they are going to inform the adults of what to do in this situation.
-Inside Ken’s Subconscious-
“Why am I here again, wasn’t I just fighting the demon lord?” said Ken, frustrated at the sudden change in surroundings, but this time, he suddenly noticed on the corner of his vision a ball of black and white.
“What’s this?” He moved close to it, feeling for the black and white orb. “White? Where are you?”
“Right here.” Ken looked at his left and White manifested slowly.
“Oh.” He paused for a moment. “What’s this?” he asked. White also doesn’t know what this ball of black and white in front of them and went silent for a moment, not remembering that he could just use his powers to check on the ball, both their thoughts running astray.
“I’m not a ‘this’.” Ken and White’s attention abruptly turned towards ball as it slowly expanded in size and expunged, opening up like a flower caressed under the morning sun.
A person stepped out of the flower of harmonizing colors of black and white, clad in white and black robe, mainly having the white as the main theme and the black as intricate designs on the chest, at the edges, and on the cuffs.
The robe hugged the person’s body tightly, but snugly, the person took of a mask on their face and it revealed a handsome man’s face, he had a long white hair, Ken stared dumbfounded at the man, thinking for a moment what is going on.
One thing was sure thought, he doesn’t recognize the face, he doesn’t recognize the robes, all in all he doesn’t recognize this man, though he could pass as the same age as his parents, wait, why was this man in his subconscious anyway?!
Ken immediately backed off, took a stance, conjured two ice knives looking at the man coldly. White hovering beside him.
“*chuckle* You don’t have to be alarmed of me Ken, my blessed child, or should I call you, ‘Transmigrator’.” Ken’s attention immediately got peeked as he once again stared dumbfounded at the man before him, his brain going haywire.
Mainly thinking how he failed to cover his real identity. Ken snapped himself out of his stunned state forcefully while shaking his head.
“How do you know that?” asked Ken, this time, in an even colder tone.
“You don’t recognize me? Even after I told you that you’re my blessed child?” said the man.
“Huh?” that’s when Ken realized, he flushed red, for forgetting that important detail, his temperament towards the man, slowly turned soft, embarrassed at his rude behavior. “You’re the moon?” he asked.
“Yes, dear one, and I have delivered you a letter correct? Then I don’t think I need to introduce my name, surely my blessed one would remember it.” said the man, Ken didn’t mind the imposing tone the said man used as he was wracking his brain for that memory.
“Luna?” Ken asked in disbelief. “But isn’t that a woman’s name?” greatly offending the said man, or should we now say, Luna. Ken waved off the knives he conjured and leaned to the side slightly while his right arm rests on his hip.
“I’ll have you know that I’m proud of my name. Can’t say the same to you, with the long hair and all.” rebutted the man.
“I’d like to return the statement back as it mostly resembles you.” said Ken coyly.
“You-.” said the flustered man.
“Before you’d go and act all childish at me, what are you doing here in my subconscious anyway?” said Ken, abruptly stopping the man from stomping like a child, immediately he composed himself and turned towards Ken, like the dignified man he was, or god.
“I’m here to reassess the task I left to you on the piece of parchment, my prophecy, I want you to find my descendants of the moon earlier, the Moon Wolves.” said Luna.
“Why? Considering that I have scoured this valley already, only the Moon Wolf named Harth is the only one I know of.” replied Ken, for in truth, he had already scoured this valley, and not a single moon wolf he has found.
Except for the esper wolves since he thought they were ordinary wolves in the past.
“Aren’t you forgetting something?” said Luna.
“What?” Luna stared at him in earnest, Ken stared at him in confusion, Luna rolled his eyes and showed him a picture of the caves entrances atop the northern village through the use of clairvoyance.
“Oh, you mean the caves?” said Ken.
“Exactly, since you broke that demon lord’s barrier, other leaders of the magical beasts were able to help you in your fight against the demons. I’m curious, how were you able to break the barrier?” said Luna, Ken felt like he’s being scrutinized, but he paid it no mind and said…
“Is the barrier that important?” Ken asked.
“Yes, because twelve years ago, in your timeline, that particular demon lord sacrificed two other demon lords to create that barrier that formed on the caves of the northern village,
Effectively cutting off all the other magical beasts that could rival the powers of the demons, but he made one crucial mistake upon casting that spell, he didn’t include your master.” said Luna. Ken felt his distaste for the demons worsen from that piece of information.
“Let me guess, the two had a fight were both were equal in terms of strength but my master and his companions fended off the demon to the demon realm?” said Ken.
“Great guess, as expected of my blessed one.” said Luna. ”Now tell me, how were you able to break the barrier.”
“What, did you have a hard time deciphering the barrier yourself?” asked Ken, stunning the god for the unexpected retort of the child, how is this kid so full of himself? Doesn’t he know that I’m the reason he can use so many elements, he should just answer my question!
Ken stared at the contorted face of his supposedly god who blessed him as the child of the moon and can’t help but chuckle at what he had done, he had only gone and teased the god, hoping to steer up his state of mind, and it looks like he succeeded.
Ken chuckled lightly and said…
“Well, since you already know that I’m a transmigrator, I used my power as a transmigrator.” He cheekily smiled at Luna.
“You’re bluffing, I thought that transmigrator thing was only a joke.” said Luna, Ken doesn’t know if this man… or god, is offended or not.
“Hmmmm… What will it take to make you believe me… Ahh, how about this.” Ken held his hand out, a fluctuation of energy formed in front of his outstretched hand. “Concept: Shackled Connections.”
White chains sprung out of colorless and runeless magic circles a total of ten around Luna and entangled him, but still in his own position and posture. Luna didn’t feel anything in particular and raised his eyebrow at Ken, seemingly saying ‘is that the best you can do?’
Ken smirked.
“Would you please try moving your limbs dear moon god?” said Ken, and move he did, but Luna felt that he wasn’t able to move his arms, he tried again, this time his legs, but it didn’t budge as well.
“What did you do?” asked Luna, but not in anger but in bewilderment, he hasn’t encountered such power before that transcended his own understanding, even his own powers are sealed.
“I just sealed every single part that connected you to your body and powers using my power of ‘Concept’ that I got from transmigrating.” Ken explained.
“Extraordinary.” said Luna absent-mindedly, Ken heard the compliment and thanked the god in his mind, and released him from the white shackles as the chains and the magic circles disappeared.
“Now I don’t have to wonder how you were able to break that barrier I almost had to intervene had it not for your master stepping into the occasion. I think that would be all that I want to say to you, I’ll be off then.” said Luna and was about to turn around.
“Great! Considering that there are Moon Wolves in one of the caves of the 34 houses, then your mission is as easy as pie.” said Ken to no one in particular, Luna abruptly turned towards him with a condescending look.
“No, you have to find all the moon wolves across the planet of Terres.” said Luna.
“What?! How am I supposed to find them? Are they in large numbers or small? If their numbers are large then are they scattered or are there key points were I can go and find them, I can’t just go around willy nilly without directions, I have a mission to uphold as well.” said Ken, Luna stared wide eyed at his blessed one and since when did this blessed one ever had any other missions besides the other.
“First of, I have already given you a method to find the other moon wolves, use the moon flower, second they are in large numbers just well hidden within the shadows, and third, yes they are scattered all throughout the globe,
But their numbers are quickly dwindling, so I would like for you to find them and bring them to the valley as soon as possible, and what’s with your other tasks, aren’t my given tasks the same as the tasks given by that ball of White?” said Luna, annoyance but a little bit of reprimanding tone evident on his voice.
Ken opened his mission/quest window and scoured through the tasks he had to do and found that the tasks given to him were all similar in terms of places he would go, now he felt stupid for doing so.
Ken bowed three times as an apology to the god that bestowed him his moon powers and cab’t help but be embarrassed of his actions. White beside him does not know what to feel for this host and addressed Luna instead.
“Anyway Luna, thanks for coming to visit us today, although I could have just visited you, that would be a lot more convenient for you.” Luna shrugged of White’s statement.
“No worries White, in fact, I had every intention to come visit myself so that I could see how have my blessed child have grown over the years, and clearly, the years had showed many aspiring results.” said Luna.
Ken felt proud from the bottom of his heart from the compliment the moon god said of him, but he did not straighten his back and protruded his chest proudly but just smiled, head tilted slightly to the side.
“Thank you, moon god Luna, it was nice meeting you and for giving me the chance to be your blessed child.” Luna nodded lightly at Ken’s statement and said…
“I’ll be off then, take care both of you.” Luna turned around and went the same way he arrived, through the ball of white and black, the flower enveloped Luna’s formed as it returned to being a large ball into a small ball, while Ken waved at him.
“Now how should we go about our next step since we already know that we are ready to travel to the kingdom this time.” said Ken, turning to White.
“Transitioning their life will not be easy, but for you it would be since you’re this… adaptive, anyway, we have to find them an experience that will teach them about the cultures of humans, since your practices with your family are still lacking in terms of societal functions.” said White.
Ken caressed his chin with his right hand rested atop his left arm hugging his stomach.
“You’re right, hmmm….. Ahh, I know just the thing.” said Ken and snapped his fingers. White stared at him curiously albeit unnoticeable since he doesn’t have any expression, but the waves he gave off told Ken a vague idea of White’s concerns.
-Meanwhile an hour after Ken fell asleep and wreaked havoc again-
Ken woke up from his sleep, he stretched his limbs and rubbed his right eye with his hands, slowly clearing his vision, but what a sight left him, shocked and scared as several angry expressions were aimed at him.
“Ken, you better explain something.” Came the dreadful voice of his friend. Allen. Ken slowly turned to his direction to the right and gulped as he could feel that his friend was angry at him, very angry.
