The Witchs Rebirth - Chapter 138 My love?
Out of nowhere there was light. I manage to pull onto the round table. Opening a door.
The knights came over, gathering in a protective circle. Trying to shield me from any harm from the powerful explosion that was about to happen.
I held up my hand shielding my eyes but not before I caught glimpse of what we truly were. It was an “it”, not a being. A large ugly head with rolls of long sharp fangs hallow bright red glowing eyes. The rest of “it” was as hideous and obesity as any monster. Bat like wings stretched from one end of the room to the other, skeletal arms clawing the ceiling and a body of bulging of muscle and lines of vain. The main word for “it” was ugly.
The silver lining was the gold tread embedded in me circulated with my circuits. It glows and the “it” sank down thrashing its limbs screaming raging and tearing great swaths out of the carpet with “it” claws, it was scary.
Blackness and dust cover over us. The basement may be the best room in the place but without modern convenient it was impossible to see.
I wave my hand and conjure light ball. I look around the destroyed room. In place of my beloved grandmother, stood a large manticore with dark features and wings it was unconscious but I knew I did the right thing. It had to end this way or she’d go straight into the mist.
“I never knew a girl that could get in so much trouble,” Knight appeared rushing inside looking ready to kill, “if I knew I wouldn’t have leaved. You are trouble, love.”
“You are not my keeper” I countered.
He was wasting valuable magic and creating a soul puppet just to help me. This was beyond fake mates. It made things feeel very real.
Three pairs of fangs peak from his month. He was so furious that it his other form pushed forward, this was getting a lot more complicated than before, other forms was like have another personality. They were not responsible for what they did and judging from the direction I should stay quiet and let him do the talking he needed to do and get it over with.
“True in a sense but I believe we have a signing. You’ve put yourself in danger and put me and everything I have at risk.” He growled as he pulled me in and nuzzles my neck, licking my wounds clean. “What do you have to say for yourself?”
“I’m sorry?” I said in a high pitch tone.
This time I really was in the wrong. I had risked his only chance of happiness. He did deserve an apology. Knight stiffened, I could still see harsh rage and pain in his eyes. If I didn’t know better I’d believe that I was his mate and that he cared for me and my well being.
Not an act to trick everybody to believe that I was his mate. His mate was lucky.
My only regret is that why it couldn’t have been me. Our kind knew their mates almost instantly I would have known. Better yet he would have known if I was his and he’d never let me leave his side.
Time for another calculated risk. I tossed the candle stick down and felt my body give out. I was tired of this. We were no more the owner of our own fate. Normal’s as I call them had the choice how narrow those paths even have small may be ways of choice. Being born a witch had deprived me of many joys of life, love was one of them. I wanted love but knew it would always elude me. This feeling so near to love was result of a potion that once the effect wore off it’d be empty and broken.
“Let’ me take you home.” He said taking my hand pulling me into him. “I want you safe. From today on you will take the knights with you where ever you go or I’ll send my men over and you will not like them as much as the knights.”
“Don’t worry about it, I’ll call Phi. She’ll take me home. You shouldn’t waste magic. So please go.”
“You have not given me your word.” Knight stated heavily.
“I’ll take them with me.” I said keep my words lose, “This is unfortunate and unexpected. I won’t be caught off guard again.”
He nodded excepting our fate. I turn and walk away I trusted him to do the right thing. After all he could have rope me into going with him playing it without anything in return but he didn’t.
Alpha Knight was an honorary man and he attempt to clean up my mess for me. He worked well with the knights, they may have been the same, and the hardest part was to take care of grandmother or parts of her that was still in this plain. They were putting her in a cage and transporting her to the zoo.
