The Wife of Hades - Chapter 146
At night, they slept at the An house together and they were going to stay there until the New Year. They laid on the soft bed in the dark room, close together because the bed was quite small as it had been An Luxia’s old bed.
An Luxia had fallen asleep already since it was a tiring day and it was very late, but Mo Han laid wide awake, unable to fall asleep.
The fear and unknown overwhelmed him as he did not know what to do, and the thought of just going back to his dad and agreeing to his deal was starting to weigh a little heavier than the downside.
As long as she lived, it was fine what happened. He would rather be away from her than not be able to ever see her again.
An Luxia rolled around on the bed and Mo Han quickly wrapped his arm around her waist to prevent her from rolling off the bed. An Luxia moaned softly like a small kitten and Mo Han turned to look at her. After a few seconds, his eyelids started to feel heavy as he soon fell asleep.
—
Soon enough, other known symptoms began to show up as well as the worst thing was not An Luxia losing her memory now. On top of that, she was beginning to get a little crazy.
She would do really weird things that children would usually do, and afterwards, would forget all about it as if it had not happened.
It was a cold winter day, and the wind outside stopped anyone from stepping out.
Mo Han opened the door and saw An Luxia walking in circles in the room, looking up at the ceiling in a daze, muttering something underneath her breath that he could not understand.
He knit his eyebrows together, realizing that the Trap had hit again, and he walked over to her, grabbing onto her hand, “Luxia.”
An Luxia continued to walk in a circle but she bumped into Mo Han halfway through, and she looked at her in surprise, “Little Hanhan, look! There are stars in the sky!” She said, pointing up at the ceiling which was a complete shade of black. Her eyes sparkled as her finger scanned the ceiling, almost as if she was pointing at the stars.
Her voice was weirdly high, almost as if she was talking to a child. Mo Han grabbed onto her finger and said gently, “There are no stars.”
An Luxia looked up once again and when her eyes locked with the black ceiling, she suddenly furrowed her eyebrows together, looking around as if she had just woken up, “What am I doing?”
Her voice had returned to its normal self and she looked at Mo Han, “You are done with work?”
Mo Han could not bear seeing her like this and he nodded, “Yes. Come on, let’s go eat dinner.”
An Luxia grabbed onto his hand and together, they walked out of the room to eat dinner.
The days passed by like this one by one, nothing changing as An Luxia’s condition got worse slowly. On this day, Mo Han was in his office going through some work very frustratedly.
He had been in the office for several hours already, and it was time for lunch. Mo Han looked up at the clock, confused on why An Luxia did not come in to tell him to go eat lunch today. He waved off the worker and left the office, going to the bedroom to look for her, thinking that she might have gone crazy again.
However, he was wrong this time.
When he pushed open the bedroom door, he did not see anyone inside. Mo Han looked around the empty room, stepping in and then looking through the bathroom and the closet, only to find it all empty.
He stepped out of the room again and asked the maid standing not too far from the door, who stood there at all times to make sure An Luxia did not do anything out of hand, “Did you see Mrs. Mo?”
The maid looked down and shook her head, “Mrs. Mo should be in there. The door did not open after you had gone, Mr. Mo.”
Hearing this, Mo Han’s eyes immediately widened as he grew alarmed. He turned around and looked around the room again, his eyes landing on the open window. The cold air entered the room through the window, sending a chill down Mo Han’s spine.
He entered the room again, looking down the window to see the mountains at the back of the mansion. As he turned around, his eyes landed on the white paper placed on the bed, not very noticeable on top of the white beddings.
Mo Han immediately picked it up, reading through the two words on the paper:
‘Country A’
Mo Han crumpled the paper up in his fingers, throwing it at the wall in anger. But it was only paper and it could not do any damage. He put one hand up to his forehead and then walked out of the room, stopping in front of the maid.
“Are you sure you did not see Mrs. Mo? Any sounds?!” He questioned the maid, who grew scared as she began stuttering.
“No, no, Mr. Mo! I was standing out here the whole time and Mrs. Mo did not come out. There was nothing unusual going on in the room. I did not hear or see anything!” The maid looked around, wondering what had happened but was too afraid to ask.
Mo Han knitted his eyebrows together tightly as he entered the room again, just in time for him to hear the landline phone in the room start ringing.
He immediately ran over and picked it up to hear a familiar voice, “Mo Han, I assume you see that she is gone already. Yes, it was me.”
“What -” Mo Han started.
Mo Siyan immediately cut his son off, “I am running out of patience. Hurry and make your decision.”
Then, he hung up the call, leaving Mo Han incredibly worried as he marched out of the room, going to prepare the flight to Country A. However, before he could even reach the living room, he was stopped.
“Mr. Mo, the scientists seemed to have thought of something,” K suddenly came over, noticing that Mo Han was in a bad mood.
Hearing this, Mo Han stopped in his tracks. Not sure of what was more important, Mo Han finally said, “Let’s go.”
Then, they were on the way to the scientists’ lab.
—
When An Luxia opened her eyes again, she was inside a room. It was decorated in a very cozy manner with a small bed to the left and a couch on the right. The walls and the floor were all made of carpet and there seemed to be nothing hard inside the room.
An Luxia could not remember anything that had happened, which seemed to happen very often these days.
The door suddenly clicked open and Shen Liya walked in. Seeing her, An Luxia immediately figured out where she was as she narrowed her eyes, glaring at Shen Liya, “You -”
However, Shen Liya did not seem to have any intention of acknowledging her as she placed the tray she was holding onto the floor and then walked out, locking the door again.
An Luxia walked over and looked at the tray, which had several plates of food on it. She was indeed very hungry, and thinking that there was no point in poisoning her, she began eating on the couch.
—
“Uncle, what if he doesn’t come?” Shen Liya asked Mo Siyan inside his office, which was dimly lit by a few candles underground.
“He will most certainly come, ” Mo Siyan said with confidence, throwing the cigarette he was holding into the ashtray.
“Speaking of which, I should go talk to her for a quick moment. Wait here for me.” Then, Mo Siyan stood up and left the room. Right after he walked out of the door, Shen Liya immediately ran over to the other end of the office, beginning to click through Mo Siyan’s computer.
She typed furiously as several green words flashed past Mo Siyan’s computer, and then she went through several codes and locks before finally reaching a folder. She could feel her heart beating in her chest as she clicked open the folder, revealing several images and documents.
She went through them one by one, and the documents included images of people in a hospital bed, hospital records, bank transaction records, car accident images, and more.
After clicking through all of them, Shen Liya typed some more and after the computer screen read: Transfer Success, Shen Liya let out a deep breath as she looked up at the wall.
So, her guesses had indeed been right. And the note was not lying. . . Mo Siyan did murder her parents.
Then, there was a click as the door was pushed open.
