The Villainess’s Revenge - Chapter 320
Lady Melissa closed her eyes, imagining what would it be like if she had a perfect life, a happy life, a life that wasn’t driven by revenge, a life where her parents cared and loved her, a life where she was able to be married to Duke Gasston.
Lady Melissa imagined herself in a wedding dress, her veil, and how good-looking Duke Gaston looked during the wedding, as she continued imagining the first night between her and Duke Gaston.
Lady Melissa wondered if she was desperate, maybe she was tired, tired of everything that was happening, but she wasn’t going to give up, she had already vowed to herself, no matter how tired this would get, no matter how many sacrifices she’d have to make, she’d do this.
Lady Melissa would do this because she genuinely cared about herself- she respected herself and even though she was a part of her was doing this revenge because of the loved ones that had been killed by him, a big part of it was because of her.
Lady Melissa didn’t care if she was called an ‘attention whore’ because she was one, she loved the attention, some might even say she’d die without it, she loved nothing more than the attention she’d receive, be it from men, women or even children.
Lady Melissa wasn’t going to give up on her plan about the Crown Prince so easily, even if it meant that she’d never be able to be with Duke Gaston, even if she’d have to give him up, she was ready to do so.
On one hand, she felt as if this revenge had taken the entirety of her life, her only objective in life was simply to take her revenge, but another side of her knew that this was right, although even though her only current objective was to take her revenge.
She could always make more goals in the future once she was done with taking her revenge on the Crown Prince, she had a good seventy or eighty years before she’d die, and maybe a good ten years if she wanted to die early.
Lady Melissa looked out the window, as she suddenly heard an ear-piercing shriek, before her eyes suddenly closed, as she fell into a deep slumber.
After what felt like hours to Lady Melissa, she was awoken as cold water was thrown all over her body, as she stared at her surroundings wondering where she was, noticing that she wasn’t in the warehouse-like she had originally been when she was first kidnapped.
Lady Melissa suddenly felt a rough hand grabbing her, as it forced her to look in front, noticing that the one who was holding her face was a man, his hands were rough as Lady Melissa concluded that it was probably because he was a swordsman.
“You’re a knight aren’t you?”
Lady Melissa asked, a sly smirk on her face as for a split second the man panicked, she could see it in his eyes, in that split second- the man was genuinely surprised, he had a mask covering his face so she wouldn’t be able to see him, yet she had managed to figure out his identity so easily?
Lady Melissa looked, at right in front of her, was none other than Lady Camilia, it felt like at this point Lady Camilia was like a mosquito, the both of them shared numerous things in common, the main one being that they couldn’t leave Lady Melissa alone no matter how hard she tried to make them leave her.
Another thing they shared in common was how it was difficult to kill them – at least for Lady Melissa it was difficult to kill them, mosquitoes were quick on their feet and so was Lady Camilia, the both of them could smell the scent of death from a mile away.
Lady Melissa couldn’t believe her luck, she had just been freed from the madness she had to go through and the next thing she got kidnapped? The shriek she had heard was from her tree, and a man had transported into her room to knock her out.
Although it wasn’t the best trick, it was good enough for them to knock Lady Melissa out, just when she thought she could finally have some peace and quiet for once in her life, she just had to get kidnapped, AGAIN?
At this rate she’d end up getting a nickname by society if she kept getting kidnapped, a little impressed that the men were able to sneak inside, the security had tightened A LOT ever since she had first gotten kidnapped.
After that, she was grounded for a month, and the tightened security was somehow tightened, even more, it was practically impossible for even anyone from the outside to get in, as it would drain a lot of their energy.
The Duke had paid for a sorceress to protect the Shayla estate by casting a spell, a sort of bubble that was invisible to the naked eye, all the employees and Lady Melissa and her parents had been allowed to enter the Shayla estate and exit, hence it wouldn’t drain any of their energy.
However, any unauthorized access, which meant anyone other than the employees of the Shayla estate, Lady Melissa, and her parents would have a lot of their energy drained if they entered the Shayla estate.
The sorceress had invented a potion so that it wouldn’t be a hassle for when guests came in, since the Duke, Duchess or even Lady Melissa wanted any of the guests to feel like their energy was being sucked and drained.
Perhaps that was the reason why Duke Alphonso had kept bleeding when he was in the Shayla estate’s house because Lady Melissa hadn’t given him a potion for him to drink, hence his energy was drained which was probably why he felt unwell or dizzy.
Being injured and then having your energy drained out of your body wasn’t the most pleasant experience at all, Duke Alphonso would know.
