The Villainess’s Revenge - Chapter 324
In a way, Lady Melissa felt like she was the citizen, at least she did feel like that in her past life, unheard of, always ignored, and it was never about her- it would constantly be about someone else again and again.
Was she being overdramatic? She wasn’t, at least not in her eyes- she had gone through hell and back multiple times in her previous self so she at the very least had the right to be narcissistic and to act like everything was about her, even when half of the time it wasn’t.
Lady Melissa let out a yawn, as she realized that she should probably get some sleep, knowing that for a fact, the next 70 hours she had would be the busiest and most stressful 70 hours of her entire life.
Lady Melissa woke up, which totally wasn’t the result of her overthinking brain, wondering what’d happen if she messed up, although she had complete faith in herself, she couldn’t just help but overthink at all, it was simply just in her nature.
Lady Melissa was an overthinker at heart, a habit that even after everything had happened still hadn’t gone away, she couldn’t help but overthink- though this wasn’t always a bad thing, as a result, she’d have plans or such in case anything would go wrong.
Lady Melissa would think of backup plans, plans just in case the worst-case scenario would actually happen- that the worst-case scenario would actually become a reality – a reality that she’d never want to face.
Lady Melissa had thought of hundreds of different outcomes, how this could end up well, and if the situation turned out horrible, the problem was that she didn’t have a solution- for once in her life, Lady Melissa didn’t have a solution.
She felt weak, helpless, she didn’t have a plan in case things would go horrible, she didn’t even know what she’d do if she failed to kill Duke Gaston, what if he had stopped her from killing him? He wasn’t supposed to even be aware she was going to kill him.
Even though Lady Camilia hadn’t specifically implied or even mentioned it, Lady Melissa knew the moment that Duke Gaston found out that Lady Melissa was after his life- she was going to die by the woman’s hands.
Lady Melissa knew that Lady Camilia didn’t want to be found out-to be found out that she was the one who did all of this, that she was the one behind the plan, hence why she had kidnapped Lady Melissa to do it for her.
If Duke Gaston found out about who had attempted to assassinate him, which in this case was Lady Melissa, she’d be killed before she could even say who had really sent her to kill him all along.
Lady Melissa needed to think of a plan, as she kept checking the clock every minute that passed, wary of how much time she had left and she currently had 65 hours remaining to kill Duke Gaston.
She didn’t have all the time in the world to even be thinking of a plan, she needed to just have a plan ready NOW, as she regretted all the free time she had not using it to plan a person’s assassination, like she had all the time in the world to do that, but she couldn’t think when she felt the pressure.
Lady Melissa loved pressure- that was, if it was normal pressure, however this pressure? This pressure was completely different from the ‘normal’ pressure she would deal with on a daily basis.
The ‘normal’ pressure she would deal with everyday wasn’t going to make her die because of it- sure she’d be overworked and stressed out a bit, but she wouldn’t die because of that sort of pressure- at least not immediately.
This pressure though, made her feel like if she had even thought of something wrong- something that would have holes- something that wouldn’t add up, she’d die, which was indeed correct, she’d die.
The pressure she felt before during balls, gatherings, social events, parent’s expectations, everyone’s expectations of her, were all different- different from what she was even feeling right now.
The difference between the two types of pressure she had dealt with before was extremely different from each other, so much so that she genuinely wondered how she was going to even deal with this pressure.
She couldn’t take a break, she couldn’t just go to the capital and spend some money shopping as a way to relieve stress for herself, she couldn’t ask someone to kill Duke Gaston for her, and she couldn’t make a plan.
Lady Melissa wasn’t going to let that stop her though- she was going to think of a plan, even if it was going to cost her a lot of money, her life was much more than a few thousand gold coins, right? Well, Lady Melissa certainly hoped so.
Lady Melissa immediately told Nathan as well as the other guards to get some materials and resources for her to use, to assassinate Duke Gaston, or at least attempt to assassinate Duke Gaston.
Although Lady Melissa knew that the guards were probably wondering why she needed so many guns, ropes, knives, swords, etc, she didn’t exactly have the time to explain it to them, she was heading to the capital next.
Lady Melissa was going to purchase some potions, of course, she’d be bringing along Justin with her, just in case anything could happen, since she was sure that the guards that Lady Camilia had sent to watch her were more alert and aware of whatever she could be planning, and they could see it as if she was planning to murder Lady Camilia instead of Duke Gaston.
Lady Melissa quickly made her way to the Shayla estate’s personal carriage, as they immediately took off, Lady Melissa’s stomach immediately growling, she had forgotten to eat, the moment she had woke up she immediately thought of trying to figure out a plan- after that, she told the guards to gather materials for her, and then she was now heading to the capital with Justin by her side.
