The Unusual At Trost Academy - Chapter 32 The Storm Jamie
Scorpio and I looked at each other. We didn’t even recognize him down there. Between the resilience, his new form, and his injuries I didn’t know if that was Bill fighting. Akumura slowly stood up, and raised his fist to the sky. “Bill Walker, eliminated!” There was a small bit of movement from the ground. “Don’t…” Scorpio sounded like she was trying not to cry, “You can’t handle it.” He stood up, and collapsed almost immediately. Akumura walked away. Right before he reached the entrance to the locker room, the speakers around the stadium screeched. “Hello,” the voice was distorted, “This message is pre-recorded, so don’t expect many questions to be answered.” Scorpio stood up, “Scorp-”
“I’ll be back. I need to do something.” She walked away. “Scorpio…”
“A majority of you have probably heard of me by now. My name is Alucard.” Brit’s ears folded back, and her eyes became slits. “And I, am the current head of the Black Hoops.”
“As we speak, I am within your ranks. I will not give my identity, but I can confirm that I am here.” I looked down at the arena. Both Bill and Akumura were nowhere to be seen. “I’m going to offer a proposition. My father is coming over in one month,” I looked at Naomi, she didn’t look back. Her gaze shot around the crowd. “If those who attacked my base and men are not handed over by that time, we will feed on not only them, but the rest of the school.” Brit arched her back. There was another screech, then silence. No one knew what to say. I grabbed Naomi’s hand, and flew off.
“What are you doing?!” She tried biting my hand, but didn’t use enough force to pierce my skin. “Calm down,” I landed in front of the dorm hall, “I’ve got an idea.” Naomi shook her head, “No. We need to find Alucard. He’s not dead!”
“No, he is. Or at least, the one we fought is,” Scorpio opened the door, “it was a fake. A decoy, from the real thing.”
“And we’re going to take it down before it can harm anyone else.” A voice screeched from her phone, “My name is Helena Von Hellsing, C.E.O. of the Topaz Mining Company, but more important to the situation, professional Vampire hunter. I’ve been researching the Dracula lineage of Vampires my whole life. I may be the exact solution to your problem” Naomi rolled her eyes, and tapped Scorpio’s phone. “Lost me at Vampire hunter.” Scorpio put her phone in her pocket. “I know, you’re going to say give her a chance, or something like that, but that’s like telling a Brando to work with a Joestar and not have any plot to kill them. There’s no way she’s going to cooperate with one vampire, let alone two.”
“Naomi. Please. At the moment, she’s the only hope we have. I’ve heard about Dracula’s power-” Naomi grabbed her and threw her on the ground, “I’m not working with her.” She opened the door, and walked inside.
I helped Scorpio up, “If it helps, I’ll gladly work with her. I mean, we’re going to need all the help we can get.” She brushed herself off, “Thanks. I’m fine, as long as we don’t have any issues between those two.” I opened the door, “We should probably finish this once the other two get back. Today’s been, eventful. We need time to process everything.” Scorpio lowered her head, “Yeah, you’re right.” I opened the door, and we walked in.
Brit sat on her bed frantically flipping through pages of a book. “Where is it, where is it, where is it?”
“What are you doing?”
“Right now? Trying to find a spell that can keep vampires out without expelling demons as well. We need as much protection as possible.” Bill laid down, “It’s our fault.”
“What?”
“If we didn’t let our emotions take hold, we wouldn’t have gone after the Hoops. Now the school is in danger, and it’s our fault.” Scorpio sat next to him, and slapped him. “What was that for?!”
“Now is not the time for that! We’re on the brink of an attack, possibly death! And all you’re thinking of is whose fault it is?! Pull yourself together!”
“I, I know. But-”
“No! No buts! We can’t sit here and mope!” I put my hand on Scorpio’s shoulder, “Calm down. I know dealings with Alucard are, personal, but we can’t-”
“We can’t what? We can’t get too emotional?”
“No, we can’t let our emotions drive us. If I’ve learned anything from living on the streets, the most important things in a fight for your life is rationality and composure. You’ve struggled with that.” She sighed, “You’re right, but still. I can’t just sit here. The only one who should have any business doing that is Brit. We need to take action as soon as possible.” I shook my head, “No. You saw Bill’s, and you remember how we fared against Alucard. This would be like taking on three of him. We need time to prepare, if we go after them now, we’d be decimated.”
We all sat down, trying to think of what to do next. “Hope you don’t mind us letting ourselves in,” The door creaked open, and Chasan, Akumura, and Naomi walked in, “We have some things to discuss.”
