The Wheel Of Transmigration - Chapter 19: 01.18: Weimin Ru
“Murong Jieli.” A voice suddenly startled her thoughts. Murong Jieli turned around and noticed it was Ru Weimin, coming in unannounced and unnoticeable.
She sighed. She should get used to him inviting himself in her room without informing her as she’d soon be sharing a room with him. But it still awkward for her, the girl who didn’t really bother with relationships neither in the academy nor outside of it.
Ru Weimin noticed the thing in her hand as he attempted to reach for it. She was currently messing around with the green jade duo necklaces that Empress Fan gifted to her at the imperial banquet and competition. Truly, since so much had happened, the event seemed so long ago, when in reality, it was only a few weeks ago.
“What are you doing?” Murong Jieli squeaked as he reached for one of the necklaces. Honestly, even Ru Weimin didn’t understand why he wanted one of the necklaces. Maybe it would reassure him about keeping her as his? Maybe he wanted physical proof that they were a married coupleor at least would be in a few days.
”’Or maybe you just like the green color,”’ Xiao Meng grumpily voiced in his head as she decided to go to sleep.
Hearing his cousin knocking, Ru Weimin found himself slipping and dragging Murong Jieli with her. Both were found in an ambiguous position by his cousin, to which Murong Jieli voiced out, “It’s not what it looks like!” Which Ru Weimin found cute.
He picked himself up and brush off the nonexistent dust off of his clothes, “I simply slipped while trying to tell Murong Jieli something. Zingxiu, you don’t need to think negatively about the situation.” His cousin blushed as she offered them cookies, to which he had to eat due to the insistence of his adorable wife-to-be.
‘Adorable? Where did that come from?’ He questioned himself as Ai Zingxiu swiftly left to go back to her room.
“Now what did you want before you decided to be like an animal and jump on me, reaching for my necklace?”
Ru Weimin shrugged, “I forgot.” And then he turned around to leave. He hadn’t forgotten, just didn’t want to embarrass himself much longer. He had wanted to ask if she needed anything particular for their wedding, but to hear her lack of enthusiasm for their marriage, Ru Weimin didn’t know what to think or feel. She was only a game he was teasing, yet why did her indirect rejection hurt him more than he expected?
Ru Weimin gripped one of the green jade necklaces he had successfully stolen tightly as he shook his head. He was getting too much into character. He was only here because of his petty revenge… right?

Meanwhile, Murong Jieli turned around and sighed. She noticed the sword that caused all of these problems in the first place lying next to her bed to only half of the necklace. Murong Jieli gasped as she frantically tried looking for it but to no avail.
Half of the necklace was missing. She suspected Ru Weimin had taken half of the necklace but shook her head. She had seen every action he took and he didn’t take the necklace. And even if he did, he was only a character. She was living in reality and he would forget about her very soon as he met the real and original Murong Jieli in their next lifetime as they got their happiness.
She sighed. The transmigration business was tougher than she expected. She needed a break. And to quickly finish this mission. Her former excited self-was getting tired of ancient China. She missed her parents in Ethereal Village.
‘Xiao Fu… I’m tired of everything. I originally meant to play and treat the wheel as a joke but to think the job that came with it is so difficult. I can’t stand all the plotting that is most likely going on since it happens in every story in ancient China, at least according to teachers and seniors. I’m tired of stupid assassins after my life. I just want a break. Couldn’t the dumb wheel send me somewhere relaxing? Like the Central Realm’s Hollywood or somewhere similar!’
”’Mistress, be careful what you wish for because the wheel hears and knows everything.”’
‘That’s creepy.’
Xiao Fu shrugged his shoulders as he snuggled up in his spiritual form. He didn’t bother with his mistress much longer as he went to sleep.
Murong Jieli didn’t ponder on her problems much longer either as she quickly fell asleep once she closed her eyes.
