The Whole World Thinks I’m a Woman Disguised as a Man - CH 11.1
Is it still valid? (1)
“Sit tight—”
Duan Wenzheng’s words had just dropped when the cross-country vehicle on the thick layer of ice made a violent turn. They entered a cramped, dark alley in the twinkling of an eye.
Because of the uneven surface, the screen shook violently. But since it was in the game, what was there to sit tight for?
But these words still made Xue Lan tighten the grip on his mouse.
Some players chose to intercept them in the alley and Xue Lan quickly racked his rifle again and eliminated all the people blocking ahead within a few bullets. Since Pang Zi’s character had died, he had pulled a stool to sit behind Duan Wenzheng.
He watched the fierce battle and clicked his tongue in astonishment. “You…Zheng-ge, you can even become the public enemy in the survival battle, I applaud you.”
Four people came from all directions. Duan Wenzheng took advantage of the complicated alley to draw out the enemies’ battlefront. Xue Lan understood what Duan Wenzheng was trying to do. Every turn, he could deal with the enemies with confident accuracy, and actually turned a survival battle similar to a ranked match.
Pang Zi watched Duan Wenzheng who drove the car insanely as well as the person in the passenger seat who still hit almost every target despite the rapid speed and rocking screen. He was so amazed his mouth hung agape.
“The fuck?! This is the lady playing? You’re not tricking me?!!”
But at that moment, the vehicle slowed down.
They had driven the car for a long time. Xue Lan realized it ran out of fuel, but the enemies chasing behind them were slowly coming closer…
“Get off the car.”
Duan Wenzheng jumped off the car without a second thought and finally pulled out his rifle which he hadn’t used much in this game.
Xue Lan followed closely as he jumped off the car. In coordination, they aimed their muzzles toward one of the groups, made a breach, and quickly withdrew.
When the few groups not far behind saw them abandon the car, they came rushing like a swarm of bees. It was a rare sight not to see anyone firing each other and only aiming their muzzles toward those two people who were relying on the bunker to withdraw.
Xue Lan threw a smoke bomb to conceal Duan Wenzheng and himself before finally arriving inside a cottage at the back.
With this advantage, the two finally could fight the enemy wave after wave.
The instant the trajectories streaked across the vast sky, it was as though the earlier situation was to kindle the battle song for this moment, and earlier was only a prelude. The two tacitly entrusted their backs to each other, as though as long as they had each other’s backs, they could overcome all obstacles.
As Pang Zi sat behind DUan Wenzheng, his eyes couldn’t turn away from the screen showing the shooting scene.
It was only a simple survival battle…but they had disturbed the bees’ nest, yet the two could still smoothly handle the situation. Even their coordination was flawless.
He stared at the game interface in front of him stupefied. He was so astonished he could not form a word.
He had always known Duan Wenzheng was very strong, which was why he could bring the weak him and Lao Qi up to the top hundred…but he had never seen this Duan Wenzheng who was shooting in a reckless manner.
He usually fought the survival battle lazily, but now he seemed to be fired up.
Finally, among the scattered corpses in the alley, only remained the two people who were behind the walls of the bunker.
Xue Lan was relieved. He lowered his head and used an injection to restore his HP.
Pang Zi’s breath had been taken away.
“This…” He gripped Duan Wenzheng’s shoulders. He remembered the way Exist immediately looked like a different person as he lifted his rifle beside Duan Wenzheng. He gulped and sputtered. “This is what you meant by…soft?!”
He still couldn’t believe it. “You’re lying, how could this be seen?”
“Soft.” The corners of Duan Wenzheng’s mouth arced up. He took out the candy that he couldn’t eat yet. A gentle light shone in his eyes. “Too soft.”
“…I’ll never believe your words again.”
Xue Lan held his breath as he listened to the two.
Soft?
How could Duan Wenzheng use this word to describe him?
His act of putting the gun away halted. Because of his words, heat once again climbed up his face. He feigned composure as he walked toward the boss.
Duan Wenzheng smiled but didn’t say anything as he followed Xue Lan and cleaned up the remaining few monsters.
The remaining ones had low combat, so it was not long until the two cleared the whole battlefield.
“Next game.”
Duan Wenzheng intended to exit the game straight away after he said that, but he saw Xue Lan aimed at the boss that was just about to leave the battle.
Exist: I’ll do it myself, wait for a bit.
Xue Lan knew Duan Wenzheng disliked PVE the most. But his account level now was low and he put all the points into his attack. His defense was low that half of his health bar was swept by the boss.
“Why are you fighting this?”
It was not as fast as killing people to gain experience, and recovering HP was a waste of time.
