Chapter 232 – What Zhang Xiying said doubtlessly hit her where it hurt the most! (1)
Once they had decided on their traveling itinerary, it started raining for days on ends. Immediately after that, the temperature began to drop by the day. From as high as in the 20s all the way to the low of 13 ~ 15 degree Celsius, with a high of 18 ~ 19 degree Celsius.
As indicated by the weather report, the weather was starting to turn cold, and even the southern part of the country was starting to go into winter time.
Whenever they left the house, Lin Yiyi was already putting a sweater on Meng Shanshan.
Meng Shanshan was the typical well protected little girl, the princess of the Lin’s. She loved dolling up and looking like a princess. Her closet was filled with pink and almond colored princess dresses. It had just turned winter and her winter floral dresses were dazzling.
Some of them were mailed by Ms. Lin Ping from the US, some were from sponsors of Lin Yiyi’s company, and others were bought by Lin Yiyi when she was shopping for herself.
Now that Xinri Media was going up and up, they were working with many larger brands. Some of the larger brands would send over invitations with each new season or just bring the newest designs to the office.
Lin Yiyi hadn’t expected that she would be saving money this way when she started her film company!
Naturally, money wasn’t the issue here. It wasn’t like she couldn’t afford those herself. That being said, children’s clothing nowadays were very well made!
“Boss, these are the newest designs from Burberry.”
The little assistant knew better. Winking at Lin Yiyi, she said, “I’ll save you a few of the logo tees.”
With two little kids at home, it was only normal to bring home a few sets from time to time.
Lin Yiyi took the brochures for the clothing and said, “Keep an eye out for an evening gown for me. Isn’t Yuan Yao’s banquet coming up soon? I haven’t decided on whether I will be going yet but just in case.”
The little assistant nodded. “Okay.”
Yuan Yao Media had already sent over their invitation to Xinri for their annual charity ball.
Not just their company, all of the other sizable film companies were also invited, including Shengshi Entertainment, along with some directors and stars. Nobody knew how many would actually attend but so far it was looking very grand.
“It looks like Yuan Yao made some good money this year.” Lu Xun concluded.
Boss Lu of Shengshi Entertainment came to show his presence again. The little assistant quickly cleaned up and left, bringing all of her stuff with her. She even attentively closed the door behind her on her way out.
Lin Yiyi shrugged.
Her impression of Yuan Yao still remained at that one awful dinner. All in all, that was no pleasant experience!
As soon as the assistant had left, Lu Xun sat himself down at the desk across from Lin Yiyi and leaned half of his body over.
There was unconcealable curiosity on his face. “Are you going?”
Lin Yiyi rarely attended banquets or balls.
Tao Jiahui was the one who mainly took care of those.
With a strong player like that, Lin Yiyi didn’t need to be hands on for many things. Even if she was to get her hands wet, she also didn’t measure up to a real career woman.
Besides, with a background such as Xinri Media, nobody would want to give Director Tao Jiahui a hard time anyway.
And Lin Yiyi was never a fan of that kind of scene.
She was better off spending more time with her two children at home even though Meng Yuran was a rebellious teenager and didn’t really need that much attention from her.
Leaning into her chair, she thought about it and said, “I’m quite curious how Yuan Yao made their money this year.”
