The Treasure She Never Asked For - Chapter 69 Sweets And Peculiarities
“I’ll go check out the rest of the house,” Marcel said as he got off the bed he had been sitting on and left their room. The girls’ rooms were on the opposite side of the floor and there was a lounge in between separating them.
Marcel curiously peeked at the direction of the rooms as he wanted to know how they looked like, in the past, wouldn’t he have been staying on that side of the house?
“You want to see the girls’ rooms?” A voice said from behind him. Marcel quickly turned around and was face to face with Lauren. She raised an eyebrow, waiting for his answer before he scratched the back of his head and nodding.
“I’ll show you the room I’m in, let’s go,” Lauren said and walked ahead of him. Marcel. Marcel’s eyes twinkled with happiness as he followed behind her. Lauren had been the contestant that was standing behind him at the auditions. He couldn’t forget her because she had a unique aesthetic.
She had very short hair and a few tattoos were visible through the long-sleeved shirt she rolled up her arms. She had a very androgynous image and seemed like a straightforward person. She may come off as being unfriendly, but he saw that she was uniquely charming. He could see why the judges had chosen her to take part in the program.
“Here,” she said as she said as she opened the door to the room she was in. She was going to be sharing a room with two other girls in the house, so there were three beds in it. It was also more spacious since it had one more person.
“Why are you standing there awkwardly?” Lauren asked when she noticed that he never crossed the threshold to go into the girls’ room.
“It feels weird for me too,” Marcel said honestly. He didn’t think that he would feel that way, but surprisingly he did.
“Heh, that’s cute, do you want a sweet?” Lauren asked as she pulled out a lollipop from her backpack. Marcel did not want to reject her, so he nodded. She then brought the sweet to him since she did not want to make him feel awkward by asking him to go in the room to take it.
“Have you seen the rest of the house?” Marcel asked Lauren, and she shook her head to say no.
“I’m going to check it out, do you want to join me?” Marcel asked. He would have asked his roommate, but he did not look he would have agreed to go with him. Lauren looked at him with her slanted brown eyes for a few seconds before nodding and following him out.
They first went outside to see what was in the backyard and they saw that there was a large pool and a barbeque area that was surrounded by a beautiful garden. After touring the backyard, they went to the house and toured the ground floor that had the dining area with a very modern kitchen.
“Tsk tsk, it’s too bad I can’t cook,” Lauren commented as she looked at the expensive marble on the kitchen counter.
“I’m still learning, before this week I could barely fry an egg,” Marcel said as he empathized with her. They met a few of the other members as well as they were touring and even though he was also tall. Marcel has never seen so many tall people in one area like he was seeing now. He and Lauren just had a few inches difference in height, and it was the same with everyone else.
“I have to go and unpack,” Lauren said as she turned back and went to pick up her suitcase. Marcel picked up his suitcase as well and took hers from her before heading up the stairs. Lauren looked at him for a beat before following him up.
“Thanks,” she said once he placed her suitcase back on the ground.
“Mmh, no problem,” Marcel said with a smile before walking towards the direction of his room. Lauren also didn’t linger around unnecessarily and went to her room as well.
u003cSo Lauren is very straightforward, huh? u003e Marcel thought to himself.
[It seems so] Avian answered and Marcel smiled at his answer. If she had no tact, then there was going to be a lot of drama in the house. Marcel smiled at that notion before opening the door to his room.
Marcel took his suitcase straight to the closet and noticed that Alistair had already arranged his clothes on one side. Seeing how they were all arranged by colour from lightest to darkest, he felt like a headache was coming on. He hoped he wouldn’t be bothered by how he arranged his own things.
When Marcel was almost finished arranging his own things, his roommate came into the closet with a towel wrapped around his waist. Marcel didn’t even bat an eye at the sight, he was a bit vain and usually spent quite some time admiring himself in the mirror; he had gotten so used to the sight of a man’s body that he wasn’t fazed at the sight of a topless guy.
They both did their own business in silence, but it was not awkward at all. Alistair finished getting dressed and turned to look at Marcel, who had hung up his last jacket.
“Um,” Alistair hummed while arranging the words that he wanted to say. Marcel turned to look at him in question as he felt like he wanted to say something to him.
“Do you have something to say?” Marcel asked when he started feeling impatient.
“Yes, Umm, I’ve arranged my grooming products on one side of the counter,” Alistair said. Marcel could almost finish that sentence for him. The bathroom had two sinks, so it seemed that he had picked his own and was asking him not to mess with his stuff. He also didn’t want him to mess with his stuff, okay?
“Oh,” Marcel responded and went to place his suitcase at an empty spot next to the wardrobe.
“I-If you need to borrow some it’s okay, just let me know and don’t make a mess out of them,” Alistair said and walked out of the walk-in closet. Marcel’s eyebrows rose in surprise at his statement. It looked like he was not as petty as he thought he would be, he was just very particular about how he wanted his things to be.
u003cI feel like staying here is going to help with my acting,u003e Marcel said to Avian once more.
[Why?] Avian asked in confusion. Wasn’t he here to promote his modeling career?
u003cWhere else can I find people with such particular personalities? Even if I don’t win, it’s not a waste. I should definitely treat Julia after I finish with this gigu003e Marcel explained.
[So do you plan to take on the role of an observer?] Avian asked curiously. If he did that, he wouldn’t be popular among the audience.
u003cOf course I have to take part actively, won’t it be too much of a waste if I don’t? u003e Marcel said with a smile.
