“Try it. Although I can’t compete with you, I know that this school doesn’t only have shameless vampires like you! They will uphold justice for me!” I was extremely furious as I supressed my panic and tears and forced myself to look back at Karpah’s eyes!
Karpah seemed to be stung by my words. His eyes were bloodshot and looked like he was going to swallow me whole. “You sure talk big. Let’s see who will stand up for you!”
The commotion caused by my fight with Karpah wasn’t small, enough to attract the probing gazes of some nearby guests. However, when they saw that it was Karpah who was in conflict with me, their probing gazes turned to understanding. Obviously, Karpah was a habitual offender.
At this moment, the other guests had gathered around. They held their wine glasses in a relaxed manner and looked on with an elegant posture. Their smiles were full of mockery.
Although I didn’t back down, I was standing in the middle of a group of vampires.. I knew that I was alone and helpless. My hands and feet couldn’t help but shiver.
Deep in my heart, I still hoped that someone would stand up for me and save me from this ridiculous situation.
But soon my sanity told me it was impossible.
This was a gathering of vampire nobles, and it was clear that they were all in the same boat. There was no one like Yvette or Elvin.
In their eyes, I was just a spice for this ball party. The act of fighting for justice for a human like me might result in them being mocked by their companions.
My heart sank bit by bit. Just as I was about to give up all hope, a coat with a mint scent fell on my head. My shoulders, which were already cold, felt a trace of warmth.
My heart trembled.
This sudden turn of events startled the crowd.
Because I panicked, I didn’t look back for a moment. All I heard was the crisp echo of high-end leather shoes walking on the marble floor. The steps were unhurried, with a hint of authority that didn’t allow for offense. Finally, they stopped beside me.
The entire venue was silent. Even the pianist who was playing could not help but stop what he was doing.
“What do you want to do to her?” A familiar voice sounded beside my ear. I turned my head in shock and saw that it was Ansir beside me.
There was a trace of shock in Karpah’s eyes. The arrogance and smugness from before had completely disappeared. His face was pale as he smiled apologetically. “Your Highness Ansir, I… I just saw that everyone was bored and wanted to find some fun for everyone. This human sneaked into such an occasion by herself, so she should have expected such a consequence.”
“Who said she snuck in on her own?” Ansir’s voice was cold and murderous. His broad palm covered my head, and his lips curled into a nasty smile. “She’s my servant. She came in openly with my invitation.”
I looked at Ansir, my face blank.
Servant? When did I become Anseir’s servant?
What was he acting?
“I don’t…”
I was halfway through my sentence when I felt the palm above my head press harder, cutting me off.
Ansir didn’t look at me. Instead, she walked toward him under Karpah’s shocked gaze. His gaze was so calm that there wasn’t a hint of emotion in it. However, he emanated an intimidating aura. “Who gave you the guts to touch my people?”
It wasn’t that long ago when I had called Ansir a bastard, but the moment he stood in front of me, for some reason, it made me feel safe.
I adjusted my breathing and tried not to look too ragged.
The expressions on the faces of everyone present changed, and there was no longer any excitement.
Karpah, in particular, looked flustered under Ansir’s gaze, and his eyes under the mask flickered with fear. “I—I’m very sorry, Your Highness Ansir. I didn’t know she belonged to you. I thought she was just a lowly human that had delivered herself here, and that’s why I became lecherous… Your Highness, please be magnanimous and spare me this time.”
Ansir sneered at Karpah’s pleading look.
His gaze was cold, like a judge from hell. His sharp eyes looked at Karpah. “Which hand did you use to tear her clothes?”
Karpah was shaking with fear when he heard the question. He didn’t dare answer.
“I’m not patient. I’ll ask again. Which hand is it?”
Karp shakily extended his right hand. His eyes filled with fear as he said, “Your Highness Ansir, I really didn’t mean to…”
However, Ansir ignored him and continued to smile maliciously. He walked up to him and reached out to grab his wrist. Then, before Karpah could react, a snapping sound sounded as Karpah’s right wrist was twisted in the opposite direction!
Karpah’s scream echoed throughout the banquet hall!
Even the surrounding vampires could not help but tremble under this scream. They looked at each other and did not dare to make a sound.
Karpah slumped to the ground due to the intense pain. Tears flowed from his eyes, but he did not dare to resist at all.
