The Witchs Rebirth - Chapter 132 Why not?
Steel didn’t seem to want to do anything and look at me. I look back. This time he was not going the get the best of me.
“Sorry, she’s meeting a client.” Steel said as he moved to the computer. “I check the slot it’s an important meeting.”
“That does not take two hours. Steel, fit me in.”
“No, it takes two hours and maybe more. I can’t do anything this is an important client, Ceyx brought in and we need the account. She can’t even be choosy about it.”
“Why not?”
“We’re needed the money. The economy is down. The business isn’t making money. The properties aren’t selling. Take your pick.” Steel said nastily.
My sense did prickle at the hum of power the Yoit pendent was calling out. The other mirror was here in the house. Sure, enough I peeked into my grandmother’s office. I didn’t know what to think.
“Is it Dawson River?” I asked whispering.
“Sorry, can’t tell you that but you could wait.” Said Steel as he took my arm and pulled my arm out from my hiding spot.
A glance over told me all I need to know so I was not complaining. It was a serious matter of great importance that they were talking because Diana was in the very.
To kill time I pick up a magazine from the table. I flipped through the magazine and there were articles on important beings from the most influence to the richest. It was making a list of who is who in the world, everyone I knew was in there and so was I. Apparently it came with the position lady of the lake. They covered everything from my business to my personal life. When I said ever thing it was everything, my book collection, my clothes and me with Knight. I was painted as abomination to the community.
Let’s just say I spend the next two hour between cursing and reading it. The more I read the angrier I became, it’s not every day that you find out how you should dress, how you should buy artifacts, how you should make a live and get married.
“Did you know that I look fat in checkers?”
“I liked it. They show you in a rather lady like manner. See page sixty nine, they’ve got a rather good picture of you in your robe.”
“Nice.”
“Really?”
“No, I rather not talk about it. One thing I wonder is how they got information on me. I’m not exactly in the phone book.”
“Who do you think help?”
“Shut up, it was grandmother!”
“And Diana, once they knew of your good fortune. There was nothing they would stop for to celebrate the happy event. They even organized a grand ball at the manner on your behalf, it’s tomorrow by the way” Steel stand smiling wide.
“I don’t know anything.” I said my voice sounded rather strained.
He said nothing but look at me, his eyes sadden. He may not have liked me but out of all grandmothers’ employees, he was the one that knew about our strain relationship.
“They’ll be coming out any moment, now. I better get the carriages ready.”
“Bye,”
My heart stopped beating when I heard the door open, a second later. I hear music recognizing it as a Russian composer in the early eighteen century.
