The Villainess’s Revenge - Chapter 325
Lady Melissa had once again completely disregarded her need for food and water, but she decided that she’d just get some food and water later in the capital, even if it meant that she’d have to buy them from peasants, she could at least get some food.
It was better to eat food, even if she didn’t particularly like it or it just wasn’t what she would usually eat, then not eating any sort of food at all, since that could cause her to get really hungry, and right now wasn’t the best time for her to get really hungry.
Lady Melissa and Justin both sat in the comfortable silence that they shared with each other, as Lady Melissa wondered if Justin and Sophia were going to marry each other this year, or maybe in a span of a few months, but she quickly brushed the thoughts away, knowing that now wasn’t the best time for her to think of this.
She could ask Justin and Sophia whether they were planning to get married in the next few months, or somewhere within this year, but not now, not when she only had 60 hours remaining before she’d die.
Lady Melissa always knew that time was valuable, yet she had just never realized how quickly time would flow by it had already been four and a half months ever since she was reincarnated here, not realizing how quickly time was flowing, it only felt like it was just yesterday the Crown Prince had mocked her in front of everyone, at a royal family party.
Lady Melissa grew more and more anxious with the amount of time it was taking to reach the capital, she didn’t have the entire day for God’s sake, and she couldn’t just ask someone to buy the potions or ingredients needed for the potion she was going to make, since none of her guards were well-versed in the potion-making/potions area.
It would take extremely long if Lady Melissa were to ask Derreck to find a person to get her the potions she required, plus, Derreck would certainly raise a few questions, even if he wouldn’t explicitly ask those questions in front of Lady Melissa’s face.
Derreck would get the best potion-making expert he could, and that was the problem, to find the best potion-making expert it would take a lot of time, as well as a lot of money, and Lady Melissa, didn’t have either of those with how much she was going to be spending with her assassination of Duke Gaston.
She didn’t have any more current money to spend, she could always use her dowry but that would be extremely stupid of her to even do or think of doing such a thing, it was her dowry for Chris’s sake.
Lady Melissa would prefer to still have her dowry, in case she was alive, in addition to that Lady Melissa thought that it’d be better if she went to the Capital herself, plus she needed a breath of fresh air with all the stress and pressure she was dealing with.
Lady Melissa figured that this would be the perfect time for her to get a breath of fresh air since when else was she even going to get such a thing? With the amount of pressure and stress, she was dealing with.
Even though she had originally even disagreed with the idea of anything that would make her waste her time and have less time to think of a plan and to assassinate Duke Gaston, she decided that the pros had outweighed the cons, and she might as well just do this.
Lady Melissa quickly got out of the carriage, as she was protected by Justin in case anything dangerous were to happen to her, and she practically stood out in broad daylight- which was why the moment they made a turn Lady Melissa quickly gave the both of them hoods to wear on, thinking at the very least this way no one would know about their identities.
In just a few minutes, Lady Melissa was already heading her way to find a potion shop, since she didn’t have a specific one that she would go to, and since going to the capital was sort of a last-minute plan, she didn’t know which brand or shop was amazing at making potions.
Lady Melissa walked along the streets of the capital, accompanied by Justin as she searched for anything potion-related in the signs or even anything that the stores sold which looked even relatively close to a potion or smelled like one.
However, Lady Melissa had been rudely pushed into by someone, as Justin had seen that the man was going to bump into Lady Melissa, yet the man was fast enough to dodge his attacks and to make Lady Melissa fall.
“She’s watching you.”
The man said, as he leaned down into Lady Melissa who was sitting on the floor, her hood covered as she slowly let a deep breath, her heartbeat erratic as she tried to slow it down, her theory was right, after all, Lady Camilia was watching her.
Justin wanted to interfere and help his mistress the moment she had fallen to the ground, but he saw the gesture that she had given him, a sign with three of her fingers up, and her first and index finger were together spelling out the word ‘ok’.
Justin knew not to interfere, as much as he had wanted to, he knew he’d get into big trouble if he decided to disregard her orders, and he knew not to ask her about anything, it’d be best if he wanted to reach home in one piece tonight.
Lady Melissa stood up herself, as she didn’t even send Justin a glance, she didn’t look back at him, instead, she had continued walking in the streets, pretending that such an incident had never even occurred in the first place.
The busy bustling streets of the capital had prevented anyone from paying much attention to Lady Melissa, it was as if there was a crowd and she wasn’t a part of it, a crowd that didn’t pay attention to her.
