The Treasure She Never Asked For - Chapter 66 Arrangements.
“Thanks for coming to pick me up,” Marcel said to Mark as he went into the van.
“It’s no problem,” Mark answered as he drove away from Marcel’s apartment. Two days had passed since his audition and they confirmed his participation earlier that day. He received a call from Damien earlier that day and was asked to go to the company. That was why Mark was there to pick him up.
He arrived at the company ten minutes later and was relieved to see that there was no crowd outside the building. It seemed like all the popular people were not around that day.
Marcel went to the elevators and went to the top floor. Damien’s secretary made eye contact with him the minute he walked into the office.
“He’s been waiting for you, you can go in,” she said before resuming her work. Marcel knocked on Damien’s door and only went in after he heard him respond on the other side.
“Good morning Mr. Matteo,” Marcel greeted after closing the door behind him.
“Mmh, good morning, sit down,” Damien said after he briefly glanced at him. Marcel went to sit on one of the chairs in front of the large desk and patiently waited for Damien to finish what he was doing.
“Okay, so I have talked to my lawyers,” Damien said after ten minutes of silence. As he arranged the documents he was done with into one pile on his right and removed his glasses.
“Really?” Marcel asked with his eyes lighting up with excitement.
“Mmmh, they said it wouldn’t be a problem taking Liam in and the process would just take a few days,” Damien said as he studied Marcel’s expression.
“That’s great news, so when do you think I’ll be able to go pick him up?” Marcel asked, his voice filled with excitement.
“In about two days,” Damien said as he continued to observe Marcel.
“Ah- Really?” Marcel asked with a smile that was so wide that the two small dimples on the corners of his lips made an appearance.
“Yes,” Damien answered.
“Then I’ll have to go pick him up,” Marcel mumbled to himself as he started making plans.
“You’ll be filming,” Damien said and instantly burst his bubble. Marcel looked like someone had just splashed cold water over his head.
“Right, what do I do?” Marcel asked himself in half confusion.
“I have a suggestion,” Damien said as he leaned on the back of his comfortable office chair.
“What is it?” Marcel asked.
“You can enrol him in a boarding school,” Damien said as he carefully looked at him.
“What?” Marcel asked with a frown.
“This won’t be the last job that will require you to stay away from home over a long period of time. I know I offered to stay with him but I can’t keep him around for more than one or two days as I also have a busy schedule unless you want to get him a nanny but your popularity is expected to increase so this option is also a bit complicated,” Damien said as he rhythmically hit his pen against his desk in though.
u003cIs this workable? u003e Marcel asked Avian because he was out of his element. He had never even heard of the concept of a boarding school before.
[Depending on where he is sent it should be. You won’t have to worry about his whereabouts and as long as he had a pleasant relationship with his classmates he should have a smooth life there.] Avian answered.
“Do you have any suggestions?” Marcel asked Damien, he didn’t believe that he didn’t have his own suggestions.
“Larien,” Damien said.
[Larien School of the Elite] Avian answered.
Marcel’s eyebrows rose in surprise when he heard the same answer from both Damien and Avian. For the first time, Avian felt a sense of kinship with Damien and was in a pleasant mood.
“Is it good?” Marcel asked.
“I went there,” Damien answered as if to tell him, ‘look at me and decide whether or not it’s good’.
“If you went there, then the fees,” Marcel thought out loud.
“As long as you didn’t spend all the money in your first paycheck then you should be fine,” Damien said as he looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
“Okay, I’ll just have to go talk to him about it. If he is okay with it, then I have no problem,” Marcel answered.
“That’s settled then, you can go see him today since you will be busy from tomorrow. I’ll settle things with my lawyers and he can stay at my place for a few days before going to school. Ask Julia to help you with the enrollment and the fees,” Damien said and picked up another stack of documents. Marcel knew that he was dismissed, so he stood up and said his goodbyes.
“Mr. Matteo,” Marcel called before opening the door.
“Hmm?” Damien said without even lifting his head up.
“Thank you,” Marcel said before leaving his office. Damien looked up at the closed door before continuing with his work. He was seriously thinking about going to visit his older sister after work.
Marcel went to the ground floor after calling Mark and made his way back home. He figured that Liam was still in school so it would be better if he went back home first. As they were driving back, he received a call from Julia.
“Marcel,” Julia said the moment he picked up the phone.
“Yes?” he answered
“You know filming will start tomorrow, right?” she asked.
“Mmmh,” he responded.
“Make sure you pack everything today and get things in order. You’ll be staying at the house for a month so figure out how much you’ll need to pack for the stay,” Julia said.
“Okay,” Marcel responded.
“Call me if you need anything,” Julia said and after a few more words he ended the call.
“Mark, can you pick me up later to go see my little brother?” Marcel asked after they stopped outside his house.
“What time?” Mark asked as he turned to look at him.
“Around 3:45 pm I want to be there before he comes out of class,” Marcel said as he calculated the time he will need to pack.
“Okay, I’ll see you later then,” Mark said and drove off after Marcel got out of the car.
Marcel went back to his apartment and immediately started packing his clothes and other things he knew he would need. He was finally done a few hours later, so he went ahead to make his lunch.
As he was eating his sandwich, he received a call from Mark that he was waiting for him downstairs. When he checked the time, he saw that he was five minutes early. Marcel quickly picked up his wallet and cellphone and immediately left his apartment while holding a sandwich in one hand.
