The Villainess’s Revenge - Chapter 322
The letter ‘C’ was deeply carved into Lady Melissa’s body, but with enough money and potions she’d probably be able to remove the letter ‘C’ from her body forever, Lady Melissa knew why Lady Camilia had done such a thing.
It was so that everytime she went to the bathroom or did something to look at her body, she’d be reminded, reminded of the reason why she was even let go of- she’d be reminded of what she was supposed to do.
Judging from the current time, which was currently 1 PM Lady Melissa had exactly 1 PM till this Friday, at the latest before she’d be executed by Lady Camilia and die in the process, Lady Melissa wasn’t afraid at all.
Although she liked Duke Gaston and felt guilty if she were to kill him, it was her life against his, and no matter what happened, no matter what she was doing, she was always going to prioritize herself over others.
Unless of course, she knew that she was going to make it out alive, but with Lady Camilia, she wasn’t sure of anything, the woman was exactly like Lady Melissa, the both of them were venomous and hard to read.
The woman was unexpected, and Lady Melissa didn’t know what she could be plotting after this, but what she knew to do was to kill Duke Gaston, that is if she wanted to live, and take her revenge on the Crown Prince.
Lady Melissa wasn’t going to give up her life so easily for a man, not when she had been betrayed countless of times for a man, especially when she was this close to getting her revenge on the Crown Prince.
At the end of the day, Lady Melissa was a selfish woman, a woman who would consistently prioritize herself over everyone else- over her friends, and her family members, at least that was what she continued believing in.
She didn’t hate herself for being selfish though, she took pride in it, when others were compassionate and empathetic she was selfish, she didn’t care, the only thing that she cared about was herself, and only herself.
Lady Melissa was going to be consistently on guard from now on, when Lady Camilia was watching her it was just every now and then, but now, now was a completely different story.
Now, Lady Camilia and her guards would consistently watch her, watch every move she made, every little thing, and if she even made the slightest mistake of forgetting to keep her guard up, she was going to lose.
Lady Melissa hated losing, she was a very competitive woman, and she certainly wasn’t going to lose this game she had with Lady Camilia, especially knowing that the punishment she’d get from losing was a one-way trip to hell.
Lady Melissa didn’t even believe she’d go to heaven, not with everything she had done, not with all the blood that was on her hands, not when she made so many plans and attempts to kill the Crown Prince.
Though Lady Melissa wasn’t much of a religious person herself, that is if hell was even real, she respected people’s religions yet she had not many beliefs of her own, though she felt as if she was practically inclined to believe that there was a god.
After all, what other explanation would there even be for her reincarnation? She didn’t know who else would be so generous to give her a second chance at life, or whoever was bored enough to let her give a second chance in life.
Whether her reincarnation and her chance to make everything right was an accident or on purpose, she was going to make sure to use this chance as much as possible, she was going to use it to her advantage.
Lady Melissa was going to need to plan a visit to see Duke Gaston personally since she couldn’t just ask anyone to kill the man- she knew that it had to be specifically here, otherwise why would Lady Camilia even kidnap her?
If someone had killed Duke Gaston under her orders, or before her during the span of three days, she was going to meet a tragic death, she could try to run and hide from Lady Camilia but it’d be to no avail.
It was Lady Camilia against Lady Melissa, and even though Lady Melissa was a formidable opponent, having the Shayla estate’s power by her side- Lady Camilia had the support of the Crown Prince.
The Crown Prince Henry, the one who was going to become the next successor- the one who was going to lead them in the future, in addition to that, Lady Camilia had many other nobles’ support.
Of course, Lady Melissa had Duke Gaston, but that was all she said, frankly speaking, she knew that if she ever tried to run Lady Camilia would easily find her location in under 24 hours give or take.
It was that difficult to hide from the woman, and that showed how much power Lady Camilia had the touch of her fingertips- which was why Lady Melissa had to play her cards right this time, she didn’t have another second chance.
She could write to Duke Gaston to meet up with her to discuss his plans to court her, since he should’ve already been the one personally giving her the gifts from earlier, yet he wasn’t there.
It was an extremely rare sight for the man to be courting the woman not to appear at her doorstep or at her estate, hence there was no doubt that the other nobles must’ve already found it suspicious.
Lady Melissa assumed that Duke Gaston had probably been too busy to personally send her the gifts, hence why he couldn’t appear at her doorstep as early as 5 AM in the morning, which was understandable.
Lady Melissa wouldn’t wake up at 5 AM in the morning for anyone- she’d much rather get a few more hours of sleep.
