The Typhoon’s Dangerous Wife - Chapter 354
It was Alcina and Ryuu’s wedding day. The grand Tang mansion was brimming with happiness once again with the bomb-blasting news of the grand marriage of the only heir of the Tang family.
No one knew who the bride was but they were least interested in the background of the bride. They were just happy with the information that they had gotten an invitation to Lord Ryu’s wedding.
Tang Family’s allies were naturally invited along with the friends and relatives of Xin Yichen. However, there were a few more hidden clans like Zhangs, Juns, and Rens. Today, it was heard that the patriarch of the Jun clan would be attending the wedding with his grandson, or the next heir of the Jun family. Ren family had sent their representative as they were invited on very short notice and couldn’t come. As for Zhangs… they had hidden animosity with Tangs for as long as anyone could remember.
Ryuu and Alcina spoke their vows in the place where they met for the first time. If someone had told them that time that one day, both of them.were gonna speak their wedding vows at the same places they would have shot you without blinking.
Alcina was looking lovely in her simple yet graceful wedding gown. And Ryuu, as usual, was a dashing king in his black tuxedo. Not to forget, their Faye was dressed as a princess as she was.
Only family members attended the wedding ceremony and the rest of the people were supposed to come to their reception.
“Are you sad?” Ryuu asked his wife when he felt her sad eyes wandering in the hall.
Her maternal grandfather didn’t come as she had long known. Yet, she thought for her sake he would. But you see, that was her only wishful thinking.
Alcina smiled at him. “Why would I? I have known from the start that he will not come. His hate for you outweighs the responsibility or dare I say love for me. Whatever. It’s better that he is not here. I wouldn’t be able to tolerate the nonsense he was gonna sprout about you and our daughter.”
Ryuu felt his heartbreaking for her. “You don’t need to worry about someone who doesn’t care for you, love.” He gestured to her with his eyes to look ahead. “That’s your family. The only family that matters.”
Alcina looked ahead and chuckled when she saw Long Jie teasing Zhenyi and she was cutely pouting at him. Her daughter was nestled in Grandma Mian’s lap and the older woman was in awe of the little Tang. Xin Yichen was talking to Elder Xin with a comforting expression.
Yes, this was their family. The only family that matters.
Alcina rested her head on Ryuu’s shoulder and whispered, “Thank you for fulfilling this dream of mine that I was never aware of…”
He pecked her temple and murmured, “Anything for you, my wife.”
Seeing them standing alone, someone came to congratulate the newly wedded couple. They made a toast.
When Alcina sipped on her drink, she looked up to glance at Ryuu in surprise who just winked in return. Only when the elderly couple left and they were once again alone, she dared to ask the question, “You changed my wine to grape juice?”
Ryuu grinned. “Not my fault that you didn’t notice before. You think I will let you take the risk of consuming even a sip of alcohol?”
“I don’t want to…but it was you who told me to hide the ‘good news’ from everyone for a few more days,” Alcina pouted at him. Yeah, yeah little Tang was about to get a sibling.
“I just want to do something in order for the first time in my life,” Ryuu grumbled. “People date first, then marry and finally have children. But our situation was messed up. We have a kid first, then fall in love and in the end, we are getting married.”
“Who said this is the end?” Alcina interrupted him. “Our wedding is the beginning of our life.”
…
“Come on, Zhenyi, it’s your brother’s wedding and you are not allowed to drink anymore,” Long Jie sighed. He didn’t remember what number of glass she was on.
“Exactly, it’s my bro’s wedding. And wedding means free and loads of drinks,” Zhenyi beamed.
“You are not drinking and that’s my order,” Long Jie said in a hard tone.
“Nobody can order Xin Zhenyi around,” Zhenyi narrowed her eyes on him.
“Exactly,” Long Jie said. “Nobody can order my wife around but as your husband, it’s my privilege to do what a nobody can’t.”
“I hate you so much,” Zhenyi couldn’t help but grumble.
Long Jie kissed her mouth saying, “I love you too, babe.”
Zhenyi just glared at him. She stood up to leave the table but he caught her hand. “Where are you going?” He then asked.
“Washroom. And I am not taking you with me,” Zhenyi replied.
“Okay, go but safely.”
Zhenyi sighed and massaged her temples. ” Yeah…”
On the way to the washroom, Zhenyi was muttering graphic curses in all the languages she knew under her breath. How dare that husband of hers not let her drink on such an auspicious event? He was so bad, so mean to her.
She was fine when she entered the washroom but when she came out of it, she found herself more than just tipsy. “Oh, God, wine and I don’t go hand in hand.” Even when hard liquor couldn’t make her tipsy easily, the wine had a tendency to make her drunk very effortlessly.
As she was about to take a step inside the hall where her husband was waiting for her, Zhenyi felt herself falling…but before her pretty face could touch the hard marble on the floor, an arm caught her waist and pulled her up.
She glanced up to find dark obsidian eyes staring at her in concern.”Are you fine?” the stranger asked her.
Zhenyi found herself nodding. “Thank you.”
Zhang Boyan smiled at the beautiful woman he just saved from falling. Did he mention that she was extremely beautiful? He couldn’t use the textbook definition of beautiful on her. And did he say anything about those magical eyes of hers?
They were like many magical elements fusing just to make something mystical in the end.
“Here,” Zhang Boyan took out something from his coat pocket and placed it on Zhenyi’s palm. “Suck on this candy. It will help you in intoxication.”
Zhenyi glanced at this strange man again. She didn’t recognize him. And seems like he didn’t know her either. Again, looking at his face, she could tell that this man was handsome but not like her husband. With glasses hung on the bride of his nose, he looked intelligent but quite classy.
She didn’t give him back the sucker that he had placed on her palm but she wasn’t fool enough to consume anything given to her. “Thank you again.”
Seeing that she was standing before him, she said, “Ah, it seems I am blocking your path. ”
Zhang Boyan smiled at her. He quite likes these kinds of confident and smart women. He didn’t say anything and moved forward. If he was meant to meet her again, he would surely take her number.
…
“You didn’t expect me to be here?” Zhang Boyan chuckled at the bride. She was looking lovely today with the man standing protectively beside her. She deserved to be loved but he wondered if he really was the right man for her?
Alcina was certainly not expecting Zhang Boyan of all the people from the Zhang family to attend her wedding on their behalf. “You can’t blame me for being skeptical especially when Grandfather is planning to make me a widow anytime soon.”
Zhang Boyan just smiled at her. He didn’t refute her words. “Truth be told, I am here as the heir of the Zhang family to send the message that we don’t wish to make the Tang family our enemy. What your grandfather and Tang family have should be kept between both parties. Innocents need not be implicated. We are a medicinal clan. With mutual cooperation, we can help each other to a great extent. Don’t you think so, Lord Ryuu?”
Ryuu was studying the man donned in a navy blue three-piece suit. He was giving off the impression of an intelligent and mature man. Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to trust Zhangs. But for his wife’s sake, he said, “Sure. We will discuss the conditions later, Young Master Zhang.”
Before Zhang Boyan could say anything, his gaze fell on the owner of those magical eyes he met before. She was dressed in a knee-length royal blue colored strapless tulle dress. Her hair was made in a beautiful loose bun.
“Eyes on the wrong person,” Alcina whispered.
“Who is she?” Zhang Boyan found himself asking.
“My sister-in-law,”Alcina replied.
Just as the words left Alcina’s mouth, Zhang Boyan saw a very familiar man pulling her into his arms and she answered him by kissing his chin. His eyes fell on the ring shining on her hand that was placed on the man’s shoulder.
Yeah, he noticed that she was married. But it was too late.
