The Weapon Masters Transmigration - Chapter 117 Leviathan
“Okay, well then. Eva, do me a favour and go near that boulder right there and don’t move a single inch.”
Eva tilted her head in confusion. She didn’t know why Cole asked her to do this but she followed his orders nonetheless. Once she was at a safe distance, Cole focused his eyes on the deeper waters of the sea. It hadn’t even been a few seconds when something finally entered his detection range.
‘800 meters… 700 meters…Judging from its shadow, vibrations, speed… A Levi?’
〔If it’s a Levi, it shouldn’t be this close the the〈Neutral Zone〉shore. It would be a very risky move for the〈Avant Zone〉. Maybe it’s a rogue old model? 20 years after all.〕
‘Ah, it’s coming.’
Now, ordinary people could clearly see it. The sudden rushing and disrupture of the once calm sea. The distant sound of gears turning and metal moving.
〔SSSSSKKKKKKKKRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE!!!!!〕
And then it appeared, a mental monster in the form of the mythological monster, the Leviathan. Its body was sectioned and made out of a dark-blue metal. Its ‘head’ was thick and angular in shape and acted like the pressure hull of a submarine with their thickness…
Fins could be found on its body for better mobility in the water with a few looking like scales mounted on its back.
Two sockets could be seen on its side which resembled eyes. They let out a menacing orange glow from them that reminded you a bit of an angler’s light.
A metallic screech emanated from its opened mouth allowing you to see the countless razor blades inside its mouth and something resembling a laser cannon as well. Besides that, Cole could see dried bloodstains on its ‘teeth’.
〔…I had completely forgotten how loud these things were.〕
‘Strange, I can’t hear anything at all.’
〔It’s probably auto-mute at work. One of the handy functions of your weird headphones.〕
‘Automatically regulates sounds to be heard and blocked to avoid eardrum damage, I know.’
〔How did you think up of this one again?〕
Yes, the Leviathan right here was one of the projects Cole had designed and actually got into mass-production for actual field use. You might question why any military would need a thing called a ‘Leviathan’.
It was a machine Cole had designed to do all the things a military submachine could do but automatic.
The reason for such a machine being created was for certain planets that due to the majority of their planet being submerged in water, it’s either their species evolved as a whole to sustain aquatic life while gaining human-like intelligence or technology to survive in such a world.
Thus, there’s your explanation.
‘Ah, I remember the first time it was put in the field for combat.’
〔You felt like such a proud dad back then.〕
‘Well, it’s something I made. Why wouldn’t I be proud of it?’
As Cole thought that, he realized that he felt inconsistent with himself. It was like the time when his brain felt a bit dizzy when he was sick for a bit.
〔UUUURRRRRWWWWEEEEEE!!!〕
Unfortunately, his train of thought quickly got disrupted as the screeching Leviathan charges straight after him.
Cole moved to the side but moved his attention to the ground. The sand that had been raised up by the Leviathan’s charge had become a kind of dust cloud, hiding it from Cole’s vision.
It wouldn’t give it any problem since Cole didn’t give it a single visual sensor and mostly focused on thermal ones or sonars for its detection capabilities.
But Cole didn’t design it for solely underwater warfare, he at the time thought it would be a bit of a waste. He decided he would let it ‘dive’ into other landmasses that so it could also be used for underground purposes.
Although, it was still mainly used in aquatic areas because it clearly excelled in its main field.
Cole focused his senses on the sandy beach behind him. He felt the vibrations the Leviathan made in the underground and waited for the perfect moment to strike…
Or at least that’s what he could’ve done if he didn’t want to go home yet.
Cole straightened his back and patted a bit of the sand that got on his clothes off.
‘You know, Steward, want to learn something?’
〔…What?〕
‘Magnetism is a word usually used to describe the phenomenon when an object is attracted to another by a magnetic force.’
〔Uh huh, so?〕
Steward was aware of all the basic information needed to know in human society and certain scientific environments all thanks to Cole’s own knowledge. The only difference was the way their thinking was structured.
‘You see, everything has a magnetic field and is affected by magnetism except for the fact that it is about ten thousand times weaker than an object with magnetic properties.’
Steward then started to catch on. He knew where Cole was going with this and he instantly became terrified because Cole was a man who couldn’t care less about his well-being if it came to testing things that came to pique his interest.
‘I’ve always wanted to try this out sometime and I finally have the chance!’
〔Cole, rethink this. Please. For the love of God. Think of all the metal stuff in you. What if those get affected?〕
Cole started to grow annoyed at Steward. It seems that he had just been lazing around in his valuable headspace while Cole was experimenting with is ability. There were two ways of use, to either transform his entire or part of his body into a magnet or affect the magnetic interactions other objects had with each other.
With that piece of knowledge and Cole’s wonderful sense of control, he decided to carry out his little strength experiment.
So, Cole ignored all of Steward’s ramblings, put his hand on the ground and just said one, simple word.
“〔Magnet〕”
The ground started rumbling and it didn’t take long for something to happen. Cole felt something make contact with his hand and without a single moment of delay, he drew back his hand like he was preparing to throw a baseball at a batter.
And what followed right after?
The body of the Leviathan being dragged around like a ragdoll while teetering on the edge of being crushed by the magnetic forces being applied to it.
Right after, Cole pried open its jaws and started dismantling it while it still was on. He didn’t even bother turning it off first. To do that, you’d need to take it all the way to a military post. It was designed this way so the enemy wouldn’t be able to easily design it in detail.
But as the creator, Cole knew every single nick and cranny of the thing. He decided to take it apart and use the metal for something far more useful than staying as a battle machine with nowhere to do battle.
The Leviathan let out of all sorts of sounds and metal screeches to deter Cole but it didn’t bother him in the slightest.

It wouldn’t be able to use its weapon effectively on land and could only continue to take the abuse Cole was dealing it. Once he was finally done, he couldn’t help but stop and admire the work he had put into the design of the Leviathan.
“Ah, the Myth series. My favourite out of all of my creations purely due to their design.”
〔Ah, the times where you entered your inspirational phase. You never pilotable mechs though.〕
‘Why would I? Their clearly inefficient and a heck lot more expensive than making your average tank.’
Cole decided that he would end up having to temporarily lift Felicia’s punishment. It was at these times where you could clearly see her be useful even though she always was and it was just not explicitly stated.
But Cole was aware of the other dangers presented by the fact he had found a Leviathan here. He could tell from the bits of damage he saw before him smacking it everywhere that it was indeed a rogue old model.
It was also because of the serial number printed inside the mouth that he confirmed this truth even more. They were numbered by their Generation Number and the date they were manufactured.
To be honest, Cole would have loved to just send a signal to jam its systems but he had one small problem preventing that.
“It would be dangerous if they sensed an emission all the way here. It might either be taken as a stray shot or a declaration of war.”
He was aware of the〈Avant Zone〉’s capabilities and although they could think of the other possibility, they could be extremely cautious when it comes to war-related matters.
‘If it wasn’t for that… Maybe I wouldn’t have been born?’
As Cole was thinking of certain possibilities and what should be his next course of action, Eva walked up to him from her hiding spot. She had watched everything from start to finish and the entire battle had only confirmed one thing for her.
“Hey, Papa.”
“Hm?”
“You’re super cool.”
