“Who was watching?”

“The old man. Who else?”

Mi Young’s eyes widened even more upon hearing Zhong Yu’s statement. “The Great Sage was watching but he didn’t even help?!”

“It was part of your trial.” Zhong Yu says.

“Almost dying is part of my trial? Really?” Mi Young asks in a sarcastic voice.

“Do you want me to keep talking or not?” The other party replies. Mi Young huffs out a breath before she nodded and said a small ‘go on’ towards Zhong Yu.

“So anyway, where was I?” The other party starts to say, “Ah. So he took my ability and told me to go and help you because you will need my guidance. Then, things changed and now we’re suddenly stuck here. So while we’re running away from the beasts earlier I saw someone standing on top of this cave, and I didn’t even need to see him clearly to know that it was him. I got injured so I was a little bit too weak to help myself up, plus I was poisoned with that attack which caused half of my body to be paralyzed.”

“And then I took you here?”

Zhong Yu nodded his head after that. “And then you took me here. However, the part where we were resting earlier was still too low, that’s why the scorpion was able to attack. It can easily grab us any moment that time – which is also why I was telling you to go higher. But then you were too focus on my injuries…and then sh*it happened.”

“Sorry…” The black haired girl says while giving the man an apologetic smile. “What can I do? I panicked after seeing your injury.”

The man rolled his eyes at her before continuing with a shrug. “Anyway I was able to dodge the scorpion and used all my remaining strength to teleport on top of this cave. That’s when I had a talk with the old man and he gave me back my abilities so I can help you.”

“Wait. So what you mean to say is, the Great Sage gave you your ability back because he wanted you to help me?” Mi Young asks with a careful tone.

Zhong Yu looks confused for a minute before he says, “Uh huh?”

“Then why didn’t you help me you idiot when it was the first thing you needed to do?!” The black haired students shouts while giving the man a murderous look. She was too focused shooting daggers at Zhong Yu that she didn’t even notice the stone cave they were staying at was shaking even more this time.

“As I have said, it was fun to watch.” The other party says nonchalantly.

“You f*cking—” The young girl was about to throw her arms at the man and strangle him but the moment she raised her arms, that’s when the cave they were staying in decided to collapse. “Oh sh*t!”

The first thing Mi Young felt was the sudden disappearance of the solid stone beneath her. After that, she feels her body falling downwards and towards the giant desert beast which was already waiting for them. The young girl instantly closes her eyes and waits for the impact but nothing comes.

When the black haired girl opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the cloudless sky, followed by the sound of something big flapping against the wind. And then, that’s when she realized that instead of falling like she should have, Mi Young was flying upwards and towards the sky.

“Woah.” The young girl says when she looked at her surroundings and realized she was flying on the back of the golden dragon, which was Zhong Yu by the way. “This is so cool.”

The student didn’t waste any of her time as she looks down at the desert and sees the scorpion looking up at them while it wails angrily at the air. Mi Young laughs at it before she settles down at Zhong Yu’s back. Mi Young sighs before she starts feeling the wind hit her skin. It was an amazing feeling to be, with nothing but the wind caressing her skin and blowing her hair away, and Zhong Yu’s wings the only thing she can hear.

Although her situation was definitely bad, it’s somehow good to see such scenery despite everything that has happened.

“Oh how I wish Se Heon gets to see this.” The black haired girl whispers to herself all of a sudden.

Since she knew Zhong Yu couldn’t speak to her yet, she decided to close her eyes and let the constant flapping of the dragon’s wings lull her to sleep.

“Where are you ladies going?” The man with the black cape asks while his hands stop the two ladies in front.

The smaller figure with the hooded cloak steps forward and says in a confident voice, “We’re here to attend important business. I think it’s best if you step out of our way now.”

“I’m sorry but the High Lords have ordered us to stop anyone from entering this part of the city.” The figure says with a stern voice.

“Really? Then tell the High Lords that the Grand Master of the City has given us the permission to enter this part of Furotingu.” The smaller figure continues to protest.

The hooded guard freezes for a moment before he asks, “Can you show me a proof?”

“Here.” The taller party says while she handed the man the letter containing the Grand Master’s signature.

The guard studies it for a few seconds before he sighs and tells the two figures a small apology. He then moved out of their way and told them that they are now permitted to go inside.

“Thank you.” The taller person with the hood says in a flirtatious voice making the man freeze on his spot for the second time. The smaller party has to drag her away before she could even blow their cover up.

“Really? Do you have to flirt with all the men that would block us?” Shin Yu asks when they were finally far from the soldier.

Ning Gwang chuckles before answering her cousin in the same voice as he answered with the soldier earlier, “Don’t worry, little cousin. I’m just playing with them.”

“Stop using that voice on me. It’s disgusting.” The Grand Master says before she pushes Ning Gwang’s face away from her. “And don’t call me your ‘little cousin’!”

“Why not? You are my little cousin!” Ning Gwang protests while stomping her foot like a child.

Gods, you’re embarrassing.” Was the only thing the Grand Master can utter before she starts marching off towards where the secret headquarters was located.

“Wake up.”

“Wake up.”

“Wake up!”

Mi Young bolts up the moment she hears Zhong Yu’s voice shouting right near her ear. She winces at the small pain first before she starts shooting daggers at the man once more.

“Can you at least wake me up in a natural way?”

“I tried to but you won’t wake up.” Zhong Yu says with a shrug. When he sees that the girl isn’t going back to sleep any time soon, the other party settles down at the empty spot in front of her. “So, how are you feeling?”

“Fine. I guess.” Mi Young answers while gently massaging her temple. “It feels like I haven’t slept for an eternity.”

“I know. I’m awesome.”

“What does it have to do with you?” The black haired girl questions while looking at the man in confusion.

“Well, you fell asleep while riding at my back so it does have something to do with me.” Zhong Yu answers like it was the most factual thing in the entire world.

“Has anyone ever told you how conceited you are?” The young student asks while crossing her arms at the man.

“The old man always tells me that. Don’t worry, I’m used to it.” Zhong Yu replies with an arrogant yet confident tone.

Seeing as the man is already so used to hearing it, the young girl only shakes her head at her. “What now? Wait, where are we exactly?”

Zhong Yu looks around like he was calculating what region they were before he turns to the black haired girl again and says, “I don’t know.”

“Are we still in the desert?”

“Uhn. Seeing as there is still sand everywhere around us, I think we’re still somewhere in the desert.” Zhong Yu replies with complete sarcasm.

But Mi Young was still tired so she didn’t have enough energy to argue with the man. She just nodded her head before she remained quiet again.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” The other party asks once more while he looks at the girl with concern.

“Yes. Why?”

“You look like you just miss your lover back at the academy.” The other party teases.

Mi Young sighs before he keeps a steady eye contact with the man. “First, I do not miss someone. And second, I don’t have any lover.”

“Why not? I mean you might be small but I’m pretty sure you’re beautiful.” Zhong Yu answers like what he just said didn’t make the young girl’s face turn a deep shade of red.

“B-Because I don’t have time for relationships!” Mi Young announces while giving the man another glare.

“Woah. Calm down.. I was just asking.”
