The Whirlwind Marriage Of A Vengeful Empress - Chapter 14
Total darkness enshrouded Yunqing’s sight in the semblance of a void—a dark void. A never-ending dark void that consumes each and everything in its path. Yet, there she was, laid down amidst the void like an object in a black hole. Her eyes shut tightly as if something would go wrong if she opened them.
‘My dear…….’
‘My dear….’
‘My dear~ it is time to open your eyes. Wake up, my dear. You have been given a second chance. This time live your life. Always remember……,’ she heard a semi-distinct serene voice calling out to her.
She recognized that voice.
That was her mother’s voice.
Was her mother there with her?
‘Mother…..’
‘Mother! Mother, no, don’t leave me! Please! I’m sorry….. I’m sorry….. Please…. Come back!’ she cried out, not seeming to hear the last words of her mother. She could feel as hot tears escaped her closed eyes and cascaded down her cheeks.
She finally forced open her eyes only to be met with the darkness of the void. She stood up and ran in any direction, trying to find her mother.
She kept on struggling in the dark as she searched for her mother until she stumbled and fell. She couldn’t see nor find her mother anywhere in the darkness. More like there was no way she could do that in this darkness.
This made her question whether her mother was really in the darkness with her. She tried remaining silent to locate the place where the sound of her mother’s voice came from. But the only thing she heard was the fleeting voice of her mother saying, ‘Goodbye, my dear~ live well.’
Her head was clouded in pain.
‘Was she going to be completely alone even in the new world too?’
Emotional pain flowed out of every pore… every bone of her body as she let out acutely miserable sobs that were racked with sorrow.
The last words of her mother telling her goodbye had triggered another wave of sorrow. She felt clogged with pain and anger, hurt, and fear. Angry that her foolish actions had brought her to such a state, hurt from the betrayal, and frightful of what was in store for her.
No! She was never like this before. Love had indeed made her weak and foolish. It made her into this sobbing mess.
No stone would come rolling or turning in her favour if she didn’t put it in motion. She needed to live, even if not for herself, at least for her deceased family.
Her mother also told her to live her life, and that was what she was going to do. And to live a damn good life at that! No matter where or in which body, she made a resolve to live well, damning all consequences. She had suffered far too much and was not going to let that happen again.
She would stop waiting for fate to play out; instead, she would create her own destiny—her own path in life.
It seemed she had finally developed a strong dėsɨrė to live.
Arghhhhhh!
Like a great rush of water, memories came back to her. As if the memories were waiting for her to want to live, and now knew that she had a penchant for life.
Though these new memories were not hers, she could feel the joys, happiness, heartaches, sadness, and the anguish of the original owner of the body, Zhu Yunqing, as she journeyed through her life till her demise.
The first walk that Zhu Yunqing remembered.
The joyous moment Zhu Yunqing had.
The heartaches.
The deceit and lies enshrouded in her life.
Most especially the ache she felt when she saw her boyfriend on the bed as he bonked her own cousin.
Those harsh words being dished out, which Zhao Yunqing could relate to.
The so-called boyfriend of Zhu Yunqing even still abused her with his harsh words of betrayal rather than cherishing the love she gave to him.
He even dared to threaten her with hateful things as if he was ordering food from a waitress at a bar.
How shameless could he be? That he didn’t even find anything wrong with what it seemed he had been doing a long time ago.
The black-bellied treacherous cousin was equally as shameless as Zhu Yunqing’s boyfriend and her family, aiming to take over the Zhu Corporation.
Zhao Yunqing seemed to be indulging in the past life of Zhu Yunqing, ignoring her unverified future. It was like she was viewing Zhu Yunqing’s entire life on a monitoring device.
The original owner of the body was just like her—a soft and emotional person. One who wears her heart for all to see… and not knowing that it takes strength to do that, some people treated her like dirt.
She was just as pitiful as her. But why was the person bearing the same name as her so pitiful? Because she was betrayed. Hmm! That seems to be a norm amongst those who you trust. But that wasn’t why she pitied Zhu Yunqing.
Zhao Yunqing pitied Zhu Yunqing because she was foolish enough to waste her life on such scums in her life. Especially when her family was still alive and loved her dearly. She had wasted her life and let it amount to nothing with her own bȧrė hands, and that seems to be the major common ground between them. Well, apart from their names. Still, her killing herself was not the answer. Since her life was not taken away by them, she should have made them regret letting her live then. But instead, she gave them the winning trophy over her life.
Still, if she was really reborn as Zhu Yunqing, should she waste the second chance to live, or should she fight to live?
She was no longer determined to be defined by her moments of weakness and fear but was going to muster up the courage and strength to rise above every downfall… rise above even great feats. Even to the extent of achieving more than her limits could attain.
She made a promise that she would make those who hurt Zhu Yunqing pay with everything she’s got. That was the payment she would give to Zhu Yunqing for giving her the chance to live again.
Those scums don’t know what’s coming for them.
Now her life has only begun. She would live for both of them. Even if she might not be able to exert her own revenge, she will definitely make it so that anyone who had hurt Zhu Yunqing would pay for it.
‘It’s time we wake up now, Yunqing,’ she thought to herself resolutely.
