The Villain’s Light - Chapter 141
Everyone was thinking that since the space itself was locked, Reif wouldn’t be able to make spatial portals and escape from this place
If thag happens, more and more guards and guardians of the Imperial Palace wouls be notified and arrive to fight him
No matter how powerful Reif was, if all the forces in the Imperial Palace was mobilized, he still wouldn’t be able to escape and he would die here, right?
However, even the space is locked and Reif can’t use spatial magic then there is still a simple and crude thing he could do to escape
Reif simply has to destroy the fabric of space itself which wasn’t necessarily hard for him
After all, he even managed to destroy the fabric of reality and make it so that the future events were completely erased and he in simpler terms, went back in time
If the fabric of reality can be shattered, what more if Reif only wants to destroy space?
With that in mind, Reif coated his fist with crimson streaks of energies that were so condenses their presence alone already makes the space tremble as if they feared such energy
With casual yet powerful movement, Reif punched an empty space and soon, cracks immediately appeares
The space that was solidified by the spatial mages shattered into smaller pieces causing a spatial storm
Those that are not strong enough were swallowd by the storm and their bodies were instantly ripped to shreds
Their blood was spilled everywhere and miserable screams rang around
Even the Imperial Palace wasn’t left unscathed and parts of it got demolished even though the materials it was made from was not something that normal people can shatter even if they were given a heavy hammer
“T-that’s!
“T-too powerful!”
“He shattered the space that easy? The space was reinforced by the spatial mages and are sturdier than normal!”
“Crazy! That demon is crazily powerful!”
The guards’ morale instantly drops by a huge margin after witnessing Reif’s raw power
If it wad them in Reif’s situation, they would not be able to do whatever he does with the same ease
Maybe, if they sacrifice a lot, including their life, they can shatter the space that was reinforced by multiple spatial mages but it was different
While Reif only has to make a single move and punch the space, they on the other hand has to sacrifice their lives
Isn’t the disparity in strength too high? Aren’t they suppose to be the strongest in the world to be able to work in the Palace? If that is the case then how come such a demon exists? This doesn’t make any sense!
“Don’t falter! The demon is alone and we have advantage with numbers. Let us stall for more time until reinforcements arrive!” The old magician shouted so that the dropping morale would stop from dropping even further
In a battle, morale is extremely important. They cannot lose their cool here ir they might as well serve their heads to Reif in a silver platter
To help increase the morale, the old magician even made the next move
He created several magic circles around Reif and each of the circles releases a thick metal chain
The chains moved as fast as they could as they tried to wrap themselves into Reif’s power and prevent him from moving for some time
That would give the other guards some time to attack Reif to either injure or kill him
However, before the chains could even harm Reif, he already stretched out his hand that releases a strong gravitational pull
The chains’ path was altered and they all went to Reif’s palm that crushes them into smaller pieces
The morale that should have increase and return back to normal drop even further
The old magician is one of the strongest people in the Palace. If even he could not do anything against Reif, what more for them?
“Stop hindering me!” Reif roared as he angrily slammed his foot into the ground and a strong earthquake immediately occurred
Reif don’t have time to spend with these ants as he has to help his big brother as soon as possible
They were too annoying and people as annoying as them should die!
Soon, numerous crimson pillars rose from the ground and miserable cries rang around
“AAAAHHH!”
“NOOOOO!”
“AAAAHHHHRRGGGG!”
The crimson pillars impaled the guards around Reif, killing tons of them in a single move
More and more corpses has piled up and Reif immediately moved
He flew in the air and his destination was the Main Palace, specifically the Throne Room which was the most likely place where the Emperor is currently in
Reif destroyed every single one that dares to cross his path. He didn’t care who they are or what part of the Palace he woule destroy
The only thing in his mind was to reach the Throne Room and meet the Emperor
Fortunately, although it was quite hard even for Reif, he still managed to succeed as he entered the Throne Room before killing the guards outside of it
When Reif entered, he can see a fee dozens of guards guarding the throne
They block the Emperor from Reif’s vision but he just opened his mouth
When Reif does that, a thick ray of crimson light came out from his mouth and before the guards could even let out cry of pains, they were already turned into dust
Reif has used up a really large chunk of his power. After all, the guards and defensive mechanism of the Imperial Palace is no joke
No matter what, Reif is still a single person and he also has his own limits. He is not an omnipotent person. That’s the reason why although he can definitely kill Reif if they were to have a one on one battle, he still can’t
Nath has too many people under him and in the future, he would have every power in this world. When that time comes, even Reif is not safe
He can’t possibly win against the whole world working together
Just like what they say, there is strength in numbers and numbers are the reasons for Reif’s demise from his previous lives
He was fighting against the whole world alone and he cannot emerge as a victor from that
As such, Reif has to take power in his hands even if he has to be forceful. By hook or by crook, Reif has to have the Emperor be under his command
When the guards died, Reif can finally see the Emperor
There are two types of Emperor that he thought he would meet. The first type is the Emperor with Domineering might. The one that screams authority and power. The mighty Emperor
The second type is a good for nothing Emperor. One that only knows how to abuse the power given to him because of his birth. An Emperor that is most likely fat and always fooled around woman. The idiotic Emperor
However, the Emperor that Reif met was neither of the two most possible types
The one he met was an Emperor he never thought would be possible
The man in the Throne certainly has a strong vibes around him. Even Reif has to be a bit serious when fighting someone like this
Not to mention, with his current exhausted state, the battle would be harder since the guards would surely not let him defeat the Emperoe without doing anything
However, the Emperor on the Throne has such a lifeless and empty eyes. At first, it feels like indifference but at a deeper look, it was much deeper than mere indifference
Reif cannot describe it with words but it’s like the Emperor don’t care about anything or more like he was tired of caring about anything
Reif thought that maybe that this Emperor is the puppet type but that also doesn’t seem the case
How could such a strong man be a mere puppet of the Nobles?
No, only it feels like the Emperor is tired of living but he cannot die. It’s like he lived far too long that he doesn’t even know how long he was living
That’s the impression that the Emperor gives to Reif and he was taken aback by it. Just what exactly happened to the Emperor for him to he reduce in this state?
“What do you want from me?” The Emperor questioned, sounding really bored as if Reif barging in here has nothing to do with him
As an Emperor, he should be enraged by the person that intruded in his territory and killed a lot of his subjects while destroying the Imperial Palace
However, not even a hint of anger can be sense from him. He was far too indifferent as if whatever Reif does has nothing to do with him
This kind of reaction is not something that Reif expected and he was far too taken aback to the point that his words kind of got stuck in his throat when he has to say something immediately
