The Typhoon’s Dangerous Wife - Chapter 366
It was Monday and Zhenyi was looking as haggard as the word itself suggested. Her body had changed in the whole week. The dark circles under her eyes were prominent, sudden weight loss was making her plump body to look more like all bones, but it was the constant headache that was troubling her the most.
Now even Fan Bingbing was worried about her. Never had she ever seen her friend like this before, however, she could understand the predicament that Zhenyi was going through. It wasn’t easy for someone like her. But she needed to keep her shit together. If her friend was thinking of chickening out, she was right here to beat her up and make her take the right track once again.
If Long Jie was here, he would have killed her for not taking care of his wife well. But even he should know how stubborn his wife was. She worked too much.
“You are coming with me,” Fan Bingbing said to her in her strict voice. What an irony today she was bossing around her own boss!
“Go back to work, Bingbing,” Zhenyi ordered her without bothering to look up from the computer screen. She was wearing glasses and looking at the number on the screen but only she knew that she wasn’t exactly reading the numbers on the screen as her vision was blurring.
She hadn’t been herself for many days now. Even she could feel that she had gotten weaker than before.
“You are really worrying me now, Zhenyi,” Fan Bingbing said as she sat on the seat in front of her.”Earlier, when you would be troubled, you would surely open your special collection (alcohol) but for almost two weeks, you haven’t touched it.”
“My husband has put a ban on my alcohol,” Zhenyi replied, her eyes still on the computer.
Thinking of him, she realised how badly she needed him right now.
“You are saying as if you always listen to him,” Fan Bingbing scoffed.
Zhenyi always does what she wants to do. Even Long Jie had a hard time changing her opinions sometimes. But lately, she had been listening to him. She was a tyrant and she couldn’t change herself in a day. And Long Jie knew it way better than anyone. Moreover, he seemed to love his tyrant wife a lot just like all other versions of her.
“I don’t but I am thinking of starting to listen to him from now,” Zhenyi replied with a straight face. “Moreover, he is never wrong.”
Fan Bingbing looked over at her boss slash friend who was speaking with apparent displeasure for her advice, she sighed out, “Stop trying to delude yourself. You know why you are behaving the way you are. So, just put yourself out of misery.”
“I never put myself in misery,” reminded Zhenyi patiently. “Instead, I’m infamous for putting everyone in misery. Do you want to be the first today?”
Fan Bingbing sarcastically smiled, “Sure, if it means you are going to the appointment I made for you.”
“Stop crossing your boundaries, Bingbing,” Zhenyi warned her with narrow eyes.
But was Fan Bingbing one to be threatened? No way!
Zhenyi had rubbed her daringness on her too. If she could keep up with a boss like her for years, did she need to be afraid of her?
No way.
It was just Master Yichen, who she truly feared.
If he were to know that his precious daughter was neglecting her health…. She dared not fathom the consequences.
“Says the woman whose hobby is being nosy all the time,” Fan Bingbing commented. She shut Zhenyi’s laptop and then dragged her out of the office. “You have two options: come with me peacefully or I will call Master Yichen. You know what will happen when he gets to know…”
“You won’t stop being my Bà’s spy,” Zhenyi hissed but she still obliged.
To be honest, she wasn’t ready to share her predicament with anyone. Especially not her father. He had a tendency of going over the top when matters involve her.
The employees outside her office were looking at Fan Bingbing with a gaze of utter admiration. There was someone in the entire world except for their Boss’s husband who was capable enough of dragging her out of her office.
Zhenyi, who had no idea what her employees were thinking inside their heads, let Fan Bingbing take her to wherever she wished today. She was too tired to deal with her.
When they were outside the elevator, Fan Bingbing paused as she saw Zhang Han coming out of the elevator reserved for staff. He, too, paused in his footsteps, when his gaze fell on her girlfriend’s hand. She, who was holding Zhenyi’s wrist, left it as soon as Zhang Han’s gaze fell on her hand.
“So much for being a caring friend,” Zhenyi murmured but Fan Bingbing just threw her a shut up look heading for her boyfriend.
She hugged her boyfriend and forgot what she was planning to do.
“I came to ask if you would like to have lunch with me?” He asked her with a silly smile.
Zhenyi realised one thing: that the boy was whipped. It was not bad that he only had gaze settled on her friend.
Fan Bingbing was about to nod when she remembered that she had to take Zhenyi for the appointment. So, she could only decline, “I can’t have lunch with you today. I have to go with Zhenyi for a very important appointment but don’t worry, we will have dinner together.”
“I will be leaving for Ann City in the evening,” Zhang Han told her. He was dispirited after the rejection but his smile didn’t diminish.
But who was Zhenyi if she couldn’t read his emotions written all over his face? Even the smile on his lips couldn’t hide the hurt in his eyes.
Suddenly, she was reminded of her husband. He would usually do the same thing.
…
