“What valiant and heroic bearing?”
Elvin smiled maliciously and waved the USB in his hand. “I’ve saved the video of you being beaten up by Cecily. If you still want to continue, I’ll put the video on the school’s official website and play it on loop.”
“Bastard!” Ansir gritted his teeth, anger shooting out of his eyes!
Elvin, however, wrapped his arm around my waist and winked playfully at me before flying out of the undead room.
Ansir roared behind him, but with Yvette and Herbert there, he probably wouldn’t be able to catch up.
Elvin didn’t let me down until we were outside the door. He put me down gently and looked at me with admiration in his smile. “Cecily, you have no idea how popular you are at school right now. Fortunately, we’re walking through a side door. The front door is already blocked by the students watching.”
I lowered my eyes worriedly. “But this kind of fame isn’t a good thing, right… I provoked Ansir, and his fans won’t let me off.”
Elvin reached out and gently stroked my hair. “If you want to become a different existence in this school, some pain may have to be experienced. I have faith in you! Perhaps you will be the first human in Rockefeller to stand shoulder to shoulder with a vampire.”
I looked into Elvin’s deep blue eyes. For a moment, I felt like I was sinking into them.
He didn’t promise to protect me, but his words had more power than commitment, because he was encouraging me to become stronger.
His words were like a pebble falling into my lonely heart, sending ripples through it.
“Okay,” I responded. “I definitely won’t let you down.”
“Let’s go, little one. I’ll take you to try some of my favorite desserts to replenish your energy.” Elvin took my hand and led me through the night once again. He was like a graceful fairy prince, without the slightest hint of the evil and ruthless aura of a vampire.
He took me to a dessert house in the school’s noble district.
This entire area was a restricted area for humans, and only vampires could enter.
Compared to the areas where humans lived and studied, this place appeared even more magnificent. Every building used for leisure and entertainment was built like a palace, extravagant and gorgeous. With jade as the wall and gemstones as the road, it simply made people feel terrified that they would damage this artistic road.
The dessert house they came to was a forbidden area. Normal vampires could only watch from the outside. Only nobles like Elvin could enter.
Because the owner of the dessert house was also an honorable vampire.
Its renovation was not as extravagant as other shops. Instead, it was very natural and fresh. It was filled with rare plants, just like a forest house in a fairy tale.
And my appearance in the shop had obviously caused quite a stir among the waiters.
“Prince Elvin! Why are you with such a lowly human? Your Highness, please be careful… Miss Hazel will be angry!”
One of the shop assistants was still staring at my feet on the carpet with a frown. “This is Miss Hazel’s favorite carpet. Please remove your dirty shoes.”
Elvin smiled and took my hand, so natural and intimate. “Hazel asked me to invite Cecily herself. She said that anyone who can make Ansir suffer is her friend.”
At this moment, there was a round of applause. A young girl dressed in a tight black dress, which appeared very different from the fresh environment emerged. “Ansir, that fellow has finally suffered. You’re Cecily, right? What a cute little girl. The cake I made today does not live up to your standard.”
Looking at her snow-white face, I guessed that she was Hazel.
“Thank you.” In the face of their kindness and enthusiasm, I became a little shy and lowered my head, not knowing what to do.
Hazel walked toward me with a beautiful red velvet cake and led me to a nearby table. She sat down and placed the cake in front of me like she was presenting a treasure. “Try it. This is my specialty.”
The surrounding waiters were so shocked that their jaws dropped. They looked at me with shock and jealousy.
Elvin sat down next to me, the smile on his lips a little resigned and wistful. “I don’t even get this kind of treatment. And to think I’m a VIP in your shop.”
“The dessert I made myself. Only for cute girls.” Hazel winked at me.
I didn’t stand on ceremony. I scooped a spoonful of cake into my mouth.
The silky smooth texture and the fresh fragrance of the flowers hidden in the cake’s embryo was so tasty it made me squint my eyes on the first bite.
Hazel poked my puffed cheeks with her finger. “Cecily, you eat like a hamster. You’re so cute.”
Elvin slapped her hand away. “You can watch it. Don’t touch it.”
Hazel looked back at Elvin and snorted. “Why are you so nervous? Do you like Cecily?”
The words choked me, and Elvin choked back a cough.
I quickly waved my hand. “There’s no such thing. Prince Elvin is just a good person.”
Hazel glanced at Elvin. “That’s not your style.”
Elvin wiped his nose and turned his head to the side. “Just being nice.”
