The Whirlwind Marriage Of A Vengeful Empress - Chapter 48
Zhu Yunqing, who was seating close to the edge of the bench did not bother to check who just came into the classroom.
The sound stopped close to where she sat. Thinking it was another student who wanted to seat down inside, she glanced up only to see the face of Zhu Yanyu.
Seeing the disgusting face of this scheming so-called cousin of hers, Zhu Yunqing became irritated.
“Ah~ Qingqing~ you came early~ why didn’t you wait for me at home? I went to your house to look for you but Aunty said you had left~ you must have come with Chujiu’er,” Zhu Yanyu said in a sweet and soft tone. She had a fond look on her face as she spoke.
Hearing Zhu Yanyu’s annoying voice as she spoke increased the annoyance Zhu Yunqing felt. Her face was glazed over with an indifferent and cold look as she completely ignored Zhu Yanyu as if no one had just spoken.
Seeing that Zhu Yunqing was not even ready to acknowledge the presence of Zhu Yanyu who was beside her, Wei Chujiu sneered, “Oh! But Aunty was not at home when we left, so how come you met her,” Wei Chujiu could not help taunting her since she dared to mention her name from her disgusting mouth.
“I-I…. I.” Zhu Yanyu stuttered. She couldn’t find the right excuse.
“Ah! You must have gone to look for us at the wrong house,” Wei Chujiu was never one to let go of a perfect opportunity to do anything.
“H-how is that possible. Of course I know my own cousin’s house,” Zhu Yanyu immediately covered up.
Zhu Yanyu clenched her fist tightly when she heard Wei Chujiu’s snide comment. It was obvious what Wei Chujiu was trying to do.
“Never mind! Maybe we can come to school together another time. I better go seat down. Class would start soon.” She walked away quietly after using all her efforts to hide her anger.
‘How could she mistake her own cousin’s house if they were really that close? Or the fact that she was a liar’ that was the message Wei Chujiu wanted to get across to everyone. At the very least with that, everyone would start doubting Zhu Yanyu.
“Is it possible that she really went to the wrong house?”
“That doesn’t make sense! Haven’t they always come together?”
“It always Zhu Yunqing’s driver that drops them though!”
“Then was she really lying?”
“Why did they not come together today? Is it because of Wei Chujiu?”
“There is no reason for her to be lying, right?”
“You saw that too right? She definitely ignored her cousin!”
“Yeah! Zhu Yanyu must have done something wrong for sure!”
“Could Zhu Yanyu have had an affair with Young Master Tang as well?”
“They are cousins. She wouldn’t have done that! She knows quite well how much her cousin liked Young Master Tang.”
“Yeah! She even helped to introduce them!”
“Her introducing them makes it all the more suspicious!”
“That’s true!”
“Whoa! I would never had tagged her to be that kind of person!”
“You can’t really tell how thick somebody’s skin is underneath!”
“I’ve never trusted her! She always acts like she is better than everyone else.”
“She acts like she is the real First Miss of the Zhu family most times. She is just from the branch family.”
True to what Wei Chujiu was thinking, it didn’t take too long before everyone started whispering and wondering about what was going on between them. Though some started seeing Wei Chujiu in a bad light because some felt it was Wei Chujiu who broke the cousin’s closeness.
Wei Chujiu listened to the circulating gossip with keen interest. She did not care about how they saw her, she only needed others to start doubting Zhu Yanyu. If some people already doubted her character, it would be easier for them to reveal her ugly face.
All Wei Chujiu planned to do anyway was stir up a little doubt in everyone’s mind and she was satisfied that her plan was successful. She really needed to thank Zhu Yanyu for stirring up trouble for herself with her own mouth. With the careless words that came out from her mouth, she did not realize that she was digging her own grave.
When Zhu Yanyu went to her seat, she could no longer control her emotions anymore. So her face twisted in anger.
After a few minutes, a lecturer came in and their first lecture started interrupting the flow of gossip for those that were hungry for it.
