The Voyage In The Blizzard - Chapter 79
Grabbing his waistcoat, Lei forcibly pinned him to the rock and said with his low voice so that Yun Qi wouldn’t hear, “How could you hide it from me? Longwei, how could you?”
Feeling weak in his legs, Longwei fell to his knees and, trying to calm his trembling hands, said nothing.
With horror on his face, clenching his fists, Lei dashed from side to side like a wild beast that was cornered. Not knowing what to say, how to act, how to show his emotions, he fixed his gaze on the indifferent face of Longwei and did not even notice how another fire appeared in the sky, which stabbed the air around.
“Do not look at me like that.” Longwei said quietly.
“Don’t look how? Longwei!” Striking the stone with his fist, injuring the top layer of the skin on his hand, Lei began to walk back and forth again.
Suddenly, laughing sharply, Longwei covered his face and froze in that position until Lei again pressed him against the stone.
“Why are you laughing?! Why are you acting like that?!”
Calmly looking into his fire-filled eyes, Longwei ran his hand over his cheek and said, “Calm down..”
“Why didn’t you tell me about this?” he repeated his question.
“And if I said what would you do? Lei, don’t look at me like that. You can’t do anything. Nothing. Hear me? Absolutely nothing.”
With a wave of his hand, Lei punched him in the face without hesitation.
Wiping the thin line of blood flowing from the corner of his lips, Longwei said, “We have to go.”
Stopping him before he turned his back on him, Lei asked the question again with sadness and pain in his voice. “Who do you think I am for you?”
“This question is not relevant now.” Longwei replied taking a step forward.
“Who am I to you?” another question was asked. “Answer me.”
“And who am I to you?” Longwei answered with a question.
“Please answer. Longwei, who am I to you? Who are we to each other?”
“From the very beginning it was clear where this was going. Lei, maybe this is the right rule. Perhaps falling in love, it was unreasonable. And now knowing what the end will be, isn’t it easier for us just not to answer this question. Or pain will be stronger.” Longwei replied, feeling a hand on his shoulder.
“So that’s what you are.” Lei whispered. “I didn’t know you were such a coward.”
Having said this, he lowered his head as if he admitted to himself the unpleasant truth.
“And what does this have to do with it?”
“Longwei, you are going to die. But I won’t let it happen. Can you hear me?” Lei said, standing with his head held high. And his every word sounded like he attached some importance to each letter.
“Your heroism cannot always save.” Longwei said coldly and when he heard the sound of the sword coming out of the scabbard, he slowly turned and saw a sharp blade in front of his face. “And what do you want to do?”
“What’s the matter with you Longwei? Do you want to surrender so easily?”
“Don’t be like this Lei. As you cannot understand that nothing can be changed. Everything is already predetermined!”
Letting out one tear, Lei took his time to wipe it away and continued to stare at Longwei’s indifferent expression. Finally waiting for the moment when the fruit of his weakness fell on the hot ground, Lei said quietly but confidently, “I love you. Longwei.”
“Your love, my love, forget about it. Otherwise you will be deeply disappointed.” Turning away, Longwei added, “Love is selfish. I’m sorry I could not repay your love.”
“Yes, I am selfish! And therefore I will do everything for you to live!” Lei exclaimed no longer wondering if Yun Qi would hear or not.
“Dad!” Yun Qi suddenly exclaimed.
Forgetting about the conversation and even forgetting about themselves, they rushed to her voice.
Through the undulating rock cliffs, already far from them, seeing Yun Qi in Sun’s company, Longwei, without hesitation, automatically threw a small knife directly towards Sun. Before he had time to notice the knife, it was already stuck in his hand.
Seizing the moment, Yun Qi kicked him and twisted his arms into the lock. But being stronger than her, Sun as if the wind burst out of her hands was already behind. Grasping her by the neck and holding up his sword, he ordered, “Stay where you are, or I do not promise that my hand will be motionless.”
“Sun!”
“And you have no feeling of responsibility. What a parents! You left her alone and what were you doing? Chatting, smiling at each other?!” Wiping the blood from his forehead, he smiled and said, “Yun Qi, it’s so good that I met you. I certainly wouldn’t leave you alone in such a dangerous place.”
“Let me go!” Squirming in his arms and not paying attention to the sword at her throat, Yun Qi suddenly bit his hand, but he just screamed.
“You are so brave. No wonder. Just like Longwei. No! Stand still!”
“What do you want? What do you want from us at all?!” shouted Lei.
“Silly question. I thought you were more original my dear, beloved Lei.” Sun said venomously, not paying the slightest attention to the dragons flying overhead.
“Yun Qi! Let her go or you will regret it!”
“Fools, I came all this way to catch her. I even got a few wounds. Look.” Showing his hands covered in blood and exposing the top of his chest, he added, “This is the deepest wound. Right near the heart. I wonder how I survived at all.”
“Yun Qi, don’t be afraid.” Longwei said quietly, taking advantage of the moment while Sun was looking at his wounds.
“I’m not afraid.” Yun Qi replied calmly.
“How beautiful she is. So this is what a woman looks like. What a pity that no one remembers such beautiful, charming people.” Sun said touching Yun Qi’s face.
Not daring to stand and endure his disgusting fingers on her face, Yun Qi waited for the moment when his head was as close as possible to hers and when it was a perfect time, she sharply hit his head with her head.
Rebounding, Sun wanted to hit her but getting ahead of him, Longwei with one jump was already in front of Yun Qi.
“So you don’t want to surrender without a war. Well, let it be yours.” After wiping the blood off his forehead again, Sun whistled loudly, drawing more and more dragons’ attention.
Surrounding them on all sides, the beasts and still-living warriors of the Second Clan began to march right at them.
“Catch them. Or even kill them. They are too tenacious and strong. Yes, you better destroy them now.” Sun told them.
Without waiting for the soldiers to approach, Longwei, swinging his sword, struck a strong blow at one of them.
Yun Qi, dodging the hands of warriors and from the long claws and fangs of monsters, she slipped dexterously through the crowds in pursuit of her goal. Which was to kill Sun.
Dragons, meanwhile, realizing what was happening on their lands, also decided to join the battle.
Plunging their claws into the flesh of the beasts, they rose up and then threw them away, as if wanting to cleanse their home of unwanted cockroaches.
Covering the earth with fire, flying creatures flapping with their wings thereby created something like a typhoon of fire.
Moving his sword indiscriminately without stopping, Lei himself was a blade with the speed of light moving through the crowds of beasts.
At the same time, seeing the approaching dragons, he managed to bend down and cuddle to the ground, and the winged creatures grabbing several monsters at once threw them away.
“Yun Qi!” shouted Longwei as he climbed onto one of the rocks. But scalded from the hot earth, he rolled down.
“Longwei! Are you okay?!” managing to approach him, Lei quickly helped him to his feet.
“Where is Yun Qi?!”
Hiding behind a sharp rock in the shape of a sword, they ducked as low as possible.
With the attack of the dragons, the monsters and soldiers of Sun finally forgot about their goal. Now, this was a war of survival.
Watching the soldiers running somewhere with flames burning on them, Longwei suddenly heard Yun Qi’s voice.
“Yun Qi?!”
“Dad, I’m here.”
“Are you okay? Hide somewhere, I’ll come right now.”
“Dad! Three-headed!” she exclaimed and Longwei finally saw her.
Standing on the dais, she pointed high to the sky with her finger.
Turning to the side where she was pointing, Longwei opened his mouth in amazement at what he saw.
