The Vampire’s Love for Mankind - Chapter 8

Ansir only paused for a moment, but was not fully awake.
He continued to rub my skin gently with the tip of his nose and his red lips. Finally, he slowly revealed his fangs.
The beautiful woman in red was clearly anxious. She took a few steps forward to pull him away, but Herbert beat her to it. A huge sword swung from his hand, directly between Ansir and me.
His deep voice carried a warning tone. “Ansir, she’s not a member of the Elite Society. You want to challenge the treaty?”
This sword seemed to be able to restrain Ansir. For a moment, the red light in his eyes dimmed and he took a step back.
The red-dressed beauty was also flustered and exasperated as she said to Ansir, “Ansir, wake up! Cecily didn’t do anything wrong.. You wronged her. Furthermore, she has already completed your punishment. You can’t continue hurting her for your own sake.”
“…”
Ansir turned to look at Herbert and the red-dressed beauty. His expression was indifferent, but he was afraid of the sword and did not move.
Actually, I could guess. Herbert was supposed to be the order keeper among vampires, defending the Symbiotic Treaty. Once the vampires broke the rules, he’d come out to punish them.
The sword in his hand should be effective against vampires.
The fact that the red-dressed beauty dared to confront Ansir in such a manner meant that she was likely the elder sister of Ansir, Yvette, whom they had previously mentioned. At the same time, she was also the head of the Discipline Department.
As expected, Ansir’s blood-red pupils constricted slightly. He stopped approaching my blood vessels and only tightened his grip on my hand.
Herbert simply laid the knife across Ansir’s neck. “Let her go.”
Ansie let go of me with a rough gasp. Yvette saw this and immediately held Ansir at her side, afraid that he would lose his mind again and be unable to suppress his instinctive desire.
The force holding me down disappeared. Without the support of my body, I could no longer stand. Finally, I slid to the ground.
I panted slightly to calm myself down, but I still didn’t dare to relax, because I could still feel Ansir’s dark red jade-like eyes staring intently at me, even though he had regained his senses.
Ansir’s mind was clear, but at the same time his anger at me was rekindled. He ground his fangs and glared at me fiercely.
“She asked for it. If she hadn’t provoked me time and time again, I wouldn’t have lost my mind!”
Perhaps due to the presence of Herbert and Yvette, the two reasonable vampires, I was no longer afraid of Ansir. Instead, I met his dissatisfied gaze and retorted, “President Ansir, I only followed your request to participate in the test of the Undead Room. It was your idea to transform into an evil spirit to scare me. Why don’t you admit that you were asking for a beating?”
“…You!” Ansir’s eyes widened. It was obvious that he did not expect there to be someone among the humans who dared to speak to him like this. The fury in his eyes could not wait to burn me!
“All of you, shut up!”
Queen Yvette barked out a command, interrupting my argument with Ansir. She sighed and rested a hand on her forehead. “Ansir,” she said in a resigned tone, “this time it’s really your fault. Cecily is innocent.”
Ansir was obviously unconvinced. “Sister, you actually absolved a human…”
“I’ve investigated the matter thoroughly. She didn’t violate any rules. It was the disciplinary committee who didn’t do a thorough investigation that led to this series of misunderstandings.”
Then, Yvette explained the whole story of how my bed had been fought over, and how Georgina had framed me, and how it had led to Ansir’s misunderstanding.
The whole process didn’t have any racial prejudice, and I couldn’t help but praise her in my heart. She was indeed as outstanding as the outside world had said. She was upright, kind, and fair.
On the contrary, Ansir was truly a bastard. If it wasn’t for the fact that I still had some strength to resist, anyone else might really have died from being scared to death or having their blood sucked dry.
Perhaps it was because my dissatisfaction with Ansir was displayed on my face, Ansir looked at me with a sharp gaze. It seemed like he wanted to make things difficult for me again.
At this moment, the gentle voice of a smiling man sounded. “Ansir, the puny human in your eyes has really taught you a lesson.”
Then, he applauded.
It was Elvin!
Thinking about how he had used his own power to stop the bleeding, I had already treated him as a reliable and safe existence.
He gracefully walked in front of Ansir and stood between us. “Now that the little fellow has completed her challenge and is still so outstanding, I have to reward her. Do you mind if I take her away?”
Before Ansir could speak, Yvette spoke first. “Cecily was frightened. Take her to calm down and apologize to her on behalf of Ansir.”
As if worried that Ansir would go berserk again, Yvette deliberately used her body to block Ansir before speaking to Elvin.
“Apologize to a human? I…” Ansir was clearly unconvinced!
But Yvette shot him with a fierce glare. “If you don’t want that valiant look you just showed on the school website, then behave yourself.”
“What valiant and heroic bearing?” Ansir had an ominous feeling as he asked.
