The Unsurpassed Maiden - Chapter 143
“F*cking hell.” Mi Young whispers as she opens one of her eyes to check where the giant beast was. She heaved out a sigh of relief when she saw that it was also recovering from the last minute attack she had made just before she flew completely away from where she was standing.
The black haired girl tried to stand up but realized that one of her feet was stuck on a huge rock. Mi Young hisses while she watches the weight of the rock on top of her foot. She might not feel the pain yet but she knows it would surely sore a few minutes later. Mi Young scoffs as she looks at her pathetic state.
“I was only focusing on something for a few minutes and you already got yourself looking like this. How pathetic.” A voice suddenly says from above her.
When the young girl looked up, she was already glaring at her master. Despite the huge age gap and experiences between them, Mi Young still had the guts to throw a middle finger at Zhong Yu. “You were taking so long. It was just a simple spell.”
Instead of getting insulted with the girl’s poor attitude, Zhong Yu let out a joyful laugh as he held out his arms for the younger. “You sure are arrogant for someone who needs some help.”
“What can I say, my first teacher is a bad bitch.” Mi Young says, knowing full well that the other party knows who she was talking about. “Anyway, before you pull me up, help me pull off that huge rock on top of my foot first.”
Zhong Yu cocks his head to the side and travels his eyes towards the younger party’s foot. He winced as he saw the large piece of earth on top of his student’s foot. “Ooh. Must hurt a lot.”
“It does hurt like a bitch so why don’t you help me get it off now?” Mi Young asks while sending the man a murderous glare. Zhong Yu didn’t waste any time as he walked towards the younger party’s legs. He does a battle technique and seconds later, a huge piece of lightning came from the heavens and struck the rock that was on top of the student’s feet.
Mi Young yelled because of nervousness. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?!”
Zhong Yu looked at her, puzzled. “What? You said you want me to get that thing off your feet!”
“But why do you have to use that lightning?! What if I get toasted?!” Mi Young shouts while she starts to slowly stand up.
“Well, did you die?” Zhong Yu questions.
The black haired girl sends another murderous glare at the other party, not even caring anymore that it was a legend who she was being rude at.
Mi Young was about to scold him again when a sudden noise a few feet away from them startled her.
“What’s that?” The black haired girl squinted her eyes so she could adjust her eyesight and see what was happening through the sandy mayhem in front of them. “What’s happening?”
“Whatever’s happening there, we better hurry before we get caught up on that.” Zhong Yu says while he looks at the sand storm up ahead. He glances at his necklace before saying, “I still need a few hours before I can fully transform so we should run along now.”
“About that, you know…” Mi Young starts to say. Then she glances at her feet and back at Zhong Yu. She doesn’t want to sound like a helpless girl so she clears her throat while she looks away from the man’s intense gaze. “Y-You can leave me here. I’ll be fine.”
Zhong Yu scoffs at her. “Well, that’s insulting.”
“D-Did I insult you?”
“Why of course it’s insulting. I was the one who created that spell and even I myself knows how devastating it is to get caught up in that mess. And here you are saying that you’ll be fine just because you don’t want to ask me to carry you.” Zhong Yu explains while crossing his arms at Mi Young.
The young girl’s face was now redder than usual, and it’s not because of the heat coming from the intense battle ahead of them nor the sun, but because of embarrassment that her teacher guessed her inner thoughts.
“I-It would be a hassle if you have to—”
Mi Young wasn’t even able to finish her sentence as the other party was now crouching below her. “Get on.”
The young girl’s face became even redder the moment she saw her master’s position.
“I’m not getting younger here.” Zhong Yu says while his hands were still waiting for her student. “If you don’t want to come I can just leave you here with that sto—”
“Okay! Okay! Fine!” The young girl cries out as she hops on the other party’s back. Surprisingly, it felt really comfortable.
“Good. Let’s go.” Before the black haired girl can even react, Zhong Yu starts to run like a madman across the desert and away from the storm he just made.
Mi Young didn’t expect that such a man could run as fast as that. She wondered if it was only Zhong Yu stuck here, he would have already found a way out. She realized she was being too much of a deadweight for the man.
Because of thinking too much, the young girl didn’t even notice that they had already stopped and were now standing on a different part of the desert. Instead of seeing plain sand, she can now see the outlines of a city.
“We’re here.” Zhong Yu says before he puts the young girl down to settle on her feet. “Before we go there, I think we should heal your injury first.”
The black haired girl couldn’t even form any words as she looked at her companion and back towards the city far ahead from them. “Is that really a city? Or am I just hallucinating?”
Zhong Yu chuckled before he led Mi Young to sit on a rock on their side. “You’re not hallucinating. That’s real.”
Mi Young looks at her teacher who was now crouching below her and slowly lifting up her injured foot. “How did you know such a place exists?”
“I didn’t know it was real. I just followed my instincts.” Zhong Yu replied as he started to do some hand gestures that can help heal Mi Young’s injury.
“I wish I would have the same instincts.” Mi Young whispers to herself but enough for Zhong Yu to hear.
The other party chuckled as he started putting on pressure on the young girl’s foot. “You have sharp instincts, you just think too low of yourself. Hm? What do they call that these days? Ah, you have a low self esteem.”
Mi Young pouts at Zhong Yu after hearing what the other party said. “Well, it’s not my fault that I just realized I have this much power within me. I still don’t even think that this is real.”
“Well, start thinking again because I’m telling you, everything that is happening to you and around you now is 100 percent real.” Zhong Yu says while giving her a warning look. “This may hurt a little bit but bare with it yeah? It’s supposed to complete the healing spell.”
“Just get on with it.” Mi Young says while closing her eyes and biting her lower lip.
She heard Zhong Yu chuckle and she was about to scold him for laughing at her but the moment she was about to open her mouth, the man twisted her foot in a very painful way. Mi Young can even hear her bones snap before the pain gradually disappears.
“Sh*t. That hurts a lot!” Mi Young says while the pain slowly disappears. She touched her foot and tried to step using it. The black haired girl smiled the moment she felt no pain at all. She looks at the other party and says in a grateful voice. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. Masters need to save their apprentice so they can learn from them, right?” Zhong Yu says with a smug look. “But don’t expect me to not ask anything in return.”
Mi Young rolled her eyes at her teacher for that. She crosses her arms before asking him, “And what do you want in return?”
“Help me take Ning Gwang out on a date.” Zhong Yu smiles, showing his pearly white teeth that almost blinded the black haired girl.
“Of course.” The young girl replies while shaking her head and letting a few chuckle at her master. “Whatever you say. As long as we get out of here alive.”
“Oh trust me, we’re getting out of here. Together with your friends and Hae Choon.” Zhong Yu says while sending her a playful wink. “So just sit back and relax because things are going to get serious now.”
“What do you mean?” Mi Young asks while looking at the other party with a confused expression.
Zhong Yu smiled at her before saying, “You’ll see.”
