The Voyage In The Blizzard - Chapter 90
“How are you my friends?” he asked holding an arrow in his hand.
“How did you get here?”
“Do not underestimate my powers Longwei. And what a rude question. I think you perfectly know why am I here. I just missed you.” he said with his usual sly smile.
Taking out the sword Lei moved forward which made Sun broke into laughter.
“What are you laughing at?” shouted Lei.
“Silly boys. Oh what is that look? Oh you are angry.. How sad. I don’t want to see you like this. Come on, smile for me.”
While he was showing off Yun Qi took her knife and when Sun raised his head up to the sky she threw it right towards him. The knife with her strength accelerated its flight until it reached the target.
Perfectly landing right inside of Sun’s leg the small weapon made him scream out of pain.
“You, don’t you know manners? Little girl.” saying this he waved with his hand and several soldiers came from behind the hills. “Catch them!” he ordered and bent down still in pain.
“Yun Qi!” Longwei shouted and taking her by the hand ran away from the dandelion field.
Blocking his way, ten warriors started walking towards them from all sides. Pointing the sharp edge of their swords, three of them were ready for a fight.
Noticing that they were surrounded from all sides Lei whispered, “They’re aiming an arrows at us. Don’t start the fight. Or they’ll hurt Yun Qi.”
“Hold them and don’t touch the girl.” Sun’s commanding voise was heard.
Kicking the soldier, Longwei made him fell down but when he was about to struck with his sword, several warriors caught his hands.
Lei, trying to release him involved into a fight.
“Yun Qi! Run!” he shouted hitting one of the warriors in the face.
Against their will, entering into a fierce battle, they both fought as best they could. Longwei in flight, with one swing of his legs, knocked several to the ground at once.
Bending down from the arrows flying in their direction, they with dexterity were able to let them pass by them, but at that moment when Longwei wanted to throw a knife at the soldier who was standing on the rock, the arrow pierced the air and hit his shoulder.
Lei got distracted and ran up to him. Pulling the arrow out, he lifted him to his feet.
Throwing a tall soldier over his shoulder, Lei made a somersault back thereby running away from another arrow.
But this battle did not last long. Because Sun’s army was much more powerful.
Not noticing how several arrows had already been stuck in their legs and arms, Longwei and Lei for the first time fell to their knees.
“Just look! Two great warriors! Lovers! Finally in our hands. Is it nice to feel defeat?” Ju Long asked loudly while standing on a high rock. Laughing loudly, he ordered, “Don’t let them run away! Everything can be expected from them!”
Kicking Longwei in the chest, the warrior with a deep and fresh scar on his face looked at Lei and asked, “Is it hard to watch when your loved one is in pain?”
Lei spat in his face through clenched teeth and said, “You will regret it. I promise you.”
Striking him in the face with all his might, the scarred warrior squeezing his cheeks brought him closer to his face. “And this is the great Lei. The legend and the most respected man of the Three Mountains. I feel sorry for you. You lost all your dignity because of some beautiful face.” Pointing to Longwei, he said.
Quickly removing the arrow from his leg, Lei jabbed it into his chest. Pushing the arrow deeper with all his might, he pushed him aside and the warrior fell with a crash.
“Tie them up!” someone ordered.
“No!”
“Lei, calm down!” shouted Longwei, feeling his arms breaking by the force of the rough rope.
“Well, what are you going to do now?”
Feeling blood flowing from the wound on his leg, Longwei looked at the grass, then at Lei, who was already paler than usual.
Knowing that he was about to pass out, Longwei did not give up. He didn’t want to die like this. Still not convinced that Yun Qi would live in a better world. Without any dangers.
After the long road, Sun still felt tired at his legs and still could not stop. Breathing in fresh, warm air filled with various aromas, he felt dizzy, which was replaced by a sense of his own superiority.
Reaching for the scarlet roses that created whole rows along the narrow streets, he smiled, pricking against the thorns. And at the sight of the blood that covered his finger, he also smiled.
He smiled at everything he saw. Sun, people, sky, fish, mountains. And turning to Yun Qi, who was walking behind him with her hands tied, he pointed to the roses and said, “You are like this flower. Beautiful, but you can hurt.”
Yun Qi, keeping her silence, walked with her head held high, surrounded by five warriors.
Stumbling over a stone lying on the road, she almost fell, but one of the soldiers who had a bandaged face caught her.
“And so, the kingdom of waterfalls. Waterfalls!” Sun exclaimed, thereby drawing attention to himself.
At first, the inhabitants of the kingdom did not immediately notice the strange guests, but over time, when they began to see Yun Qi and how the warriors looked, in torn clothes that were stained with blood, everyone was wary.
“How peaceful it is here. I already feel sad. Why sad? What do you think?” he asked looking at his soldiers.
“Because your pets aren’t here?” one of them asked.
“True. Because they are not here. But this is not the main thing. I am sad because here, everything is somehow too beautiful. I am sad from the excess of beauty.” Sun said brushing his hair back.
“You’re crazy.” Yun Qi said, unable to be silent any longer.
“Thank you. That’s right. I don’t deny it.” Sun noticed. Turning to her, he lifted her chin and studying her face, he continued, “Yun Qi, my luck. I forgot to thank you for saving me. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be here now.”
Stepping back abruptly, Yun Qi, without taking her eyes off him, also smiled in response to his smile. “You’re right.” she answered.
“A beautiful smile. Beautiful. And everything is beautiful!” Sun exclaimed loudly, tearing off a yellow flower.
“Where are we going? Don’t you think we are lost?” asked the warrior with a surprised expression on his face.
Stopping, Sun looked at Yun Qi and asked, “You know this world. So tell me where the queen lives?”
“Who are you to ask about Her Majesty?” suddenly asked the girl in golden armor. Coming closer to them, she studied each one and asked, “Who are you?”
“The warriors of this world look much prettier.” Sun noticed as he looked at her cold yet sophisticated face.
“Answer me! Who are you?” she repeated the question.
“Well, if you’re so curious.” started Sun, but without waiting for his answer, the girl in armor imperceptibly grabbed both of his hands and before he had time to give the order to his soldiers, she was already pressing him to the ground.
“This is a bad idea.” he said. “Well, I thought this world was friendly. But if not, then I won’t pretend either.” Shaking his head, Sun illuminated his expression with another smile. “Take me to your queen and then I will decide what to do next.”
Joining the conversation, Yun Qi said, “Take us to Queen Li Hua.”
“Why should I listen to you?” asked the girl knight tightening her grip.
“Ruolan!”
Responding to this name, the girl knight turned back and saw another woman in the same armor.
“What’s going on here?” the woman asked.
“They want to see Her Majesty Li Hua. I don’t know where they come from.” replied Ruolan.
Coming closer and, like Ruolan, studying everyone’s swords and their strange clothes, the woman in armor, touching Sun’s vest on which there were drops of blood, said, “You obviously have been in the war.”
“It’s right.” replied Sun. “Please tell your Ruolan to let me go. Otherwise I will be left without hands.”
“Let him go.” the woman ordered. “Why do you need the queen?”
“Let’s just say I want to remind her of something.” Sun answered, and at the same moment of complete peace and silence, arrows flew from the side of the monument and crowds of soldiers appeared from behind.
During the impending chaos, Yun Qi suddenly felt a hand on her back.
A warrior who had a bandaged face quickly whispered, “When I untie your hands, run as fast as possible. Run towards the south.”
