The Weapon Masters Transmigration - Chapter 91 Black Hollow
“…”
Cole stood there in silence. Lucille thought in her tired and fatigued mind that he was probably impressed already.
‘Hmph! I didn’t waste the past weeks of gathering the time, funds, and resources to form this organization so I could slowly pull out the missions from〈S.T.E.L.L.A〉for nothing!’
“So, impressed already– Hey! Where are you going?!”
“Out. Judging from the name, you probably intend for it to be some kind of spy group.”
“N-No…”
Lucille’s eyes darted across the room. She didn’t want to look into Cole’s. She had a feeling if she did, she’d seen a bottomless abyss. She’s stared into one before but accompanied with those abyssal eyes would be a dead face riddled with disappointment.
“Dear Ancestor, lying is bad. Honesty is a virtue.”
“I’m a Demon, I’m not supposed to be virtuous.”
“Then since you’re my ‘Ancestor’, I guess I should follow your example.”
With that, Cole once again attempted walking out the door. He had already lost all his interest the moment he found out it would just be more fieldwork for him.
“Uuu…”

Before he could even get one foot out the door, he heard the sound of a certain someone pouting? crying? Whatever, sad spoiled child noises.
Cole peeked back behind him and saw the great Empress
“I guess the name sounds cool at least.”
With just those words, Lucille was instantly revived. Cole started wondering where her former Queen-like personality went, but then finally noticed the eyebags she had under her eyes.
“It’s purpose is to carry out tasks that are a bit… Let’s say more violent in nature in comparison to what we’re allowed to commission to〈S.T.E.L.L.A〉”
“Espionage, assassinations, infiltration, extractions… Basically your run of the mill spy work.”
‘I guessed that already.’
“And luckily for me, you just happen to be VERY experienced in that field.”
“What are you talking about? I was a simple soldier through and through. Who, through hard work and perseverance, ended the war. Although, I hear that some people blow it up to the Universal War nowadays.”
Cole appeared clueless in regards to what Lucille was saying. However, it was obvious to Lucille that he was merely joking. She had watched him all his life. And she could tell…
There was no way he could view himself in such a light.
“Do you really expect me to believe your lies, Cole?”
“Hey, it’s fun to joke once a while.”
He gave her a smile and just shrugged his shoulders. But after that, he crossed his arms and leaned against the wall.
“But why should I accept your offer? I can go anywhere I want now that I have free time.”
“I don’t really have to worry about money either since the previous owner just happened to have a lot of luck.”
“Then how about I tell you another duty they have? Research.”
“…”
Cole pondered. Lucille, although a resident of the〈Demon Realm〉, had a lot of knowledge regarding the other Zones and their technology. Cole knew this because she was the one who had helped establish〈S.T.E.L.L.A〉in the first place.
He assumed that she didn’t bring that tech into the〈Demon Realm〉due to the various risks it had. But anyway, it meant that he would be given sufficient equipment for whatever ‘research’ he was supposed to do.
This would be quite beneficial for him since it meant that he wouldn’t have to try and go all the way to the〈Avant Zone〉to go get them somehow. He still needed to know what kind of research he was going to do.
“What kind?”
Lucille didn’t respond and only gave Cole a mysterious smile. He really felt like challenging the Demon Empress to a duel. Would also be a great way to check the maximum capabilities of him and his body. He still hadn’t found something he could do that to yet.
I mean, there was Val but Cole wanted to do that during a thunderstorm.
“Ah! By the way, another duty of Black Hollow, specifically the leader’s is to assist me and〈S.T.E.L.L.A〉in whatever way they can. Of course, only if they have the time.”
As she said that, Cole could see her not-so-subtle gestures towards the stacks of paper she had on her desk. By this point in time, Cole had already accepted the offer so Lucille couldn’t help but seek aid already.
Cole looked back and forth between Lucille and her papers for about 3 times. Since she was only ‘suggesting’ it, Cole continued walking out the door.
But when he had thought that he had entered the corridor outside, he was instead facing Lucille again and her desk. Still flooded by stacks of paper.
Cole took a step back and stared at the door. There was a faint golden glow bordering its lines. Cole could destroy part of the wall and head out that way, but he had a feeling that Lucille would charge him for the destruction of private property.
It was also a bit troublesome to do so.
Lucille was taunting him with a perfect business smile and pointed to a specific pile.
‘Looks like I’ll still be sleeping late tonight…’
“Your Majesty, I suggest you take a quick nap.”
“Not having enough sleep makes one’s mind muddled after all. You must be quite irritable due to lack of it.”
While Cole said that, he picked up his designated mountain and headed towards the door. Without hesitation, he kicked open a giant hole in the wall.
“Look at me, I’ve even mistaken the wall for a door!”
Cole’s dead face accompanied by his sarcastic tone really made Lucille feel like beating him up. But she might damage all the important documents he had in his hands. But, she thought that it was still her win.
“Well then, I’ll be taking my leave.”
Cole left with a few stacks of documents together with him. Lucille felt relieved and gave herself a little fist bump.
*SLAM*
After Cole left, Lucille’s office was now only filled with silence along with her and the much smaller mountain of papers. Her foolish face slowly disappeared and her sharp gaze and majestic bearing returned.
Her eye bags were still there though. She didn’t dilly dally and continued with the remaining sheets of work she had to do. But before she had barely even started, her hands stopped.
‘He didn’t ask about his mother at all…’
She looked back at the… new entrance to her office and thought for a bit. Now that she thought about it, it looked like the thought of his mother hadn’t crossed his mind at all. She had even prepared a whole branch of dialogue if he did.
He had such a strong reaction when she mentioned it the first time they had met but after that, he had never made another visit to pester her about it ever since.
Lucille wanted to know more about what exactly was Cole’s family situation since she had only begun watching him when he somehow made his way to this world.
“But still, that was one horrible look he had on his face as he left… Maybe I should get Gemi to write him a prescription.”
“He’s right though, what was I thinking? I really should get some sleep…”
“If only Clyde didn’t have work to do as well…”
Lucille decided that she had no more brainpower left to spend for the day. She grabbed a random piece of paper and laid it on her face since she could barely care enough now to get a sleeping mask.
