The Upgrade System - Chapter 17
“Yes, I accept the Quest.”
‘I can look at the level of the item and its effects, it shouldn’t be too hard for me to find a good item.’
Dan went in and started to look for some items and he found a lot of good items.
There were even books for battle techniques even though, he had been in this world for over 11 months, he didn’t have a single one because most of them were taken by the powerful families and this was his chance to get a battle technique.
From what Dan knew, there were stages to the battle techniques. There were the earth stage and the profound stage battle techniques which were each divided into low, middle, and high ranks. In the village, the best technique was already the middle earth ranked technique.
[Name: Iron Fist]
[Stage: Low Earth ranked technique]
[Discription: This technique allows the user to make a fist hard as iron. When attacking, it adds +30 strength to the attack.]
[Upgrade cost: 500 UP points]
[Successful Chance of Upgrade: 50%]
[Current UP points: 5]
[Requires 500 UP points to learn instantly.]
‘Wow, I can level up battle techniques and I can learn techniques like this instantly! Too bad, I only have 5 UP points.’
Dan found other battle techniques that were all Low Earth ranked but he kept searching for other things and eventually found some weapons and armors which were pretty good.
[Name: Sword]
[Level: 5]
[Duribility: 200/200]
[+25 Strength]
[Upgrade cost: 160 UP points]
[Successful Chance of Upgrade: 80%]
[Current UP points: 5]
For the armor, it was just level 5 shoes which would give him a +20 defense.
As Dan was looking through, he found an old book. The title read, “An introduction to Alchemy.”
[Name: An introduction to Alchemy – Book]
[Duribility: 3/10]
[Discription: As the name suggests, the book will teach you how to start learning alchemy.]
‘I really want a battle technique, swords, and armors but I don’t think I will need to fight too much on earth and even if I do need to, I will be able to beat everyone with my current strength.’
‘On the other hand, I could take the book introducing alchemy but there a person having a talent for alchemy is too rare. Even in the history of the village, no one has ever seen an alchemist plus you also need a good cauldron and rare herbs. Lastly, you need an alchemist to teach you if you want to have a higher chance to succeed in becoming an alchemist.’
‘I only have a minute, which one do I pick?’
