The Villainous Emperor Is My Pet? - Volume 1 Chapter 14
“So, he was being nice to you.” Harvey gives me a hard look. “But you kept provoking him?”
I place my elbow on the edge of the table. “I was just surprised. He was supposed to be a cruel emperor.”
“Yeah, but he sucked the poison out using his mouth.” Harvey chuckles when I make a face at him. “That was thoughtful of him.”
“It wasn’t thoughtful.” I pick up the fork and stab the molten chocolate dessert. Two minus one is one. But that emperor tricked me.
Not only that there was an antidote to that poison, but the method of sucking out the poison was crude. The antidote was also quite common. All the soldiers carried it in their pouches.
The person who told me about the antidote was none other than Aloisia.
“He killed you twice and treated you nicely the third time.” Harvey smiles at me. “Do you truly not think of him now?”
“He was a fictional character,” I tell him coldly. “Why would I think about him? My life is here.”
“I know, but still…” Harvey trails off, looking at the blurred glass window. Drops of rain roll down on the glass window. It’s been six months since I woke up after two years of coma. It feels like a dream.
The world has changed. The company I worked for had gone bankrupt during the pandemic. When I woke up, my family couldn’t visit me for days because of the lockdown.
To make it worse, I got infected during physical therapy and then, I had to be quarantined for days until it became worse and I nearly died again. I survived Covid19. It hasn’t been a hell of a ride so far.
The world isn’t normal anymore. I am wearing gloves, sitting opposite Harvey Cunningham, the guy who threw me in the novel, on a long mahogany table at his villa.
He had visited me in the hospital every week since my body fell into the coma and my soul was sucked to the web novel, even during the lockdown. He would leave flowers outside my room when I was in quarantine.
Well, I was being treated at a hospital that he owned. So, I guess the rules were bent for him. My family also knew him. Ironically, he told them that he and I were close friends.
Though I wanted to beat him up, I couldn’t do it because I couldn’t move the body at first. When I could move my body, I ended up in quarantine.
By that time, my anger was gone. I found out that he paid for hospital fees and he was a bloody millionaire.
Having a millionaire friend who felt remorseful for sending me into a horrible book is always good.
“Aren’t you going to continue the story?” He asks me with interest. “You are charging me a hundred dollar an hour for this story.”
“I know that it’s cheap.” I let out a sigh. “I gave you a discount because we are close friends.”
Harvey rolls his eyes, taking a sip of his whiskey.
The web novel ‘Evil King’s Consort is an Airhead?’ is gone from the site as if it was never there.
Other than two of us, everyone else has forgotten the existence of that book. Since most changes happened in the backstage of the book, he doesn’t know much other than the ending.
He wants me to tell him what happened and how I managed to give a happy ending to all the main characters. Unlike me who was in a coma for two years, he returned to the day he went into the book after he chose me as the next transmigrator.
“Time is money, Savina.” He puts down the glass on the table and eyes me solemnly. “Tell me what happened next.”
“Ahem.” I clear my throat. “What happened next was…”
