The Weapon Masters Transmigration - Chapter 98 Ashwell
Cole headed to his former workplace to change his name, But specifically speaking, he was going to his former department. He didn’t expect he’d be back so soon. There was no need for him to prepare any kind of paperwork or documents for the name change.
Lucille had told him that he needed a new identity anyway so the papers will be prepared over there.
He felt a bit vexed at the fact. Cole liked doing things in a neat and orderly fashion from time to time. He couldn’t help but feel that he was doing something wrong by not coming with all the required documents.
It was similar to the feeling he would get when someone would try to persuade him to disobey his parents. He didn’t like it.
“Papa… Where is this…?”
Eva asked as she held Cole’s hands tightly. Her legs were trembling and her eyes looked like they were about to burst into tears as she saw the pure nothingness surrounding the ground〈S.T.E.L.L.A〉was built on.
‘It’s just like…’
Eva remembered a certain page in her picture book. It was vastly different from the other pages. The background was composed of very dark colours. The main subject was basically a big blob of black splattered on to the page.
But it was very creepy. The only thing that made it pop out was its eerie green glow. The glow would come out of the monster’s eyes, the suction cups of its tentacles and anywhere there was a gap or hole on its body. The monster’s name was…
“Kupakalulu…”
“Kupakalulu? What kind of name is that?”
Felicia asked as she stroked Eva’s head. While what she said might have come off as a bit rude or uncaring, gentleness could be heard in her voice.
“It’s the name of the monster in Nerie’s .”
Eva seemed to have calmed down somewhat but her legs still wouldn’t move.
“”
Her face scrunched up into one full of anxiety and fear. She clearly remembered the passage written in a bold red colour and a sort of scribbly-type of a font.
Her grip on Cole’s hand tightened even further. Cole sighed and asked her a question.
“Eva, have you finished reading that book?”
“No… Because I got pulled out here.”
She said with a bit of dissatisfaction in her tone. Cole thought so. SInce if she had finished it, she wouldn’t be so scared of the unusual darkness.
“Then, I’m sorry for spoiling. But the monster is defeated by Sir Lucas..”
Eva stopped shaking but immediately continued for a different reason. She raised her head and looked at Cole. Her eyes were shining and there was not a trace of fear to be found.
“Is that true?”
“Yeah.”
At Cole’s words, her face bloomed into an adorable little smile. She raised her fist in excitement and said out loud.
“Finally! Sir Lucas is so cool! I was wondering when he’d get the chance to slay something!”
“Is he your favourite character?”
“YES! He’s also one of the few people who reappear in Neries’s other works!”
Eva let go of Cole’s hand and left Felicia’s touch. She clasped her hands and stared up to the sky like she was in awe of it.
“His silky ice-blue hair, his golden eyes that shine with hope!”
“Since he’s a knight, he probably has abs…”
“Felicia, I don’t think that’s important.”
Cole left Felicia with her random thoughts and crouched down to Eva’s eye level. He realized that he did that a lot whenever he was with her. He put on a small smile and patter her head.
“But what a coincidence, he’s my favourite too.”
“Really?”
“Yes, but we can discuss that late. We have to get going now.”
Cole lifted Eva up and headed with Felicia into〈S.T.E.L.L.A〉However, the expression on his face wasn’t quite right.
‘She shouldn’t know that author…’
His brows were slightly scrunched up and he bit his lip.
‘No, it’s fine. I’m changing my last name to get rid of her so it’s fine.’
He shook his head to get rid of his thoughts and noticed Felicia staring at his face. Her head was slightly tilted and her eyes spoke for her. He didn’t need to hear her say ‘What’s wrong?’ to get her message.
“It’s fine.”

“Boss!”
“Long time no see!”
Cole hadn’t even taken a full step back in headquarters when he was greeted with a pair of familiar faces.
“Zuben, Eschmali, I’m sorry for leaving my duties to you two. And Zuben there’s no need to call me ‘Boss’ anymore. The same goes for you Eschmali. You don’t have to call me ‘Sir’ anymore either.”
Zuben had black-framed glasses but his long black bangs sometimes covered them. Apparently that intentional due to his eyes looking scary because of sleep deprivation. Eschamli had light pink hair and had eyes a similar shade to her hair.
There was nothing special about them except for the fact that both were very hardworking and competitive individuals.
“It’s fine, Boss!”
“It’ll take time to get used to calling you that way, Sir Cole.”
Both were very cordial on the surface but Cole could still see the faint sparks of lightning between them. Felicia put her hand to her chin and peered at the two with a knowledgeable gaze. After a second, she put her hands on her hips and told them in a tired manner.
“Just get married already.”
Her words froze the two in place. Felicia had seen way too many dramas and novels with bickering male and female leads that should just hurry up and marry each other despite that leading to the end of the story.
The fluff of those stories are nice but sometimes it just becomes a bit too oversaturated.
‘Everyone in the office’s thoughts exactly.’
Cole couldn’t help but agree with Felicia’s words. Maybe if they married each other and learnt how to sort their differences, their work efficiency might double, or even triple.
“W-Well, Boss, shall we head this way?”
“Ah? Is this your little sister? And this woman, is she your friend or maid?”
“My daughter and… someone special.”
Cole wasn’t sure how else to describe Felicia. Her brain was indeed special. She shot him a look that questioned his words but he ignored it. Anyway, Zuben and Eschmali led them straight to their office and quickly got to work.
“Alright, the reason for the name change?”
“…It’s due to a change in custody. It should’ve been done a long time ago.”
‘…What kind of bullshit is that?’
Cole could feel Felicia’s suspicious eyes drilling through the back of his head. From the corner of his eye, he could see her expression that was practically calling out his bullshit. Cole’s mother was Russian which would mean Steward came from his father. What’s more, your last name usually comes from your father, doesn’t it?
“Okay~”
‘Eh?! It went through?!’
While Felicia was giving an incredulous look, Eva raised her hand and made sure that her voice sounded as cute and enthusiastic as possible.
“Pretty Miss!”
“Uhu… Yes, what is it?”
“Can we change her last name while we’re at it?”
*SMACK*
“Wuu… What was that for…?”
“Sir Lucas does not condone such acts, thus, I have dished out punishment in his place.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes, he also adores young children who are nice, obedient, and quiet.”
“And as you can see, I have grown up under those traits.”
Eva could only accept the punishment since Cole had mentioned her beloved Sir Lucas. She had to see if she could bring Felicia and change her name without Cole knowing. Although, she had a feeling that was near nigh impossible.
“Alright, Boss. Here’s your identity card and one for little Eva.”
“Cole ‘Ashwell’. It has a nice ring to it, although Steward did too.”
“That was fast.”
“Yes, it was.”
“Indeed so.”
The newly named Ashwell household all held the same thoughts to the process. Normally, you’d have to fill out a form and attend a hearing to get your name changed if the reason for doing so wasn’t listed in the common reasons.
Eva stared at her ID for a good while and then lifted her head.
“So, I’m Evangeline Ashwell now?”
“Yeah, do you not like it?”
She looked back at her ID. For some reason, she didn’t feel that bad for parting with her old last name. Maybe it was because she hadn’t used it that much.
“No. It just means that I’m even closer with Papa now, right?
Eva bore a bright smile on her face. Cole hoped that she would be able to do so for the foreseeable future. He had thought that maybe it would be easier for Eva to forget the other Cole now.
“I’m sorry for intruding, but I need to borrow your Papa for a bit.”
