The Voyage In The Blizzard - Chapter 91
“Defend the palace!”
In a panic, the women, grabbing their children, ran in different directions.
Not daring to wait when everything calms down and guests from other lands leave, the Royal Army did not make itself wait long. Nien, at the head of the thousandth soldiers, turned out to be more cunning, and if at first Sun’s army took everyone hostage, now they were captured by the royal army.
Aiming arrows, swords, and other cunning weapons similar to pistols, the women warriors stared ahead in silence.
Approaching Ruolan Nien asked, “What’s going on here? Who are they?”
To which Ruolan replied, “I don’t know who they are. But one thing I know for sure they are from the same world as Yun Qi and those two.”
“I knew they were going to bring us trouble.” Nien said, casting a vicious glance at Yun Qi..
Yun Qi, on the other hand, looking warily at the soldier with the bandaged face could not understand why his voice seemed so familiar to her.
“I have to admit your army is worthy of praise.” said Sun, looking around.
“Who are you?” asked Nien.
“Before you know who I am, please take me to the Queen.” he said. Grabbing Yun Qi by the hand, he pulled her close to him and with a pleading air said, “I only came to take this girl home. I just want to protect her. Do you know why?” he asked with a frightened look. “Because Longwei and Lei killed their own head of the clan. They are murderers. So they ran away. Alas, I don’t know what they said to her, but she lost her head and joined them.”
“It is not true!” Yun Qi screamed and stepped on his leg with all her might.
Blushing with pain, he still controlled himself. “So let us take her.”
Glancing suspiciously at Yun Qi, Nien pondered.
“Don’t believe him. He’s lying!” Yun Qi exclaimed but immediately felt Sun put the knife to the back of her neck.
“Sun!” suddenly someone screamed and an arrow cutting through the air flew past Nien and landed in the bark of a tree.
Delun climbed onto the roof of one of the houses and stood with a bow. Pulling the bowstring, he directed another arrow in his direction, but instead of hitting Sun, it hit one of the soldiers who were standing next to Yun Qi.
“It’s time for you to end these games!” he exclaimed.
“He keeps lying! He really wants to take over the whole kingdom. Do you know who he is?! He is a descendant of Jang Sun! The same Jang Sun who cursed Queen Li Hua many centuries ago!” Yun Qi exclaimed.
“What did you say?” Nien asked without understanding what was going on.
“You know about everything. Legend. Jang Sun and Lan Jun. What I say is true. And this man came to do everything that was several centuries ago!”
Laughing loudly, Sun grabbed Yun Qi by the collar and wanted to strike but Nien caught his hand and kicked him with all her might. The loud laughter filled everything.
A moment of silence. The moment of tension. One arrow shot and distant strange sounds were the last straw for a new battle to begin.
Quickly and dexterously snatching swords straight from their hands, the Royal Army surrounded a considerable number of soldiers of the Second clan.
Yun Qi took advantage of the moment and wanted to run away, but Sun didn’t let go of her by the legs. With her hands tied, trying to push him away, to free herself from his grip, Yun Qi suddenly felt someone’s hand on her shoulder.
“I told you to wait for me.” said a warrior with a bandaged face. Taking out a knife, he quickly re-ripped the ropes and freed her hands. Kicking Sun and grabbing him by the hair, he threw him at Nien’s feet. But she, not noticing him, shot one arrow after another at the soldiers who were attacking like a real beasts.
“Who are you?” Yun Qi asked.
And then the warrior, removing the bandage that hid non-existent wounds, turned out to be none other than the son of Baofeng-Xue, Xing Fu.
“Xing Fu!” she exclaimed happily and wanted to hug him, but Xing Fu stopped her. “Go quickly south. There you will find rocky mountains. Faster!”
“How do you know where to go?”
“Long story. Run.”
Pushing her away, Xing Fu, did not show his pain, which was inflicted on him by an arrow that had just hit his shoulder. While Yun Qi was still nearby, he quickly pulled it out and when she turned to look at him he waved his hand in response, smiling, “Run!”
“There are more and more of them, what should we do?” Ruolan asked.
“It has been a long time since our army fought like that!” said Nien and whistled loudly. Whole armies of armored soldiers responded to her whistle a few seconds later. Sitting on horses, each of them held in their hands golden swords that reflected the sun’s rays.
“Everyone! Go home quickly and don’t leave until you hear my signal.” Nien ordered and galloped towards the palace.
In a panic, not knowing what to do, the inhabitants of the kingdom fled headlong towards their homes while the royal army was protecting them.
“Where is the Master?” asked one of the warriors, clutching a fresh wound. “Find the Master!”
But even if there was a chaos, the Royal Army brought the entire city in order in a matter of seconds.
Snatching a sword from almost everyone, the warriors of Her Majesty in silence continued to sit on their horses.
Circling around all the soldiers present, whose number did not exceed thirty, Nien said, “By your appearance and manner of fighting, you spent almost your entire life in the war. Judging by the blood and tattered clothes, you saw a lot on the way here.” She stopped speaking, standing in the sun, raised her hand up and continued, “Since you decided to just attack the Kingdom like that, then most likely you are very brave or very stupid.”
“Shut up you!” Someone cried out from the crowd.
Turning in the direction where the cry came from, Nien laughed. “Take them all away.” she ordered.
With the sunset, returning to the previous channel of life, the inhabitants of the kingdom, leaving their homes, began to put in order all the mess that was created by the soldiers of the Second Clan.
Whispering and looking around everyone in a slight panic could not calm down. Because everyone was feeling the impending threat.
Surrounding the entire kingdom from all sides, the ranks of warriors formed a perfect circle. Armed and staring forward, the knights of the royal army were ready to remain calm at any cost.
Looking at the evening sky on which clouds resembling fish slowly floated by, Li Hua folded her arms in front of her and sat silently in the main hall.
Sighing, dropping her long eyelashes, she had been waiting for that very guest for an hour.
Hearing the sound of hooves in the distance and the voices of people, she proudly raised her head and did not dare to turn and look towards the entrance. But when she finally heard quiet, almost soundless footsteps, she glanced aside and said, “Welcome to the kingdom of waterfalls.”
Sitting on a soft chair, Sun grabbed the apple and began to eat it. In a matter of seconds, the apple disappeared in his hand. Having emptied the entire jug of water, he took another jug. Having poured water on his face, he sighed with relief and was now ready to speak.
Kneeling in front of Li Hua bowed his head forward. “Your Majesty.” With just one glance at her, he added, “Never in my life have I seen anyone so beautiful.”
Ignoring his compliment, Li Hua straightened her brooch.
“I haven’t properly introduced myself.” he said himself. “My name is Sun. I came from a distant land that you have never heard of. And like you, I also occupy an important position. I am the head of the clan. And a warrior too.”
“Sun from the Second Clan.” said Li Hua already knowing him from all Lei’s colorful stories.
“I must admit your army is worthy of praise. I even envy you. No matter how much I teach my guys, they are still naughty. Sometimes it seems to me that they do everything on purpose. To annoy me.”
Continuing to sit on the throne, Li Hua reluctantly shook her head.
“I don’t know much about you. And I must admit I’m terribly nervous right now.” he said, getting to his feet. “But I know your distant grandmother. More precisely, I do not know, I just read some book about her. And judging by the description, you are very similar to her.”
Li Hua, keeping calm and equanimity, seemed to him even impartial and arrogant.
“Your Majesty.” he began but stopped and looked around. With a look of wonder and delight, he said, “I’m just speechless. I have never been in such a beautiful place before.”
Finally, Li Hua got up from the throne and went to the column. Without looking at the guest, she said, “If you came to say how surprised you are, then I think we should stop talking at this point. And if you want to talk about something else, then start now.”
“Oh, how I love specific people. I don’t like walking around until the roundabout.” Looking around again, he whispered, “I hope we are alone here. Otherwise, if your soldier in beautiful armor hits me again, I’ll just crumble. After the exhausting road, I have no strength left at all.”
“It’s just us.” said Li Hua as she walked down the stairs to the garden. Following her, Sun did not take his eyes off her snow-white hair pinned by a golden barrette and said, “If not for this curse.” But he did not dare to continue.
“You are here to talk about the curse.”
“I’m here to stop someone.” Sun answered directly. “I want to put all the cards on the table. Your Majesty, I’m only here for three people. And if you let me to take them back, without war, without any offense, then I promise no one else will disturb your kingdom.”
“Don’t tell me your goal is so simple.” said Li Hua.
Shaking his head, Sun smiled. “I’m not as great as you. My goal is simple. And it lies in those three people who are now perhaps running away or fighting for their lives.”
“Why do you need them?”
“Don’t you know?”
“How do I know. You burst into this world so abruptly. And now you think that I know everything about you.” Li Hua objected.
“You’re right.” replied Sun. Touching the fragile leaves of small trees, he looked down. “It is so pleasant to speak with you. I have never felt so calm and good at heart as now.”
Looking away from him, Li Hua calmly continued, “In life, a person only needs peace. In peace, perhaps that very happiness is.”
Using his style of doubling his personality, Sun changed his mood and tore off a flower, brought it to his face but immediately threw it aside so that he felt disgusted.
“If calmness is so important to you, then withdraw your troops and do not interfere with my plans. Otherwise, my dear beasts will attack your whole kingdom before you can blink.
