The Unusual At Trost Academy - Chapter 39 Home Scorpio
Bill and I sat at a restaurant in town. “Are you sure we’re supposed to be here? After all-” Bill waved the question away, “Chasan gave me permission to go our here. I’m here to find a spot to release the seal that was placed on the Demons.” I moved her hair out of my face, “That’s not what I meant. I mean, here, in a restaurant. We don’t know who here is a member of the Black Hoops.”
“You mean the large masses of people dressed in all black? Yeah, super unsure. Even so, I’m already wearing black, so it’s not like they’re gonna be suspicious of me.” I sighed, “I guess you’re right. But still, I’ve got an uneasy feeling.” He put his hand on my shoulder, “It’s fine. If anything-” I freaked out and jumped back. “Wha-”
“It’s nothing.”
“Are, you sure? I mean, you’re really red all of a sudden.” Was it that obvious? “Yes, if we’re going to try and find a place where we can release them, we should hurry. It’s already 12.” He nodded in agreement.
“Are you sure you’re fine? You keep, stumbling whenever you get close to me.” I sighed, “Yes. I’m fine. I’m probably just tired. I forgot how, talkative, Pisces got.” He shrugged, “I dunno, I’ve been tired before.” I pulled my scythe and curved the blade around his neck, “I’m fine, got it?” He put his hands up, “Alright, I’ll believe you for now.” I put it back, “Good. Now,” I looked over the city, “Where do we start?”
Bill pointed to large mansion near the edge of downtown, “How about there? If there’s a good amount of people there, there should be more energy.” I looked at the building. It seemed, familiar. “Wait, do you know that place?” I squinted for a second. It was on the tip of my tongue. “I think,” it suddenly clicked, “That’s my house.”
“THAT’S WHAT?! HOW COULD YOU TAKE SO LONG TO REMEMBER THAT?!” I laughed nervously, “Yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve seen it, let alone been there. If we’re opening any portals to Hell though, it might work.” He looked at it, as if he was sizing it up, “Yeah, might as well be a start.”
I walked up to the gate, and pressed a buzzer. “Who is-” A voice started, “Oh! Miss Topaz! Please, come in.” The gates opened, and Bill and I walked in. Bill looked around in awe, “So, you live here?” I nodded. “And you aren’t one off those ‘ehh, I need to eat my scones at exactly 6 in the morning or I’ll combust’ kind of people?” I nodded, “A majority of the questions you have, yes. If you want, I can give you somewhat of a tour. I mean, we have a priority, but eh.” He shrugged, “I mean, if you want to. As you said though, we’re here doing something.” I looked around. The lawn seemed, larger, than when I left. There was a stone added on a pile in front of the doors, each one for a deceased member of the family. I looked at it, and sighed. “Yeah, we’ve got time.” I opened one of the doors, and we walked inside.
The floor in the plaza was covered with gemstones. Each one was from the first mine my family I had, and each one was placed by a member of the family. Bill looked around, “Are you sure someone can live here?” I nodded, “Yes. Pisces and I have lived here our entire lives. Honestly, I’ve never understood why people want to be in here though. I spent a majority of my life trying to find a way to get out of here.” Bill looked at me. “What? It’s true!” He just kept glaring. With his new eyes, it was a lot more intimidating than before. The lack of white made him almost seem like he didn’t have a soul. “I know, you were homeless. But I really didn’t like this. I barely got to do anything, and that was before-” images flashed through my mind of the incident, “never mind. What I’m saying is that neither lifestyle is good. One is overprotected, and the other is under-protected. It’s a disparity I’m planning on fixing.” Bill sighed, “Alright. So,” he started walking forward, “Where to first?”
