The Third Party - Chapter 69
Ken’s POV (12 yrs., 8 months and 1 week old)
Finally, I’m back… okay, no Ken, no one should care that you are back, albeit slightly yes they should care because I’m their friend and that they should reciprocate my treatment of them, no, it should be the choice of the person whether they wish to treat someone in a specific manner.
Okay, I’m just ranting, don’t mind me. I approach Wilbert and Allen talking to one another as the others listen in on the conversation, considering that the sun’s almost noon, lunch must be being prepared.
Wow, the time we consumed in exploring the new caves was just small, hmmm…. We better lessen that for other important things to do.
‘You forgot that it’s Saturday.’ -White-
‘Hm? Yes, it is Saturday, why?’ -Ken-
‘Isn’t it supposed to be rest day?’ -White-
I stare into space for a moment. ‘Oh… right, I forgot.’ I reply smiling to myself, silly me, last week’s events must’ve gotten to my head hard. Hoooh, okay, the demons are gone, there is no need for me to be paranoid about it.
Or maybe I do need to be paranoid about it, okay Ken, stop, take a deep breath *inhale*, then out *exhale*.
“Ken, what are you doing?” I turn to my left at the person who asked and see Saber.
“Just thinking about things nothing much.” I reply as we slowly approach the group.
“About what?” he asks.
“About last week’s battles, it just gave me the sense of preparing again, you know the feeling.” I said glancing at him, still with that stone-cold face.
“Mm *nod*.” Well, there’s nothing much I could pry from him now can I? Joke, Saber’s just stoic, but once you’d both understand the subject at hand, I’m sure you’d get into a mutual agreement with him.
“Hey, Ken, you’re back, how’s your conversation with Master Harth?” asked Celine.
“Master just asked me about my moon powers, apparently moon wolves are the only gifted ones that could harness the power of the moon, so he’s curious as to why I have such kind of power, not to worry though, Master’s satisfied with the fact I gave.” I said.
“Glad to know.” She said and walked to my side, as did Wilbert on the other. “What will you do today? Considering that we have free time to spend.” She asked.
“Hmm… I don’t know, what do you guys have in mind?” I asked.
“How about fire bending.” said Icarus, with an excited glint in his eyes.
“No, everybody knows I don’t know how to use fire magic, how about river strolling.” rebutted his sister, as she said the last part in our direction, but sensing that something was staring at her, she turned to look at her brother as he stared daggers into her.
I chuckled lightly at their interaction as the two exchanged stares.
“Could we go tree planting?” asked Wilbert out of nowhere.
“And why would we do that?” asked Flin, but soft and mellow, like the touch of clouds, okay, weird where that came from.
“I don’t know I just thought of it.” The rest of us who heard Wilbert say his reasons laughed hard, even the twins were not spared as they too laughed.
Luckily enough, Wilbert didn’t seem to be embarrassed, and looked serious.
“Maybe we could consider doing that, what do you guys think?” said Allen as everyone’s laughter died down.
“I’m good.” -Celine-
“Yeah.” -Riyah-
“Me too.” -Flin-
“Okay.” -Saber-
“No…?” -Lila-
“No.” -Glen-
“Nope.” -Princess Lang-
“Nahh.” -Icarus-
“What about you Ken?” asked Allen, turning to me. “To me I’d personally go for it, it’s been a long time since I’ve strolled by the trees and just feel them.” He only stared at me with a blank face.
“Okay? Does that have something to do with planting?” I asked a cheeky smile on my face.
“No, it does not, but we’re talking about trees nonetheless.” He said with a straight face, I chuckled at the thought.
“Sure, let’s go tree planting.” I said which earned us groans from the other four who didn’t want to go planting some trees.
“What?” I asked at the four, funny enough, Princess Lang didn’t like the idea.
“It’s boring.” said Icarus, extending the last part.
“Oh come on, it wouldn’t be that bad.” I try, with a couple more convincing from our side, we forced the four of them to come and plant trees with us, all the while we got complaints along the way.
To which I just politely shut down their requests to go back and do something else, peace, anyway, I teleported us at the area where the battle occurred and sure enough some patches of land where bare of trees, as if they were stripped off.
We started with our work. Oddly enough, the tree planting was a fun idea, at first we did not know what our first course of action would be since we didn’t bring any saplings with us.
Yeah, good move on our part. We split up in groups, the first group went and looked for seeds at any of the trees nearby, while the second group dug small holes on the ground where we could plant the seeds.
The process was smooth as we had planted over a hundred seeds on the area and made them grow into saplings as the area turned into a field of cute little saplings.
It was a fulfilling activity, every process of it, I didn’t think it would be this gratifying to do. At some point, once we were nearing completion of the task, someone threw mud on my back, and when I turned around it was Wilbert.
Arms raised with a bit of dirt on his hands, a cheeky smile plastered on his face, of course I wouldn’t be Ken the explorer if I didn’t retaliate, and soon enough, from one throw unto another, the area turned into another war between two groups as we threw mud at one another.
We all returned home drenched in sweat, tears and blood… joke, we just cleansed all the dirt from our bodies and clothes as we reported back to our masters and went on our ways.
-Monday-
Okay, it’s morning, I’ve bathed and changed, ate breakfast, gave each one of my parents a kiss on the cheek, and am ready for the day.
Time to go to the field. Uwaaaahhhh, the atmosphere’s just right, not too warm, or too cold, the right coolness of the morning dew.
Couple that with a scenic view of the forest in the morning sun, makes the surroundings all the more beautiful, it’s like a scene out of a medieval movie, but like, where the elves live.
I freely wave my scythe as I walk in momentum, my mood in a pretty good state, a skip in my step, with a twist on one of my movements, I jump and flipped in the air and land, then spread my body wide, as I flung the scythe unto the air.
*Inhale*
*Exhale*
Okay, let’s start the day in a good note, I caught my scythe in the air and continued skipping to the field, leaning my scythe on my shoulder while holding its lower part in front of me.
I arrive at the entrance of the field screaming “Good Morning!” but instantly regret myself as I saw the other ten masters present, I turn around as I feel my face growing hot.
Okay, so you just embarrassed yourself Ken, get yourself together, and turn around to greet them again.
3rd Person’s POV (12 yrs., 8 months and 1 week old)
The group chuckled at Ken as they had witnessed the reddening of his face obviously due to embarrassment, not with his ears being visible, tucking his hair behind it, but Ken didn’t know this and so he continues to comfort himself that he did not insult the masters at the front.
Looking straight at his group as he walked forward, acting like everything’s normal.
“Well, that certainly is a nice way to bring in the morning.” remarked Lana, Ken turned to her direction and smiled.
“Thank you Master, as it is indeed a good morning, for me that is.” said Ken, adding a little bit of playfulness to his tone, which had a great effect on the group as they warm-heartedly nodded in response.
“Now that everyone’s here, you may all proceed to your morning exercise.” said Ulysses, the group nodded and said in unison…
“Yes Master.” The group dispersed to put their things on their lunch table -mainly their weapons and other gears and or outfits for the day-, and dawned on their light clothing for the exercise.
“Wait, we won’t be teaching them now?” asked Nazir to Klein while the students were preparing themselves.
“Yes, why do you ask?” he replied.
“Well, isn’t that what we are supposed to do, that’s why we agreed to this.” remarked Nazir, feeling a bit lost, and wronged, so to say.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be able to teach once they have finished this morning regime.” said Klein, as he started walking to the trees at the side, where they can spectate on the group, one master trailed behind as she observed the children.
The group of masters waited patiently at the side as they watched the group of kids go on about their morning exercise, some of the masters admired their activity but did not get why they did so,
Some just stared or drifted into their own dreamlands, while a specific master watched mesmerized at the children’s movements, particularly on the part that they exerted much strength that was needed for the exercise.
“Klein, let me teach them first.” commented Mira, not taking her eyes off of the kids, her fellow masters stared at her in shock, for they never thought that Mira would be the first one to speak of her terms.
She was always calculating, and observant at the side, only in the late interaction does she take action in the situation, so the other masters stared at her, almost gawking. What could be running through the head of their warrior peer.
