The Unsurpassed Maiden - Chapter 165
Mi Young freezes on her spot. She wants to ask and demand Hae Choon for answers. She wants the other party to tell her that he was only kidding but looking at the seriousness reflecting on the other party’s eyes, Mi Young is one hundred percent sure that he was in no way joking.
The black haired girl’s eyebrows furrowed for a bit trying to see if the other party was bluffing but she remembered that she had never mentioned to Hae Choon about her main reason why she went with her teacher and her other companion here. To seek and find answers about her dreams.
She also remembered that she had never mentioned to anyone except for the Grand Master and her teacher and Kwang Soo about her dreams and about the prophecy. And what did Hae Choon say? The prophecy was about her?
“Mi Young!”
The black haired girl blinks her eyes as she snaps out from her thoughts. She looks at Hae Choon who now has a panicked look on his face. Mi Young opened her mouth and asked, “What?”
“The beast is trying to get out!” Hae Choon announces as he grips the black haired girl’s shoulders. “Wake up. We need to move and execute our plan now!”
Although she still had so many questions, the young girl couldn’t do anything but nod her head to the other party. “O-Okay.”
She watches as Hae Choon readied himself so he can go out from where they were hiding and take the beast’s attention and keep it on him until Mi Young is finally on top of the huge beast. However, just when the other party was about to step out from the shadows where they were hiding, he looks back at the black haired girl and with a concerned voice he asks, “Are you sure you’re okay with this?”
Mi Young knew that she was making the other party feel guilty so she nodded her head in confirmation and with a determined voice she answered, “Yes, don’t worry about me. Now, go!”
Hae Choon bites his lips before nodding his head at Mi Young one last time and running towards the beast’s front to get its attention.
While watching Hae Choon, the young girl takes a deep breath before she slowly sneaks out from the shadows to get behind the beast without getting its attention.
When Mi Young emerges from the shadows she sees Hae Choon poking the One-Eyed Ram using the spear he had made. The beast glowered and growled at Hae Choon as it tried its best in order to get away from the trap. Mi Young checks the beast’s condition and sees that a huge part of its horns were still stuck on Hae Choon’s self-made trap so she was good to go.
“So help me gods.” Mi Young whispers to herself in order to give herself some determination and courage.
She walks closely towards the beast’s behind and that’s when she realized that the One-Eyed Ram is indeed very huge. If she can measure it correctly, she thinks it’s the same size as her Medusa, or even larger given the fact that the beast was lying on the ground.
“If Hae Choon mentioned something about this beast being smaller than the other ancient beasts, then how big can the other ancient beasts be?” Mi Young asks herself. Shaking her head to shake off the fear that was starting to crawl through her body, the black haired girl inhaled another sharp breath. “Here goes nothing.”
On the other side of the building Hae Choon was still trying his best to keep the beast’s attention on him. He made his very effort just so the beast wouldn’t notice the young girl who was now starting to crawl on top of its tail.
Hae Choon casts a side glance at the black haired girl before returning his gaze back at the giant beast. Looking at it more closely now, Hae Choon was suddenly reminded of the scene that unfolded in front of him when this savage beast attacked his town and killed every single one of his family.
He thought that the beast was overwhelmed with the sudden war at first that’s why it attacked anyone it sees on its way. However, when he saw the figure sitting on top of the beast’s head, laughing cruelly as the beast stomped and crashed everybody who was on its way, Hae Choon felt rage. He felt nothing but rage. Pure and strong rage that he had never felt before.
Upon remembering the memories of the past, Hae Choon was then again filled with so much hate and rage that he saw nothing but red.
“Why should I wait for Mi Young when I can kill this beast right now?” Hae Choon asks himself while he looks at the horn of the beast which was still stuck on top of the trap he had made. Then, he looks at the beast who was now looking at him with the same hatred he felt. “I will kill you.”
Forgetting the plan he had made with Mi Young, Hae Choon executed a battle technique he was very familiar with. He had never used this battle technique after the Dark War but seeing the beast who killed his clan right now in front of him, he wishes he can use the same battle technique on it for as long as he wants just to make the beast feel the agony and pain he felt for thousands of years.
As Hae Choon continues executing his killing technique, Mi Young freezes while she’s now on top of the beast’s back. She suddenly felt a very strong killing intent that she wanted to cower in fear and hide in the corner just to stop it from getting into her.
At first Mi Young thought that it was coming from the beast but after following the source of the killing intent, the black haired girl’s eyes widened when she saw Hae Choon performing a battle technique she had never seen but knows what it is about.
“No…Hae Choon…” Mi Young whispers while she looks at the hand gestures Hae Choon was doing. “No…No…”
When she realized what the other party was trying to do, Mi Young abandons their plan as she jumps all the way from the top of the beast’s back and down to the floor where eHae Choon was. Although she was still a few meters away from the other party, Mi Young didn’t even mind when the beast turned its giant head towards her direction as she let out a loud cry.
“Hae Choon!” Mi Young cries out as she does her best in order to run towards the other party before it’s too late. “Hae Choon stop! You’re going to kill yourself!”
The black haired girl’s heart started beating even rapidly inside her chest, she was afraid it was going to come out from her body because of how strong it was beating, when she realized that the other party was finally done executing the technique.
“F*ck Hae Choon you f*cking moron!” Mi Young whispers as she stops running and covers herself the moment Hae Choon calls out his murderous lightning spear.
The moment the spear hits the One-Eyed Ram’s Mi Young hears the beast’s agonizing and painful scream. Although she was covering her whole head she can still see a blinding white light enveloping the whole floor of the clock tower. Mi Young felt tremors after tremors as Hae Choon continued pouring out his mana towards the beast.
A few minutes passed by, the blinding light finally vanished as well as the strong tremors and the strong gust of air. Mi Young can feel her body still shaking from the shock, fear, and many mixed emotions. However, the only thing that was running inside her mind was Hae Choon’s safety.
When the black haired girl realizes that everything is back to normal, with a shaking hand she slowly removes her hands that were covering her whole head. She looks up to see that almost ¾ of the room was burned and a small circle around her was spared, the black haired girl gapes while looking at the untouched part around her. Then, she remembered Hae Choon.
Mi Young looks up towards her friend’s direction so fast that she almost goes dizzy. Her eyes widened when she saw Hae Choon lying lifeless on the ground.
“Hae Choon!” The black haired girl shouts as she runs to touch Hae Choon. The other party’s body was so cold and full of sweat, when the black haired girl touched his heart, Mi Young’s body froze when she realized it wasn’t beating anymore. “H-Hae Choon…”
Tears started forming around the black haired girl’s eyes as she held the lifeless body of her friend. She hugs Hae Choon as she continues rocking back and forth, trying her best to feel the warmth from the other party.. But it was not used anymore.
