The Villain’s Light - Chapter 87
With the help of gravity magic, the two have been flying in the air at rocket speed. Even if Nath decided to chase them without caring for his reputation, he would still not succeed
In terms of fleeing speed, Reif was just superior as he wasn’t affected by gravity. In fact, the gravity even help increase his movement and flying speed
In Reif’s arm was Rhash that was passively letting himself be carried. He knew that Reif is faster than him and he just let him be
At normal times Rhash’s arm should start regenerating already as he loses an entire limb earlier to destroy the barrier
However, his body was in an extremely weakened condition. He used up almost all of his mana earlier along with a great deal amount of vitality
He was currently at his lowest and even if his modified body wants to heal itself, it simply don’t have the capability
“That Nath, he’s really so hard to kill” Rhash thought while gritting his teeth. This is already the third time that they had clashed with that bastard but even then, they still weren’t able to kill him
In fact, unlike the first two times, it was them that were forced to flee for their lives
As long as Nath doesn’t die, Rhash and Reif wouldn’t be completely fine. That man after all is their biggest obstacle in this world
“How did he even know where we are?” Rhash questioned. Since his dreams mostly contain all about Reif’s suffering, the information he has was incomplete
He is not an omnipotent man that knows everything
While Rhash was in the middle of thinking, he noticed that Reif’s flying speed has significantly lessened and he turned his head to look at him
The shard of brilliance was still in Reif’s forehead but his face was extremely pale. His eyes were even on the brink of closing as if he would pass out any moment from now
“B-big brother, I-I’m sorry. II can’t take it any—” Reif forced out those words and he wasn’t even able to complete his sentence before he closes his eyes and lose consciousness
The two immediately starts plummeting down if Rhash didn’t use the limited power that he has to cushion their fall
“Argh …” Rhash groaned from the pain. He wasn’t much injured earlier aside from his arm and the loss of lifeforce but now, he receives some after falling from such great heights
Even then, Rhash ignored his own condition and he went to check on Reif
Reif should have been recovering at a great speed right now with the help of the shard of brilliance but Rhash discovered something
In Reif’s back, a gold-colored formation can be seen.
“G-God’s D-Divine Punishment…?” Rhash muttered in shock
He had seen this from his dreams before and it was one of the things that brought Reif a great suffering
God’s Divine Punishment is a divine magic that is really a punishment
From the outside, Reif doesn’t look like he was affected by the formation that much. He also looks unconscious but he wasn’t!
The formation was eating Reif from the inside while his spirit was completely awake. His body is unconscious but his mind wasn’t
Reif is surely experiencing a hellish experience right now. This formation was a punishment as not only would it lead to death, it would even bring great suffering to the inflicted
Rhash can’t believe that Reif would be inflicted with this. If it was other formations, Rhash would do everything he can to dispel it
However this formation… it can only be created with the help of the God of Light
If anyone were to try and dispel it, the formation would instantly kill the inflicted
It was a formation that no one in this world could remove. It’s similar to a curse that only the user can remove
If Rhash were to try and meddle with it, Reif would instantly die
Of course, it’s not like there are zero ways to remove this curse but all of it would depend on Reif
In fact, Reif only survives because of the special power inside him. His chaos power was aroused and it went to destroy that formation
The problem was that there is no guarantee that the same thing would happen in this timeline. Especially since Reif was already close to his peak when he received that curse
As of now, Reif is still only like half as strong as he was at his peak before he died. There is still a long way to go
If he doesn’t survive this … Rhash won’t know what to do with his life anymore
“N-No! Y-you will survive, Reif! You will!” Rhash said firmly despite breaking down inside him
Reif’s consciousness is awake but it is possible that he wouldn’t ever Rhash even if he were to shout next to his ears
The person afflicted with the curse after all is experiencing too much pain to the point that they might not notice any other thing
“Y-you are s-special! You are s-someone that will be a-at the top of this w-world! I k-know that you w-will survive!” Rhash continued but his actions were no different than hypnotizing himself
His words were more directed to himself than it was directed to Reif. If he doesn’t force himself to believe in Reif, he might fully break down than he already is
Even without Rhash noticing, he was already tearing up. It didn’t even take that long before tears flow down his moist eyes that holds a deep resentment for himself
If he was strong enough, Reif wouldn’t need to experience such a terrible curse. If only he was stronger and he destroyed the barrier faster, this might not happen
“You will survive!” Rhash said in between tears as he carried Reif’s body in one hand
Rhash dragged both his and Reif’s body away from the danger while tears didn’t cease to be released by his eyes
After great difficulty, Rhash arrived at the volcanic area where his slaves are located. It was a good thing that he made sure Khaknur and Agui wouldn’t be able to betray him
If not, they might have funny thoughts after seeing the state the two were in
“Oh my gosh! Masters!” Khaknur hurriedly rode on a flat sheet of darkness to reach his masters
In his eyes, these two have always been omnipotent. Their development was simply too fast and out of the norm
The two are already beyond the A rank adventurers but they are still pushed in this state. Just what could have gone wrong?
Khaknur arrived at his master’s side and seeing the spider, Rhash instantly loses consciousness
“Master!” Khaknur called out worriedly and he caught his master’s body before they fell to the ground
“W-what happened to them?” Agui asked fearfully. These two have defeated him not too long ago and now, they are back and seem to be on the brink of death. How could this not make Agui worried?
What if the perpetrator chases them here? How could the weaker Khaknur and Agui fight them?
“I-I don’t know. Who could possibly defeat them…” Khaknur’s eyes widened in realization
As far as he knows, there is only one existence that his masters feared. It was someone that they have to kill no matter what
“Nath …” Khaknur muttered and he immediately turned his human head to Agui
“Quick! We must hide! Is there someplace here we could use to hide?”
If it was really the church, without Reif and Rhash, these monsters wouldn’t be able to defeat them
They have to come into safety as soon as possible!
“T-there is a cave inside my volcano. It was covered with a hard wall but I could move it. With the nature of mana here, it would be hard for anyone to use detection magic” Agui replied
The cave was actually created by Agui himself in case that he has to hide. It was a safe place that most people wouldn’t be able to notice at all
“Hurry, we must go there!” Khaknur shouted and he immediately flew in his sheet of darkness along with his masters’ unconscious body
The two moved at a fast speed and Agui parted the magma inside his volcano, revealing a wall that is different from the others
The core of Agui detached itself from his body before creating a miniature one. He was not much bigger than the little spider Khaknur
Agui’s body was just really his core but h could use magic to create a lava body for himself
The lava monster put his palm into the wall and it immediately moved on its own. Since the magma around was controlled by Agui, they don’t pour out inside the cave
Khaknur didn’t waste any time and he immediately entered the cave along with his masters and Agui followed suit
They could only hope that their masters would wake up soon and help them into safety
