The Third Party - Chapter 62
3rd Person’s POV (12 yrs. and 8 months old)
One minute earlier, it wasn’t Ken who awoken his body, but Luna.
“Oh my, I didn’t expect you’d still all be bruised up, but no matter, I won’t be here long, goodbye.” The group stared at the Ken or more like, the person that inhabited Ken, with that white hair, and silver eyes.
Luna took one last glance at the bruised and wounded people -albeit they’re healing one another- in front of him and left Ken’s body as it laid back down on the ground softly.
The people who were suddenly thrusted into a wild ride of dodging and evading, as well as sustaining damage cannot help but be angry at that person or someone who took possession of Ken’s body for a minute, more specifically the adults.
Their anger flared up at the arrogant treatment of the person and all but abruptly left, they sense that it was that person that caused Ken to enter such a state, if the children would have heard their thoughts they would have spared their energy on getting angry over nothing.
Nonetheless, Ken’s friends and companions were still angry, for this was the second time they had to undergo such magical treatment, it isn’t even pleasant to boot. That’s why Ken does not know what to do in regards to his friends anger towards him.
“I don’t understand, care to explain what happened?” Ken asks softly, if he would be temperamental in this moment, there’s no doubt he would be beaten by his friends, for looking at the faces of his friends, made him know that this is one of those times that he has gone too far of his antics.
He has got to ease up his friends or else.
“Hit him.” said Allen, Ken’s eyes widened like saucers as Wilbert and Glen stepped forward besides Allen, followed close behind by his childhood friends.
“Wait, Wa- AHHHHH!!!!!!!” Ken rolled sideways as a fireball flew towards his previous location, courtesy by Wilbert.
“I missed.” Wilbert said, still looking at Ken menacingly, in fact, it seems all his friends are looking at Ken like so as well.
“Don’t worry, we’ve got plenty where that came from.” commented Glen as he cracked his knuckles, Ken felt a shiver ran down his spine as he hastily stood up and ran away.
“He’s running away, get him!” said Allen, and the six instantly dashed forward, unhesitating to close the distance on Ken.
“AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!” came Ken’s cry of despair.
Later that night, Ken was still healing himself while his friends along with the adults and companions were sprawled out at the center of Klein’s cave, having fun while splashing water at each other by the river.
Everyone was having a festive at the success of their defense against the demons, and even more so as their other magical beast leaders were back along with their own kin, some friends from other caves have also arrived at the scene to join in on the festivity.
As different beasts rejoiced for their freedom.
This time, songs were accompanied played by the Merman and Mermaid beasts by the river, the soft music coming from their instruments adding more to the effect of the festivities of the surroundings.
Coral reef instruments all looked aesthetically beautiful, as per Ken’s observation, he swears he could see notes from the sounds the instruments produced, but maybe it’s in his own imagination.
All the while those beasts that were apart for so long, reunited in tears and happiness as laughter filled the air and chatters all but reverberated on Klein’s cave. Some parts of the flower field were used to accommodate the slowly growing number of every magical and animal beasts in the area.
Not to mention the food that was sprawled out all over the cave and at the center of the cave, filled with different types of delicacies, cooked, and uncooked meat, fruits and vegetables, the magical beasts even had their own wine for everyone to share, except the minors.
Food’s more on the green sides though.
Ken carefully placed his right arm over his left bruised arm and began healing it back to shape again, he did not expect that his friends would really beat him up for something he was still clueless about.
But who can blame him, he would always spring out on them with the intention of either mental or physical assault on them and then reasoning out that it’s some form of training to prepare them even more, in both aspects.
‘*sigh* No worries, I guess this is what I deserve after all that I’ve put them through, so I’ll just have to suck it up, all for their growth, and mine as well.’ He thought to himself.
“Ken.” said someone behind him, and when Ken turned around, he found his master Klein was the one who called him.
“Yes Master?” he asked.
“Have you finished healing yourself?” asked Klein stepping to Ken’s side, as Ken stood up slowly, facing his master.
“I have master, a bit sour but nothing that I can’t take care of, what is it Master?” asked Ken.
“I’d like you to meet the other leaders of the magical beasts that reside here in the Northern Forest.” said Klein, gesturing to the ten magical beasts that walked towards their location. Ken smiled in understanding and nodded softly.
“This is Ras, the Bloody Bear of the Bear beasts.” Ras clad in faded brown shorts and a torn brown shirt showcasing his bulging muscles and overall physique entered Ken’s view and nodded at him, Ken returned the gesture.
Even with the battle scars, one could still tell that Ras is handsome, and more on the masculine side with a short spiky hair, chiseled jaw, black eyes but sharp lines and a strong stature.
“Dawn, the Oracle Bee of the Bee beasts.” Dawn wore a simple yet soft pale yellow dress woven by the silk their kin produced, Ken bowed slightly at her knowing her title full well. A title befitting those who have powers that can perceive the future.
Even with such a plain dress, Dawn still looked beautiful with her well shaped body and a face that when one looks, they’d be able to associate to an angel, her blonde wavy hair adding more to her charms.
“Kilean, the Ranger Lion of the Lion beasts.” surprisingly Kilean didn’t wear anything on his top, showing his clear tanned skin and just settled for pants that had what looked like a cape that had fur on its edges, a thick fur. Ken bowed to Kilean but he only nodded.
His handsome face one could resemble to a prince charming paired with wavy dark brown hair, sensual eyes and a dazzling smile, but it would be hard to discern him as one as he dressed savagely.
“Mira, the Conqueror Ant of the Ant beasts.” Mira adorned herself in what looks to be silver plating of an armor but resembled that of a dress. Ken bowed to her and the latter returned the gesture with a courtesy.
Mira’s temperament could be associated that of a strict businesswomen -but they don’t know that term-, her beauty more or less compliments her character as she gives off that serious vibe.
“Nazir, the Swift Tiger of the Tiger beasts.” unlike his cousin, Nazir fully clothed himself in a silver robe, with gray linings and embroidered with a tiger’s head. Ken bowed to the man beast, and the latter returned the gesture.
His clothing and his features greatly contrast one another as he doesn’t resemble an asian but more so of the french side, with that strong jaw and exceedingly manly features exuding sex appeal, but he still looked handsome nonetheless.
“Harth, the Moon Wolf of the Wolf beasts.” Harth wore another robe the color of sky-blue at the upper part while slowly darkening down, subtle embroideries could be seen plastered all over his robe as if they were stars in the night.
Just like his other friends, Harth is also extremely handsome, but more on the east asian side, as he has both the almost seemingly pure white skin and small yet piercing shape of his eyes.
Ken smiled a little as he now knows the leader of the Moon Wolves he has to find, the two exchanged bows to one another.
“Rena, the Tidal Mermaid, and Abel, the Tempest Merman, of the Mermaid, and Merman beasts.” sister and brother each wore a similar robe the color of blue with no embroideries or linings but greatly compliments the two as both were beautiful and handsome in the eyes,
And if one wouldn’t look closer, they would not be able to discern the two from one another as they both looked really alike to one another, their features greatly resembles those of east asians.
As if their soft features could not be discerned, but their voices would say otherwise. Ken bowed to the siblings as the two returned the gesture.
“Kara, the Trion Octopus of the Octopus Beasts.” just like before, Kara wore a dark purple dress one would associate with a sea witch, but to her, it compliments and enhances her beauty.
With dark brown wavy long hair, and features akin to those of east asians along with a light brown color of her skin, one would be more akin to being enchanted than scared of the lady before them.
“And Oldin, the Ordeal Turtle of the turtle beasts.” A man wearing less clothing but had long white cloth as some form of intertwining design, that showcases his muscles but covers the private parts as well as his deep tanned skin.
One could associate him similar to those of African people, as both his physique and features quite resembles one, and just like his friends, he is both handsome and exudes sex appeal, but one would wonder why he was entitled as ‘Ordeal’ with his looks.
“Everyone, meet Ken, my student.” said Klein.
“Greetings to the leaders of the different beast kins, I am pleased to make your acquaintance.” said Ken, as a good first impression was of utmost importance for him towards these ten individuals, although that would be unlikely since he fought with them earlier.
“It is also nice to meet you Ken, I Mira, give you my thanks for freeing us from the barrier that had kept us imprisoned for twelve years.” Her friends stared at her wide eyed for they did not expect her to be the first one to instigate a conversation, for she is well known to either didn’t speak at all or small conversations.
Unaware of the other nine adult’s running thoughts, Ken just bowed and gave his gratitude as well for noticing his actions. Mira nodded in satisfaction at the utter respect this child portrayed towards her.
“Wait, he’s the one who broke the barrier?” asked Nazir. “But how is that possible?”
“If you would have noticed from before, the barrier clearly shows us what is happening outside, and this person here was shown on one of the mirrors the barrier would conjure when someone tries to tamper with it, and he succeeded.” explained Oldin.
“Why does it feel like you’re scolding me?” replied Nazir.
“It’s because I am, show respect to the person who had freed you, it’s the least we can do.” said Oldin, for all them, leaders, had done all that they could trying to destroy the barrier, but it wouldn’t budge no matter how strong they are.
It was as if the barrier was specifically made for them, and there was nothing they could do but accept their fate sealed within the chambers of their own caves, but they bid their time, preparing for when they could finally break the barrier and rejoin with the others.
Unexpectedly, this human showed up, and all but shattered the barrier in three tries, so Oldin was quite grateful, as well as the other leaders that paid attention to what was going on when this human tried breaking the barrier.
Nazir’s shoulders slumped from Oldin’s reprimand but he nonetheless complied to Oldin’s order, and thanked Ken, this time with a little respect, and a clear sign of wanting to be on equal terms. Ken paid it no mind and reassured Nazir that it wasn’t any trouble for him.
“I understand where you all came from and it would also be a shock for me if I’d suddenly witness someone breaking a spell as strong as that one.” said Ken calmly, showing the leaders of a mature yet sophisticated child, which was kind of ironic, since Ken is, still a child.
“Come to think of it, how were you able to break the barrier?” asked Ras, stepping unto Ken’s line of sight, his presence domineering, as the image of a scary tall person could be imagined by anyone who had a weak perception of things.
But Ken didn’t budge, or showed a scared expression, instead, he smiled and said…
“It’s because I have the magic of the moon sir.” Ras’s eyebrow perked up.
“Sir?” he asked.
“That’s just his form of respect, although I am not familiar with it, apparently he uses it to address those older and of higher stature than him.” explained whispered Klein to him, to which Ras nodded.
“Tell us of this moon magic Ken.” said Harth, catching the attention of everyone around him. “Please.” He added. Harth has been well known to be a quiet person, and for him to show this almost cute side of him, with that expression portraying his worries thinking whether his request was wrong or not.
His friends were already thinking how this was possible for one to be cute, why were they thinking of such a thing anyway. Ken did not fail to notice it and gladly filled in Harth’s question.
“I think it would be better if I show you, or better yet, I’ll give you a piece of my memory so that you could understand it well.” said Ken, Harth nodded absentmindedly, as he was filled with curiosity, if this power was similar to his or not.
“Memory Magic: Shared Moment.” Ken held out his hand and out came a ball of white that had white mist swirling inside, he guided the ball to approach Harth and then into his forehead.
Harth wasn’t quite familiar with the spell, but when it entered his mind, he instantly knew that this particular spell was taught by Klein. Ken had already filtered out unnecessary and sensitive information from the ball thus he was confident that Harth would be satisfied with the answer he gave.
“It really is different.” said Harth absentmindedly, as he processed the information for a second, instantly understanding the strength of Ken’s powers, his companions chuckled at his side at his dumb looking but cute face, spouting those words absentmindedly.
Harth noticed his negligence and his face instantly heated up from the embarrassment, the red blush, absolutely visible with his skin being as white as cream, but healthy. Ken laughed along with the adults and their conversation carried on to other heights,
Mainly concerning on the boy’s outstanding performance in battle and his efficient but absurdly concise precision in handling his magic. The night was then filled with more cheer as Ken’s friends joined him no longer angry for what they had gone through earlier.
Which made the adults also address the topic, putting Ken on the hot seat again as he turned to explain that that type of occurrence is out of his control and that he’ll try to work on it once the opportunity arises, for now, he hopes that his apologies would be enough for them.
The rest just shrugged at him giving him the clear sign that it was okay for them, at least. The night ended in sheer joy, and the promise of new beginnings.
‘Right! I think I can rest easy, I know I am strong enough to protect my friends now, and I’ll continue to be strong so that I could continue protecting them in the future.’ Ken thought to himself as he watched his friends laughing, happy with their smiles.
‘I wish to protect those smiles, that they may smile as widely again even when under all the pressure.’ his last thoughts for the night before joining in on the conversation, and festivities.
