The Weapon Masters Transmigration - Chapter 107 That Was a Quick Figh
Cole raced after Mikhail. With each corner he turned, walls of ice followed. Instead of slashing them away with his sword, he continued to eat at them with〔Devour〕

Cole was quite glad that there weren’t any carpets covering the floor. No, it wasn’t over trauma from how he died, it was because he could properly assess the mansion’s layout as he walked through it. It also gave him a little insight into Mikhail’s mind as well.
He either didn’t put any carpets because (A), he didn’t like them, or (B).
‘Because it would be easier to hear a criminal that way.’
He continued to follow Mikhail until the entrance where a giant barricade made out of ice crossed out the stairs to the entrance of the mansion. It was a beautiful blue and cold air oozed out from the wall.
It was quite thick and while Cole could devour it or slice it in half, it would take a bit of Mana to do so. Cole looked at the vertical grey bar in the left part of his vision. He decided that the sphere graphic was best changed into something where the drop and increase in Mana would be more obvious.
And rather than quantifiable numbers to describe how much Mana he had, it now acted more like a percentage bar of the same thing.
It was staying at around 80% since the assumed constant cost of his sword cancelled out his Mana regeneration rate.
Cole leisurely walked towards the wall of ice. He could follow Mikhail anytime because his scent was one that Cole had a strong memory of. He placed his hand on the wall. The temperature was freezing and yet Cole wasn’t bothered in the slightest.
“〔Hollow〕”
The wall didn’t seem to change much from the outside. Cole then lightly tapped it with the force of a small poke.
*KRR*
*KRRRR*
*KKKRRAAACCCKKK*
After that, the wall completely shattered. Cole ate up the remaining shards of ice, causing his Mana bar to regain a bit of his expended Mana.
Cole’s eyes stayed as cold as the ice he had hollowed out and slowly started to walk through the door.

Cole followed all the traces Mikhail left. Whether it be his lingering scent in the air. the echo of his footsteps or ice trail he left behind on purpose.
Eventually, Cole was brought outside.
He cared not a single bit for the beautiful garden design. He continued to follow after Mikhail’s traces and eventually stopped.
The place Cole was led to was a magnificent greenhouse. It was made out of glass-like any other greenhouse and dark-green steel was used for its frame. It looked both classy and elegant.
Flora from all parts of the world could be seen through the glass. From rose bushes to gigantic palm trees, there were plenty of spots to hide behind inside the greenhouse. All traces from Mikhail had disappeared.
Cole casually walked to the entrance of the greenhouse. He was fully aware that the man had done all of that on purpose and his next move would probably be…
‘There!’
As he pretended to open the greenhouse door, the attack didn’t come from the entrance as one would usually expect. It raced towards Cole from behind like a wave of ice.
*KRIING*
Cole cut the ice into thousands of little shards and they flew about in mid-air. But then, they suddenly changed direction and all were headed towards numerous points at Cole’s bodies.
‘So he can do that as well…’
“〔Devour〕”
Black jaws emerged from Cole’s shadow and devoured the ice shards into nothingness. He had gathered valuable information about the enemy’s capabilities. But as he was gathering intel on the enemy, the other side was doing the same as well.
‘A black sword and black jaws…’
Mikhail was watching from on top of a big tree in the courtyard. His eyes contained a serious glint and he stroked his chin as he observed Cole from afar.
‘His ability is probably an energy-type ability that can form into different shapes. Whether the shapes are set or not is something I can’t deduce yet…’
Mikhail had both studied and seen various kinds of abilities ever since he was young. It was essential if he wanted to inherit the family business and be his father’s successor. From simple and plain abilities that barely did anything to ones that could destroy cities if handled without proper care.
Because of that, Mikhail always had a natural advantage when it came to fights. One’s personality usually came hand in hand with what and/or how they used their ability.
Mikhail’s problem was that Cole was the calculating-type. The same type as him. The battle would probably be dragged out into one of attrition at the start with both sides doing their best to gather information about the other side.
But when Cole had gathered enough info, Mikhail had no doubt that once Cole was done, he would head straight for Mikhail and he would be at a disadvantage.
His ability was better suited for mid to long-range attacks and he could only extend ice from where his feet were. Just as Mikhail was choosing the next best course-of-action, Cole had muttered out something.
Mikhail was close enough to see Cole’s actions but too far away to read his lips or be detected.
“〔Hollow: Rabbit Hole〕”
Cole disappeared from his former position, throwing Mikhail into a state of shock but only for a moment. He jumped off the tree in one motion and sent ice up the tree. The tree froze and it turned into a magnificent ice statue that could break at any moment.
But right after, he turned around and sent ice in that direction as well. Unfortunately, like the previous attack, nothing came of it.
However, Mikhail had not a single intention of staying in one place. The feeling that Cole would pop out at any moment only grew stronger by the second. He dashed into the greenhouse. With so much foliage inside, Cole would be hard-pressed to find Mikhail in the middle of it all.
But on his way, he had another bad feeling. This time, it came from the ground under his feet.
*KRIING*
Ice shot out from his feet, glazing the concrete and stone paths into an ice rink.
*KRIK*
But as soon as it was formed, a hand emerged from the ice, nearly grabbing Mikhail’s leg. After the hand, the rest of Cole’s body
“〈Tch. Both your intuition and perception are strong, old man.〉”
‘I’m not sure if it’s his instincts at work but damn… He’s sharp.’
Cole relied on Mikhail’s senses to lure him to the greenhouse but it was even more monstrous than he expected. He could only chalk it up to probably all the experience the dude had built up. Cole cut away the ice once more and stood up.
Mikhail
Both of their excitement and expectation for a good fight had already faded away. What’s more, both of them also realized that it would take a long time if they continued to fight. Cole wouldn’t be able to find a way past intuition and pure instinct.
His best option was to charge head-on. Because Mikhail was already a grandpa, Cole obviously had the advantage in all physical aspects. Young and a body made just for combat.
The only reason Cole hadn’t done so from the start…
‘The force of going so fast kinda hurts.’
‘I also don’t want to have to pay for too much for damages.’
‘I feel lazy today.’
‘Now that I think about, it’s Valentines today isn’t it?’
‘That means it’s also Felicia’s birthday.’
‘Well, that’s one of the other reasons why I decided to go to the〈Times Zone〉today.’
Even though such thoughts had the small chance of ruining Cole’s reputation in the〈Avant Zone〉if he was to ever say them out loud, Cole’s face looked as cool and dignified as ever.
Cole held his sword against his shoulder and stared at Mikhail. He also seemed to have realized that he would definitely lose in the end.
He looked to a nearby tea table that wasn’t part of the wreckage located near a tree for some shade. He walked towards it and sat down all the while being watched by Cole’s gaze.
He took out a cigarette from one pocket and a lighter from another. He lit it up and let out one big puff of smoke. Cole winced slightly at the tobacco’s stale smell. His free hand even instinctively covered up his nose.
Mikhail was a bit surprised about the fact that even though he wasn’t that close to Cole, he instantly reacted to the smell. Cole already didn’t like the smell of cigarettes on Mikhail’s body. Him smoking only made it worse. It wasn’t the worst thing he had smelled but still, he didn’t like it.
Mikhail looked at Cole. Now that he was out of the dark office and under the rays of the sun, he could see his appearance clearly.
A youthful face with white skin that made him look a bit dollish. Black eyes that could become an abyss of doom or a black diamond. Silver hair that was rarely seen and was a dominant trait in Mikhail’s family.
He looked similar enough to Mikhail that they could be mistaken for father and son.
“…”
His eyes were still dead set on Mikhail and his brows were slightly furrowed due to the smell. The sword in his hand hadn’t disappeared despite both of them wordlessly agreeing that further fighting would be useless.
Mikhail brought out a bottle out of vodka from under the table cover. Cole wasn’t sure if he should be surprised or if he should have expected such.
“〈…Want some vodka?〉”
