The Typhoon’s Dangerous Wife - Chapter 357
On the other side.
Xin Yichen was engaged in a conversation with his old acquaintance when someone announced the arrival of an important guest. No one had imagined the patriarch of the mighty Jun family would come himself to congratulate Ryuu and his wife on their wedding.
Not even the wealthiest families of the country could invite them.
Jun family was not based in Beijing so it was natural that not many people know about them. However, since everyone in the room was remarkable personality in their respective fields, it was not surprising that many of them were aware of the position patriarch Jun commanded in his arena.
“Master Jun, it’s very nice to finally meet you after a long time,” Xin Yichen humbly greeted the senior man. Master Jun was a man in his sixties, but one couldn’t help but look at him in awe at the powerful and fascinating aura emitting him.
Knowledge always attracts everyone and being some one as knowledgeable as Patriarch Jun was always the center of attraction where ever he went.
Patriarch Jun nodded and accepted the greeting with a smile. When he was informed that he was invited by Tang family for the wedding of the current head, he was delighted. It seemed that those people still knew how to value their acquaintances.
And now the respectful treatment that he was getting from everyone was no less impressive to him.
“My boy, greet Master Xin,” Patriarch patted his eight years old grandson’s head.
Xin Yichen’s eyes glanced below and he found an eight years old boy bowing. Such refined manners and elegance were something only a member of the Jun family could possess. No wonder, they had produced well known scholars for many generations.
“Ah, what’s your name child?” Xin Yichen questioned the boy. Ever since he had gotten a granddaughter, he had grown a soft spot for kids in his heart. Still, nobody could take the place of his granddaughter in his heart.
“Jun Yiran,” Jun Yiran aka little Yuyu replied. He was a little down as he was dragged by his grandfather to this wedding. He hated socializing but when his favorite ‘uncle’ or Young master ordered him to follow his grandfather, he had no choice but to comply with him.
Let him grow up, then he would beat that arrogant young master’s ass in combat. Even his father listened to his boss, and he as his father’s son was ignored like always.
However, when he heard that they were going to Beijing, he was over the moon. And the reason was a certain green-eyed beauty. He had to find her in this big city or she would be coveted by someone else.
“What a sweet child!” Xin Yichen smiled. “I have been hearing a lot about you little master Jun. It’s my honor to meet the future of Jun clan.”
Yuyu opened his mouth to say that he was not the real young Master Jun, however, he closed his mouth to avoid speaking something he should not. Even if he didn’t want to take the place of the Young Master, he would have to. It was unchangeable. Something, he had been hearing since the time, he was born.
In the end, he half-heartedly murmured, “Thank you.”
Patriarch Jun could understand silently what his grandson was meaning to say but he didn’t blow his cover. Some things couldn’t be changed and he knew it better than anyone. His grandson had to replace the inept young master in the future.
“Come, I will take you to Ryuu and Alcina,” Xin Yichen offered and Patriarch Jun and Yuyu walked behind him, making small talks on the way.
____
Ryuu was waiting for his wife to come back by his side. It had only been five minutes since she left his side and he was anxious already. Could he say that he was getting too overprotective and over-possessive of her already? But what could he do when he just wanted her second pregnancy more comfortable than the last one.
Only he and Alcina knew the problems and struggle they had to experience during Faye’s time. He would never be able to express how grateful he was to God to let him survive that disaster and assisted him to come back by his family’s side, alive.
No, he was not invincible. Even he had bad times. He too had desires that he sometimes forced him chose himself over his family but he never did. From the beginning, he was taught to chose his family over his happiness. But today, when he finally tied the knot with the woman, he loved more than anything else in the world, he felt content for the first time in years. It was the kind of feeling that he would never be able to describe in simple words. It was simply heavenly yet indescribable.
“Alcina?” Ryuu called out her name as he saw her walking towards him, holding their daughter’s little hand. Her face was unusually pale and not even for a moment, he thought that it was due to nausea, she was previously feeling. Something was bothering his wife and he has to find out what.
Alcina gave him a small smile as she stood by his side.
“You, all right?” He asked her again. Lately, he had been getting worried over even trivial matters as her emotions are fluctuating constantly.
Alcina nodded at him.
“Dada, Aunt got hurt,” Faye whispered tugging at Ryuu’s coat. Her big green eyes were staring at her father. Since the time, she saw a bandage on Zhenyi’s head, she was feeling uncomfortable for some reason.
“Aunt got what?” Ryuu thought he heard something wrong. Wasn’t his sister fine a moment ago? No, it was not possible for Long Jie to hurt his wife for a little misunderstanding.
“You didn’t mishear,” said Alcina in a tight voice. “She fell and knocked her head on the wall, I guess. But she is alright… just a small gash. And Long Jie is accompanying her.” And he knows what he should not yet.
Ryuu sighed. Zhenyi had been drinking carelessly. What else could he expect from a drunkard? He just hoped whatever problem the couple was facing, they would soon resolve it because Zhenyi had a habit of drowning her problems in the bottle of alcohol.
He rubbed Faye’s head gently and murmured, “Don’t worry, kiddo. Your aunty will be fine. Your uncle will be staying by her side. But you must not run like you always do otherwise you will trip and get hurt like your aunt.”
Faye nodded as if she could understand after she saw the live example.
“You sure you are not feeling sick?” Ryuu asked Alcina.
“Of course,” Alcina squeezed out a smile. They would talk but once the reception was over.
“Ryuu! Alcina!” Both of them turned their head to find Xin Yichen approaching them, followed by an elder and a kid. “Meet Patriarch Jun of the Jun Clan and his grandson Jun Yiran.”
Who doesn’t know the Patriarch of the Jun family and his genius grandson, who was declared the heir of the clan just a few years after his birth? It was said that the child was blessed by the heavens and he would be the future of the Jun clan which was on the verge of extinct.
As per courtesy, Alcina and Ryuu greeted the old man. They were delighted to find that he chose to come personally to bless them at their wedding. And not only this, even his grandson tagged along with him.
“I have heard many great things about Lord Ryuu of the Tang Clan but have never gotten the chance to see him by my own eyes,” Patriarch Jun said with a reserved smile. His eyes seemed to be recalling someone or some memory of the nostalgic past. “But now that I have seen Lord Ryuu with my eyes, I can all the things late Lord had said about you are not enough to define your charisma. You are indeed one fine young man. What a pity that your late grandfather is not here to see you getting married with his eyes.”
“Thank you for your kind words, Patriarch Jun,” Ryuu answered him with a smile. “Meet my wife Alcina and daughter Tang Faye.”
Even if Patriarch Jun was surprised to find Ryuu had a child before marriage, he didn’t show it on his old face. At least, Ryuu was better than his own son who at least had a life with a woman unlike his son, who had devoted all of his life to Buddhism. No, he was not complaining that his son was a religious person but he would be glad if he showed a tiny bit of interest in women and worldly affairs for once. Not only was his son considered trash by the members of Jun clan, he even refused to come in contact with any woman.. He had always hoped this his son would at least give him grandchildren one day to continue their generation but it appeared like he had placed hopes on a wrong person.
