The Villain’s Light - Chapter 45
“W-what did he do? Did he hurt you?!” The doctor asked worriedly while checking her daughter’s body for the sign of any harm
He can still remember how terrifying the aura that Reif let out a year ago was. The doctor’s intuition told him that if the Bloody Angel didn’t stop the Crimson Magician, a blood bath would happen
It might not only be the doctor that would get killed nor the people inside his clinic. Even the other innocent bystander outside would also be caught in the crossfire
With his years of experience, the doctors know when he should act subserviently and when he could afford to act however he pleases
At first, Reif only looks like a naive little kid that knows nothing in this world and was harmless. But when he let out his aura, the doctor knew that he cannot mess with him
Unfortunately, it was already too late for him to realize that as his emotions and pride clouded his judgment
Well, Reif looks like a poor kid with nothing worthy that he has. Who would have thought that he was hiding such a fearsome power inside him
“F-father, I’m fine. He didn’t see me” Anna replied to reassure her father and the doctor let out a sigh of relief
The two have been living in fear for quite some time already. It wasn’t surprising how the doctor reacted since anyone in their shoes would have acted in the same way
“But father h-he… I-I witnessed him killing someone inside the city” Anna confessed and the doctor shuddered
This is what he meant that although killing is prohibited inside the city, it was not necessarily something that people cannot do
There are more than 1 ways to kill people inside the city without getting caught
“T-this… don’t tell what you saw to anyone! We cannot afford to incur more of their wrath. It was better to stay low key and silent!” the doctor said seriously
After all, it was their lives that is at stake here. If he can, he would rather diminish his and his daughter’s presence so that those two won’t pay them much attention
If it was known that his daughter reported such a thing, who knows how they would end up?
Even if Anna were to report what she had witnessed, how can she prove it? How can she prove it almost instantly?
After all, without proof, Reif wouldn’t be imprisoned immediately especially if Anna were to blindly report what she had witnessed
Not to mention, there is still the Bloody Angel. He might get his revenge for getting his father imprisoned even if Anna succeeded
However, it seems like the doctor’s daughter has another plan instead of just reporting the incident
“Father, the person he killed is a B rank adventurer. He did it easily and silently without causing even the slightest bit of commotion” Anna continued and the doctor shuddered
It was one thing to kill a person inside the city and another for that person to be a B rank adventurer
Killing a B rank adventurer and easily at that means that Reif’s power is at least the peak of the B rank or he might have reached the A rank even!
An A rank adventurer is on a different level compared to a B rank. At that level, they can already hold their heads high in the Mesha City
Even the City Lord wouldn’t want to antagonize an A-rank adventurer as much as possible. In fact, he might even try to actively recruit them
If an A rank adventurer were to kill the doctor and his daughter which were insignificant people, the officials and the City Lord himself would turn a blind eye to curry favor of them
Reif killing a B rank adventurer easily changes the whole picture and the doctor was forced to sit on the medical bed for support
What has he done? Why did he antagonize such strong people?
If the doctor knew that this would happen, he would enthusiastically treat Rhash with everything that he has
That is an A-rank adventurer! Just being a friend of one is already enough to elevate one’s status by a huge margin while antagonizing one is akin to a death wish
The doctor almost had a heart attack after realizing the biggest mistake of his life
“Father!” Anna called out worriedly. Her father was visibly shaken by what he had learned and Anna decided to speak the plan his mind has
“Father, there is almost a 100% chance that the City Lord would turn a blind eye even if I were to report the murder but we don’t need to do that, there is another way to save our lives!” Anna said and the doctor looked at her with a questioning look
“We don’t need to fight with them directly or report the incident. Father, the thing we need to do is to drive them out of the city!”
“Drive out? How can we even do that?”
The doctor thought that his daughter has such a brilliant plan yet he was disappointed
“How is it easy to drive them out of the city?” The doctor asked while shaking his head
“Father, no matter what, murder is still murder. We only need to spread how the Crimson Magician killed people and exaggerate it! Even the City Lord can’t possibly continue letting a known murderer live in the city. As long as we make exaggerated rumors, who cares if it was not true? People still love to gossip and they would believe the rumors even without enough proof! ” Anna explained and the doctor’s eyes lit up
If it was like this then it was very plausible. Although those two are strong, they don’t have enough connections since they mostly spend their time on missions
They will just enter the city to rest and accept a mission. After that, they would go out to complete the mission before coming back to report, rest, and accept another mission as the cycle repeated
“Then we will spread the rumors when they are away on their mission” the doctor said
If the two are not present when the rumors spread then it would be too late already even if they want to prevent it from spreading
With that in mind, the pair of father ad daughter have some room for a breather
——
“Alright, I read a lot already. It’s time to put it in action” Rhash said to himself after closing an erotic book in his hand
He was treating this issue as if it was a mission. Since Reif wants him then Rhash would give himself to him
He has already thrown his morals back from earth. This is a new world with different values. It was not inappropriate even if Rhash were to have sex with Reif
And even if it was inappropriate who cares? Rhash only cares about Reif’s opinion. Nothing else matters!
With that in mind, Rhash stored the book he had brought inside his spatial ring as he headed back to the inn
He doesn’t know where Reif is. If that man isn’t in the inn then Rhash don’t have a choice but to wait for him
When Rhash stood up from his seat, he realizes that it was already nighttime. His plan to relax with Reif and enjoy what the city can offer failed
With a sigh, Rhash continued in his way. He felt like there is something that he forgot but he just threw it at the back of his head since the closer he was to the inn, the more nervous he becomes
Although Rhash already readied himself mentally, he still didn’t expect that he would be this nervous and nerve-wracking
When Rhash arrived at the room’s door, he stood on it for sometime before pacing back and forth
He was set on doing it with Reif but he was very much nervous
“No, this won’t do. Why am I even panicking? It’s just sex and I would even do it with Reif. What is there to be nervous about?” Rhash talks to himself after slapping his own face a bit to gain some courage
After that, Rhash twisted the doorknob to enter the room and he walked inside. The first thing he saw was the absentminded looking Reif that was sitting on the bed
He has a blank look on his face that would sometimes flash with fear yet his cheeks would also redden from time to time
‘What is wrong with him?’ Rhash can’t help but ask inside his head before shaking his head
Now that he was here, Rhash need to put the theoretical knowledge into reality
“Reif” the older man called out and the person called Reif instantly flinches. He didn’t realize that the person that filled his mind is already standing near him
“B-big brother!” Reif replied in surprise before his eyes became teary in the second
It has been some time already since Rhash saw Reif crying since he always made sure that the kid would be in a good condition and he didn’t expect this
