The Wife of Hades - Chapter 155
An Luxia’s heart stopped.
Mo Han and Qi Yu’s heart practically also stopped as they watched the monitor intensely, their hands shaking when they saw the straight line.
Beep! Beep! Suddenly, the line on the monitor began moving again as the number returned. An Luxia’s heart beat faster than normal but at least it was still beating.
Mo Han fell back down onto the chair, leaning over towards the bed as he grabbed onto An Luxia’s hand, afraid to hear the long unmoving beeping of the monitor again.
Qi Yu looked at the heart monitor and then at An Luxia again and also let out a breath of relief. Everything should be okay now.
—
For the next few days, An Luxia laid on the bed without moving, but her heart continued to beat. When the first 12 hours was up, Mo Han could feel like his heart was going to jump out and he was afraid he would die from anxiousness before anything could even happen to An Luxia..
However, the first 12 hours passed and nothing happened, and then the next 12 hours, and Mo Han finally calmed down a little. Nothing seemed to be happening anymore and An Luxia would hopefully be okay. . .
And he would also be okay.
—
After four days, An Luxia finally opened her eyes. Everything seemed like a daze to her, and she could only remember coming back from Country A. Everything after that, she did not know because she was unconscious.
Maybe that was also a good thing.
After waking up, she found that her entire body was very sore and weak, and no one knew why since she had not felt this way before the Trap was cured.
Qi Yu had guessed that it was because her body was still getting used to suddenly losing a part of it, as the Trap had spread all throughout her body. She stayed in bed and Mo Han took care of her, carefully feeding her, talking to her, and keeping her company.
A week later, they could no longer hide everything from the An family anymore, so they finally decided to tell them everything that had happened. Since everything was okay now, it would be unfair to hide it from them now.
By the time An Luxia’s parents came, she had recovered mostly already, and she could eat normally and get up and walk around. She just got tired and weak easily, probably a side effect of the cure.
After all, the Trap had been inside her body for such a long time. It would take a while for her to get used to not having it anymore. It was like a parasite, but getting rid of it was also a process.
Qi Lanyu sat on the edge of the bed, her face filled with tears as she sobbed on and on, “How could this happen?! Why didn’t you tell us?”
An Luxia reached over for her mother’s hand and grabbed onto it, her heart hurting from seeing her mother cry this much, “I’m sorry, mom. See, I am okay now! I didn’t want you to worry.”
Qi Lanyu glared at her daughter, slapping her on the arm lightly, “How could you not tell me?! I am your mother!”
An Luxia pressed her lips together guiltily and looked over at Mo Han and then at An Yuchen, who also had a dark face at the moment.
“So this was all because of him?!” An Yuchen suddenly asked, turning his attention to Mo Han. The family also knew about Mo Han’s true occupation now, and as the one who had known for the longest, An Yuchen was the most furious.
“Didn’t you say your job wouldn’t affect my sister?!” An Yuchen was obviously mad at Mo Han, as after all, his beloved sister had almost died, “How can we trust you now?! Obviously you can’t take care of her!”
Mo Han, who was normally very strong and assertive, listened obediently like a little child now with his head down, nodding as An Yuchen spoke. Only until he had finished did he look up and reply simply, “I’m sorry. Please give me another chance. I promise to be more careful and keep her safe.”
An Luxia did not know whether she should be surprised or pleased. When did her little Hanhan become so weak? An Yuchen was obviously also surprised, as he looked taken aback as he forgot to speak for a quick second.
Then, he cleared his throat and glared at Mo Han, saying, “Even though I don’t forgive you, I can’t do anything about it! You better be more careful and take better care of her. Or else. . .”
Mo Han nodded, “Thank you, brother. I definitely will.”
An Yuchen put his hands into his pant pockets and looked a little uncomfortable from the difference in Mo Han’s attitude.
An Ping and Qi Lanyu also looked at Mo Han, not sure of how to feel. They had both had some concerns and feelings about Mo Han’s true occupation, because he seemed to have a lot of money but at the same time, he said he just owned a small business.
They had their guesses, but never in the world would they have guessed that he was actually the leader of an underworld group, one of the biggest in the world!
Not sure of how to react, they couldn’t let their daughter divorce, especially since they both knew that An Luxia would never agree. So, they could only accept and see what would happen after this.
For the next hour, the entire An family stayed inside the hospital room, keeping an eye out on An Luxia. They were all scared after hearing about the Trap, just like how Mo Han and An Luxia had first reacted, but even worse.
Everyone would be surprised at hearing about something like the Trap, and they did not want to possibly lose their daughter and sister.
Finally, after night had come and An Luxia had eaten dinner already, did the three people finally leave hesitantly, promising to come back again tomorrow.
Mo Han escorted the An family out of the hospital, and came back a few minutes later to see An Luxia laying in bed, looking at her with a grin.
“So. . . what happened to you today?”
