The Voyage In The Blizzard - Chapter 58
The little girl, laughing slightly, ran up to Longwei. Frightened, he stepped aside and holding his breath, he just watching her rapid movements. Snatching the cape from his hand, the girl put it on and then after examining her first clothes, she fixed her surprised gaze on Longwei.
Now, standing right in front of the entrance so that daylight fell on her small face, Longwei was able to get a good look at her features.
These were features very similar to his, but still they were more gentle and more refined than his.
Big black eyes that glittered, sparkled with a pure light of surprise and complete bewilderment, thick but thin lines of eyebrows that were very similar to Longwei’s eyebrows, such a long eyelashes which Longwei had never seen in his life before, snow-white skin, and hair which slightly resembled the curly waves of the seas.
In a fright, in great surprise, Longwei watched the little girl watching him. Studying him from head to toe, she suddenly approached him and stretched out her hand and said loudly, “You are my father.”
Standing silently, as if forgetting all the words in the world, Longwei simply nodded his head..
Standing on tiptoe, the girl with a serious face reached out her hand to his face. But stopping, she directed her gaze to the blizzard that raged without stopping.
Carefully leaving the stone structure and inhaling the first frosty air, the girl frowned slightly, but without stopping at this, she took a few more steps forward towards the trees.
Leaving behind her small steps in the snow, she seemed not at all worried about the frost and blizzard that at any second could carry her away.
Touching the bark of a tree with her small palm, she, with the thoughtfulness of a philosopher, began to study the branches and what was higher than them, namely the birds flying over her head.
And finally, noticing small snowflakes on her fur cape, she raised them to her lips and, feeling the cold, she jerked her head back a little. While the winter wind continued to play with her wavy hair.
Watching her, still looking at her in a profile, looking at her mind-filled eyes and slightly upturned nose, and lips twisted in surprise, Longwei continued to be in a slight shock and bewilderment. After all, this was the first time he saw a female. Indeed, in a world where only warriors have been born for several centuries, for the first time in the history of this damned world, a female has appeared. And Longwei, not knowing who it was, not knowing anything, yet in the depths of his soul knowing that he had created something special, and knowing that he must protect his special child by all means, he felt a responsibility.
Finally, going outside, Longwei, finding the right words, said, “You, come to me.” Knowing that the child who was created in the Spherical Stone knows how to speak and knows everything about this world, Longwei decided to ask. “Do you know where you are and who you are?”
Without taking her eyes off him, the girl with the full seriousness replied, “Now we are near the Spherical Stone from where I appeared. We are not far from the First Clan. Which means that we are now on the Frosty Mountain Peaks. You are my father and your name is Longwei. And I am your daughter. ”
“Daughter?” asked Longwei stammeringly.
The girl, as if knowing that he was a little scared smiled and said, “Don’t be afraid, dad. I’m with you. Now, you have nothing to fear about. I will protect you.”
Adjusting the cape that was slightly larger for her, she lifted her head up and looked into Longwei’s eyes again. “I am a future warrior, and my goal is to protect those who are dear to me. So do not worry, father, I will do everything so that these beasts do not touch you.”
For the first time in his life he didn’t know what to say.
It was like all the wisdom of those countless books which he had read, left him completely. But gaining back his courage, he said, “You said that you are my daughter. But do you know that you are a little different from others?”
To which the girl replied, “You know father, that every person is different. No one should be like each other.”
Laughing at what he heard, Longwei realized that this was definitely his child. “And you are very smart. And where did you get such words and such thoughts?”
“I guess I look like you. I’m your daughter, which means that I have taken all your qualities.”
“That’s right. So it was not for nothing that I read so many books and fought the stupidity that is so common in these parts.” Longwei muttered to himself. Noticing that the girl was shivering from the cold and standing completely barefoot in the snow, Longwei took off his coat and said, “This world is very cold. You should always wear as many clothes as possible.” At that moment when he wanted to wrap her in his coat, he heard her enthusiastic voice.
“What is it?” screaming, the girl suddenly ran towards the forest.
“Stop!” Longwei rushed after her. “Wait! You!”
Jumping over branches and stones, the girl ran forward. As if in flight, her light and graceful movements seemed elusive and compared to her, Longwei looked awkward.
“You, stop!” Longwei shouted running after her. But the more he ran, the further the girl was.
Slipping on the stone, Longwei suddenly fell to the ground and the strong wind had a suffocating effect. Coughing, he covered his face with his hand. A strong blizzard covering everything around, created the image of a certain fog through which, now, it was simply impossible to see anyone.
Feeling a slight pain in his head after falling, Longwei got up and continued his run. “Hey! Come back!” he shouted but his voice was immediately carried away by the wind.
Several times it seemed to him as if his child was running in front of him, but these were just games of his imagination. Surrounded by white, surrounded by emptiness and cold, he stopped, closed his eyes and mentally asked his father.
“What should I do? Who have I created?”
Before he had time to think, he felt something on his shoulder. Thinking that it was a girl, he turned his head, but all he saw was a small white bird with a golden long tail. Seeing bird so close for the first time, Longwei holding his breath and trying not to move so as not to frighten it off, looked into the small eyes of the bird, and was amazed at such a fabulous beauty.
The bird, as if knowing what he was thinking, bent its head to the side, made a subtle sound, and flapping its snow-white wings slowly flew up. Floating above him, the bird seemed to want to show him the right path. Lightly touching him with long golden tail, which felt softer than snow, the bird flew forward.
“Do you want to show me the way?” Longwei rushing after the bird. For several minutes he could clearly see where the bird was flying. But then, hiding in a blizzard, the bird disappeared.
After running straight ahead, Longwei could finally make out the outlines of houses. Leaving the forest behind, he stopped at the edge of a small cliff. Making sure that she was nowhere around, he went down and ran towards the village.
Not immediately realizing that it was a Second Clan village, Longwei walked through the deserted courtyards. “Hey!” he screamed in the hope that the girl would answer his call. “I need to come up with a name for him.” he thought to himself.
Passing such familiar places, past the familiar trees on which he and Lei were together and realizing that it was the Second Clan, Longwei ducked abruptly and hid behind a pile of logs. Peering out cautiously, he saw no one. The entire village was completely empty.
“Father.” a voice was heard behind him.
Shuddering all over, Longwei almost had a heart attack. Losing his balance, he fell to the ground.
Laughing, the girl said, “You’re coward.”
“You. Why didn’t you stop when I said you to stop? How can you not listen to your father? What if something happened to you? You could have fallen, hurt yourself!” Longwei, without noticing it, began to shout. And the reason for that was a simple worry.
“But I just wanted to see the bird. She was so beautiful.” the girl answered lowering her eyes.
Feeling all the responsibility that was now on him, Longwei wrapped the girl in his coat and said, “Don’t do this anymore.” Not knowing how to deal with children, especially with such an incomprehensible and new creature for him, he was still in a slight shock. “You are a very strange child. Therefore, you must not run away from me.”
Peering through the fur collar, the girl asked, “Strange? Why am I strange?”
“Because you are different from everyone. You are different. I don’t know, I really don’t know how to explain it. But I have never seen anyone like you. I don’t know what you are and who you are, so please do not run away from me. And if you see someone, do not speak. Do not speak to anyone. Until I understand who you are.” Saying the last sentence quietly, Longwei caught a look full of determination and happiness.
“Dad, I can’t feel my legs.” whispered the girl.
Feeling uncomfortable, Longwei, still realizing that he is now a father, said through a slight cough, “Let me lift you up.”
Lifting the girl with ease, Longwei said, “You’re so light.” Thoroughly wrapping her legs and covering her face, he wanted to head towards the forest, but someone’s voice made him stop. Looking back, he saw Yue Liang’s face.
“Longwei!” Yue Liang exclaimed and ran to him. “I heard you came back, but why are you here?” he asked and noticing that there was someone in Longwei’s arms, he pointed at the girl and asked, “Who is this?”
Not knowing how to answer, Longwei for the second time lost his ability to speak.
