The Wife of Hades - Chapter 132
They made a few turns, and they were just about to turn and go to the second floor of the building when they suddenly bumped into someone.
“Ah,” An Luxia exclaimed as she put one palm over her forehead and looked up with a frown to see her brother, “Brother!”
“Brother Yuchen,” Yu Xinyi called in surprise, a smile forming on her face.
“What are you two doing here?” An Yuchen asked, looking down at them as he grabbed onto An Luxia’s hand.
“We were waiting for you. Remember? Mommy told me to go home with you today.”
An Yuchen nodded, “Our teacher let us out a little early today. Let’s go.”
An Luxia waved goodbye to Yu Xinyi and left with her brother, holding onto his hand. As they walked home, she debated on whether she should tell him about what she had seen and ask him what they were doing, but in the end, she did not open her mouth even after they reached the house.
After that, the memory had been hidden deep inside her brain and she did not mention it to anyone. She had almost forgotten about it until. . .
— Present
“It was my intention,” An Luxia said, her frown deepening.
“Luxia!” This time, it was An Yuchen who spoke, and he was more confused than angry. Why was his sister acting like this?
An Luxia was about to tell her brother that he cannot date her, but she stopped herself as her mother quickly grabbed onto her arm and said, “Let’s go eat lunch first. Come on, come on, the food will get cold.”
An Luxia glanced at her mom and pressed her lips into a thin line. Her mom merely nodded as the five of them walked over to the dinner table.
As the table only had four chairs usually, a fifth had to be added and Hu Yiyi ended up sitting in An Luxia’s usual chair next to An Yuchen, and An Luxia was forced to sit at the corner of the table. An Luxia felt a very uncomfortable ball of unknown anger and annoyance beginning to form inside her chest, and she was beginning to like this disgusting woman less and less!
Well, she never liked her to begin with!
They started eating, and An Luxia swallowed her words along with the food. She could not just say that now, or else her brother will definitely get mad at her. She had no evidence besides her own story from over ten years ago! Who would even believe her?
And, that woman can just say she must have remembered wrong, and all the blame would be on her! She can’t be stupid enough to just sell her story like that! She had to wait and formulate a plan. . .
An Luxia’s eyes rested on Hu Yiyi as they ate, and she grew more and more certain of the woman’s identity. There was no way she would let that woman date her brother!
However, her brother was still stuck in the trance Hu Yiyi had set him in, and he treated her kindly as he placed food on her plate.
An Luxia’s dad also seemed to like her quite a lot as he asked her about her education, age, hobbies, and a ton of information as they talked and laughed. Hu Yiyi had a very sweet mouth lined with honey, and it was easy to gain her dad’s liking.
An Luxia did not say anything throughout the whole meal, and after she had finished eating, she put her chopsticks down and said she had to go upstairs to get something. As she stood up, she dragged her mom with her, and Qi Lanyu did not say anything as she went along.
An Ping and An Yuchen watched them and after they had gone, An Yuchen sighed, turning to Hu Yiyi, “She usually isn’t like that. I don’t know why she is behaving weirdly today, I’m sorry.”
Hu Yiyi put on a sad and slightly pitiful expression, but she nodded, “Don’t worry about it, Yuchen. I can understand. I am a stranger after all.”
An Ping looked at them and then at the stairs, and shook his head. He would have to scold his daughter later! Even if he treasured her, she still needed to have manners!
—
Upstairs, An Luxia closed the door to her room and sat down on the bed with her mom.
“Mom, brother can’t date that woman!”
Qi Lanyu was quite surprised at An Luxia’s strong reactions, and she nodded her head, grabbing onto An Luxia’s hands, “Xiaxia, do you not like her either?”
“I. . .” An Luxia did not know what to say.
“I don’t really like her. . . I don’t know, maybe it is a woman’s sixth sense, but I have a feeling that she isn’t as innocent as she seems. But I don’t want to judge her like that. Luxia, why don’t you like her? Maybe we should -”
“No!” An Luxia immediately said. She pressed her lips together into a thin line and finally, she let out a deep sigh and decided to tell her mother about the story.
After she had finished, her mother was in shock.
“Are you. . . Are you sure it was her?!” Qi Lanyu exclaimed in shock, unable to believe An Luxia’s story and the fact that the girl in the story was the girl sitting in her dining table right now!
An Luxia nodded, “I am certain. I can still remember it clearly, especially. . . especially. . .” An Luxia looked down a little embarrassedly, “especially since I know what they were doing now.”
Qi Lanyu sighed, “Well then, my sixth sense was correct. There is no way I can let my son go with a woman like her! I am certain she is with him either because of his looks or because of his occupation now!”
An Luxia also nodded. Not only was her brother tall and handsome, but he also earned a lot from being a surgeon. It wasn’t every day you came across a good looking and young doctor from a good family!
“But mom, we have no evidence. We have to stay calm. . . Don’t worry about it, I’ll come up with something. And don’t tell dad too. . . I’m scared he might not – might accidentally speak too fast to brother.” An Luxia wanted to say that her father might not believe their story, but in the end, she changed her words.
She grabbed onto her mom’s hands, staring into her eyes sternly. After years of writing face slapping and manipulative story plots, she was certain that she could come up with something to expose this evil fox!
Qi Lanyu was slightly hesitant, but after a few seconds, she nodded and stood up, “Okay, okay. But I don’t want your brother to stay with her for too long. . . It’s a bad influence.”
An Luxia nodded, “Don’t worry. I’m going to go home then. I don’t want to stay here. . . And maybe she will leave too after seeing me leave.”
Qi Lanyu nodded as the two of them stood up and walked down the stairs back into the dining room. When they reached the first floor, they noticed that the three of them were on the couch in the living room already, and they had finished eating too.
After the brief conversation, the way Qi Lanyu looked at Hu Yiyi had completely changed, and it was filled with disgust and even a bit of hate. Hu Yiyi obviously noticed this quickly enough, and she stood up from the couch as she looked at Qi Lanyu and then at An Luxia.
An Luxia also realized that her mother’s gaze was a little too obvious, and she pinched her mom softly in the hands. Qi Lanyu looked towards her and did not seem to realize what An Luxia was hinting at.
“Dad, brother, I’m going to go home now,” An Luxia said, reaching for her bag and turning around to leave.
An Yuchen looked at his little sister, a little upset that she did not even bother to say goodbye to his guest. He sighed and patted Hu Yiyi on the shoulder before following his sister out of the house.
When they reached the front door, An Luxia quickly stepped out and walked out of the house, preparing to call a taxi to go home.
“Xiaxia, why are you acting weirdly today? Are you upset?” An Yuchen asked.
An Luxia put down her phone and looked up at An Yuchen, narrowing her eyes, “Yes, I am upset. I don’t want you to be with her.”
She did not even want to say Hu Yiyi’s name. Hearing this, An Yuchen also got upset as he did not expect for his beloved sister to have a strong reaction towards his decision, “Why?”
An Luxia wanted to tell him what she had saw but there was no way he would believe her, especially since Hu Yiyi had established the angelic image in her brother and dad’s heart, “I don’t like her. . . You will know why soon enough.”
“Luxia, don’t be so absurd? Are you scared that after I have a girlfriend, I won’t love you as much?”
