The Typhoon’s Dangerous Wife - Chapter 379
“Your husband wants to see you.”
This was the first thing Fan Bingbing said when she met Zhenyi the next time. The look on Fan Bing bing face as she uttered these words was saying that there was more to this matter than she was letting the other person know.
“He is back?” Zhenyi asked her as if surprised. There was no excitement or twinkle in her eyes. Instead, there was a bland look on her face, not matching the person who was trying to act all surprised or shocked.
“Stop acting as if you are surprised,” Fan Bingbing said in frustration. “Your father and husband had been blowing up my phone. They are asking me to ask you to meet them.”
When she said Long Jie and Xin Yichen were blowing up her phone, it was not an exaggeration. The first thing Long Jie did after reaching China was to meet her and order (yes order not request) her to ask Zhenyi to meet her.
“Ah?” Zhenyi asked lazily across the mirror. “Tell them I am comfortable and have no wish to come anytime soon.” She paused for a moment and knocked on the glass wall between them and said in a bit of a fierce tone,” And instead of wasting time feeling sad and guilty, just look for the true criminal. Poor me has been suffering here all alone.”
“Zhenyi!! Your words are contradictory,” Fan Bingbing told her.
On one hand, Zhenyi was saying that she was comfortable in jail and in the very second sentence she was saying in a pitiful tone that she was suffering here all alone. Even she, as Xin Zhenyi, very personal assistant, didn’t know what to believe. Her friend-slash-boss could be a pain in the neck sometimes.
“Whatever!” Zhenyi lazily yawned. She paused for a minute and then added, “You look awful.”
“Stop worrying about me,” Fan Bingbing said harshly. She knew that her eyes didn’t look better than panda eyes. Eye bags under her eyes were prominently visible now along with the pale tone of her skin. If she didn’t know better, she would have said that Zhenyi looked better than her even when she was staying in jail and she…
Nevermind.
“Who the hell is worrying about you?” retorted Zhenyi. “I’m just stating the facts. It looks as if telling the truth is a sin these days.”
Ignoring Zhenyi’s dramatic behaviour which was the result of her inactive lifestyle of jail, she said “You look quite weak. Are you taking your med? And food on time?”
Zhenyi had lost way too much weight in the past couple of weeks. She was looking unbelievably thin and fragile.
She didn’t comment for a long time. In the end, she just said, “Hmmm… My dressing needed to be changed. Isn’t it three days already?”
The doctor had advised her to get her dressing changed after every three days.
Fan Bingbing nodded her head. “Where would you like to get your dressing changed here or in the hospital?”
“It’s not like it’s in my own hand,” Zhenyi commented. “Just inform the officers and they will see.”
” I will see what I can do, “Fan Bingbing quickly said when she saw that their time was almost up. “About Long Jie….”
“Not now…”
…
On the other hand, Alcina who had just opened her eyes after a long slumber got startled after seeing an older woman smiling warmly at her. She bowed her head to show her respect as their gazes met.
“Good morning, Mrs Tang, how are you feeling?” She asked her in a voice that settled all the negative feelings rising inside her head. “I’m your doctor Su Bei. Would you please let me take your pulse?”
Alcina unconsciously raised her wrist and the doctor tenderly caught it to take the pulse.
She nodded in appreciation and said, “Your stats look better than before.” Alcina blinked her big green eyes at the elderly lady. “Still not good enough to put you out of bed rest. You may not know but you have put you and your baby’s life at quite a big risk. Stress is fatal for future mama, I hope you know this.”
“I’m sorry, Doctor Su,” Alcina murmured. She didn’t know what had happened to her at that moment. But seeing Ryuu’s face at that moment had made many of her fears true. “My husband?”
“Lord Ryuu is with the little missy outside. Would you like me to call him?” The doctor told her.
Alcina shook her head. Her little girl must have been scared. She was quite overprotective of her parents. And she couldn’t imagine why she might have been thinking all this time. It was good that Ryuu was with Faye. No one understands and reads Faye like the way Ryuu does. Their bond might be enviable but Alcina knew the importance of it.
“You have a very beautiful and unique daughter,” Su Bei commented with a fond smile on her face. “If lady Tang had been here, she would have been so proud of her. Her children and grandchild are as remarkable as she was. If not more.”
Alcina nodded her head with a grateful smile playing on her lips. “You seem to know her well.”
“How can I not?” The doctor said with so much pride and happiness that Alcin could understand her for a minute. She looked at her hands, “With these hands, Lord Ryuu and Young Miss Zhenyi had come to this world. I’m an old lady now and have quit my profession a couple of years ago. But yesterday when Lord Ryuu called, I couldn’t express my happiness knowing I am going to help Mrs Tang bring another life to this world.”
“You delivered Ryuu?” Alcina asked the excited doctor.
The doctor nodded enthusiastically. “He was such a big baby. When those beautiful brown eyes glanced at me, my heart melted like butter on a hot pan.” She let out a humorous laugh. “Young Miss was a unique case. Lady Tang tried so much to hush the crying baby but she didn’t. In the end, a very troubled Master Yichen held her in his arms and the baby started wailing more loudly. Even thinking about that day makes me laugh. They were becoming parents for the second time, yet they were so awkward. It was only when little Lord ran inside the room and asked her father to let him hold her. Just as Lord Ryuu, took her in his small arms, the baby girl stopped crying and was looking at him with those beautiful big eyes of hers. He made Lady Tang envious for the first time that day. ”
Alcina laughed. “I can imagine. Even today, the pair of siblings can make anyone envious.”
The doctor sighed out all of a sudden. “How good it would have been if the little young master would have been saved? Lord Ryuu would have doted on the little young master too.” Alcina could read the pain on the elderly woman’s face as she said,” It was such an unfortunate incident that not only Tang family lost their head in that horrible event but the future and the future heir of Xin family too. Our little Young Master Xin.”
For a long time, Alcina couldn’t understand what the elderly lady was talking about. She looked at her with knitted brows as if asking her to elaborate. Who was she talking about? Which Young Master Xin?
As much as she knew, there was no Young Master Xin, only Young Miss Xin Zhenyi.
“I don’t understand what you are talking about, Doctor Su?”Alcina directly asked her. ” What Young Master Xin are you talking about?”
Doctor Su Bei had a look of understanding on her face as she said, “You might not know but even in Lady Tang’s third pregnancy, I was her doctor. She wanted to know about the gender of her baby and I didn’t find it suspicious as who in the family didn’t know her dislike for surprises? I loved giving shocks but hates receiving surprises. She wanted to know the gender of her unborn baby. And it was a boy. The little Young Master Xin. This was the name, she used to use while talking to her unborn baby.”
To say that Alcina was surprised, had to be an understatement. How could she not know her mother-in-law’s tendency of surprising– no shocking the hell out of people?!
If the doctor was saying that Tang Reine’s child was a boy, not a girl, then it meant that she could be right and Tang Reine was doing nothing but playing a game once again.
“Are you sure doctor that it was a boy?” Alcina once again asked her.
“Of course, why would I lie about it? It had been around nineteen years since that day, but I can still remember it like yesterday,” Doctor Su Bei said. “I was supposed to send the reports to Lady Tang’s residence that day even though I have informed he rod the result over the phone, but before I could send the reports, my office caught fire and all the records of her including many other people were burnt. This is why I remember that day all too well.”
“How did your office caught fire?” Alcina asked her.
“Short-circuit happened.”
No, it short-circuit don’t happen, Tang Reine and her sharp brain happened!
