The Upgrade System - Chapter 6
Dan and James got to the village and the village was all made out of wood, not something you would see much in the 21st century especially if you lived in the city.
“Let’s go meet the village chief, maybe he recognizes you.”
“Sure, let’s go.”
James leads Dan towards the middle of the village and while going there, a lot of the villagers are looking at Dan.
‘They are probably looking at me because of the clothes, they are different from the clothes they are wearing.’
James and Dan get to the middle of the village, James knocks on the door.
“Come in.”
As Dan enters the house, he doesn’t see a lot of things.
The 40-year looking man tells Dan and James to sit down and asks, “James, who is the young man?”
James tells the village chief John everything about Dan that he knows.
“Ok, I see. I am sorry to tell you but I don’t recognize you nor the clothes you are wearing, you probably aren’t from around here.”
“Since that’s the case how about you stay in the village until you gain your memories back, I have an old house that I haven’t used in a while. You can stay there for a while.”
Pulling out a book, the village chief gives the book to Dan and says, “Also, I don’t know if you have ever tried cultivation or not so I will give you this basic cultivation book.”
“Are you sure? Isn’t cultivation books like this rare and important?”
“HaHaHa, where did you hear that? It’s true that there are cultivation books that are very rare but this is just a basic cultivation book, everyone in the village has this book.”
“Then doesn’t that mean everyone is a cultivator?”
“No, just because everyone has a cultivation book doesn’t mean that everyone can become a cultivator. In fact, most people are just normal because either they can’t cultivate or they have don’t have very good talent so they just quit.”
“Then do I have the talent to cultivate?”
“I don’t know, you just have to try using the cultivation book yourself and then see if you can cultivate or not.”
The village chief, John gave Dan a couple of bread for food and asked James to send Dan to his old house.
While going to the house, Dan learned that there were around 3,000 people in the village and only about 500 people in the village could cultivate.
