Wei Chujiu puffed up her cheeks in anger, ready to continue reprimanding her friend, stopped when she noticed a familiar face.

“Ah Brother Ming, You are here,” Wei Chujiu said with a charming and dazzling smile spread across her face.

“…” Zhu Yunqing, who thought she was going to get an earful became speechless after witnessing the drastic change in the attitude of Wei Chujiu. Wei Chujiu seemed so composed and lady-like compared to when she was reprimanding Zhu Yunqing. Well, except for the wide smile on her face and glazed eyes that she strained on Qian Ming. Wei Chujiu was grinning from ear to ear like a little fool as she spoke to Qian Ming.

‘Oho! Who knew this little fool could smile so widely. I feel like her mouth would rip apart from her smile,’ Zhu Yunqing thought.

Qian Ming had already seen Wei Chujiu when she fled earlier to rescue her friend. Plus, since the other girls were gone, he felt that this was the perfect chance for him to leave since he had finished with his business.

“It’s been a while, Chujiu. How have you been? How are Uncle and Aunt?” Qian Ming asked.

“Everyone is fine, Brother Ming. You must have had a busy day so, I won’t hold you for too long,” Wei Chujiu said after noticing Qian Ming’s tired look.

“Alright, I better get going then. It was nice meeting you here,” Qian Ming said.

“Bye-bye, Brother Ming,” Wei Chujiu bade him goodbye with an enthusiastic smile which Qian Ming waved his hand in response to as he walked to the door.

“Oh, least I forget Miss Zhu, No Thanks!” Qian Ming turned back one last time to say before leaving the store, not even giving a chance for Zhu Yunqing to respond.

Puff! Zhu Yunqing blew out a puff of hair in annoyance. It seemed like she had only been getting annoyed since she came to this timeline.

“Huh! What was that all about? You know Brother Ming?!” Wei Chujiu blinked as she half asked herself as Zhu Yunqing, who was supposed to answer the question, had already started walking away.

“Hmm!” Zhu Yunqing hummed.

“Really?” Wei Chujiu asked with a controlled smile while straining her eyes on Zhu Yunqing, who was busy looking at the pieces of jewellery in the store. Wei Chujiu pursed her lips as a slight frown grazed her forehead.

Zhu Yunqing could detect the slight change in her tone, so she turned and answered her properly, “Hmm! He was my attending doctor when you know what happened.”

“Oh! Alright,” Wei Chujiu’s brooding look immediately dissipated after hearing Zhu Yunqing’s reply.

“Why do I feel like you are trying to dress me up?” Zhu Yunqing asked with a raised eyebrow. She focused her gaze on Wei Chujiu, whose excited cheery smile had turned cheeky after being discovered.

“A-ah… what do you mean?” Wei Chujiu smiled sheepishly, as she feigned ignorance, to which Zhu Yunqing only intensified her stare. Her stare finally made Wei Chujiu cave in.

“Fine…. I have a banquet to attend, and I didn’t want to go alone. You know how those occasions are~ and I don’t want to be alone there. Come with me, okay~ please~ hmmm~” Wei Chujiu whɨnėd and pleaded. She even went to the extent of stirring up a little moisture in her eyes. Her expression seemed to say, ‘if you don’t go with me, I’ll cry’.

Zhu Yunqing rolled her eyes, ‘So now we are acting like a little bunny. Urgh! Banquets can be quite a headache.’ But because Wei Chujiu kept on pestering her to go with her was a much worse headache, Zhu Yunqing finally agreed, “Fine, I’ll go with you.”

Immediately she agreed, Wei Chujiu’s eyes flashed with excitement. She thought that at least now she wouldn’t be the only one listening to the boring talks at the banquet.

Looking at how excited that she was, Zhu Yunqing felt like teasing her. “So, when were you planning on telling me or were you planning on kidnaping me and taking me there?” Zhu Yunqing asked in a chiding tone. Zhu Yunqing lifted an eyebrow as she gave Wei Chujiu a questioning stare.

Zhu Yunqing’s question immediately dampened Wei Chujiu’s mood as she tried to find an excuse. “I-I wasn’t,” she quickly responded. ‘But it doesn’t mean that thought never crossed my mind,’ Wei Chujiu thought to herself.

“Well, at least you didn’t think of it, Right?” Zhu Yunqing asked, peering at Wei Chujiu, who just continued laughing cheekily. Wei Chujiu quickly pulled Zhu Yunqing along to try and distract her, “Let’s go~ let’s go.”

After getting the pieces of jewellery they wanted, the two of them spent the rest of the day shopping happily. They entered almost every store in the Mall. They bought a lot of items from the various stores. Wei Chujiu only allowed a short break when the grumbling of their stomach could no longer let them continue shopping.

“Welcome back, Young Miss,” Aunty Zhang greeted.

“Hmmm! Where is my mother?” Zhu Yunqing asked after responding to Aunty Zhang’s greeting.

“Madam sent a few things over to Sir in the office because Sir is working today and Madam said she would accompany him,” Aunty Zhang answered.

“Hmm!” Zhu Yunqing hummed.

“Would the Little Miss be having dinner now? Should I ask the Kitchen to serve your meal?” Aunty Zhang asked.

“I am fine, Aunty Zhang. I don’t need anything. I already ate dinner with my friend,” Zhu Yunqing replied before walking up the stairs.. She was too tired, so even if she wanted to have a midnight snack, she wouldn’t even be able to have it.
